Hey Mollie! I'm sorry u have people point at ur face and say, "EWW!" I know how it feels 2, considering the fact I started puberty at EIGHT and the first thing 2 start was ACNE. I know it stinks, but as people develop acne 2, they'll stop teaseing u. Also, I'm glad that u found something that work 4 ur skin, but unfortunatly, that product drys my skin 2 much. Buh-Bye! :-D

miss loly- first of all good for u that u are eating healthy that is like the first step. Second, about your mom you said you already talked to her but maybe having a talk were you say how you feel when she calls u fat. and tell her u want to live a healthy lifestyle and stuff but its difficult when she is hurting your self esteem. Also I know jumproping is a really good exercise. I have heard like more than one time that ten min. of it is equal to a mile. good luck

Hi! Are there any foods you can eat that will decrease your acne? I've read that eating omega 3's like in walnuts and flax seeds are good, but I'm not sure...does anyone know? Thanks!
Posted by: optimist33 on 11/15/2007 1:37:47 AM
i'm not really sure about that, i don't really think that what you eat has anything to do with the clearness of your skin. try proactive it worked OK for me but not great, but our skin is most-likely not the same

hey greeneyes actually my gym teacher just told us two days ago that 3 minutes of fast-pace jumpropping equal one mile! and she should know because she went to the national jumpropping convention! doing 10 min would be great though!!!

Optimist: This is really long, but it will help! The type of fats in the diet are a key factor for acne control. Use olive oil for cooking and on salads. Saturated fats and partially hydrogenated fats cause damage to body tissues and promote inflammation. Eat non-fat or low-fat dairy products. Cut back on red meats and butter. Eliminate partially hydrogenated fats from the diet. Never eat margarine. Avoid fried foods. Oils that are heated and re-used to make French fries and fried chicken contain particularly harmful toxins. Supplement the diet with the omega-3 fats found in salmon and flax seeds. Avoid the omega-6 fats of vegetable oils (corn oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil) because they promote inflammation. Cut back on baked foods made with wheat flour and any foods containing large amounts of sugar. Overloading on carbohydrates is a major cause of weight problems and tissue damage. Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads. The vitamins contained in these foods can have a significant beneficial effect on acne. The fiber is essential for healthy digestion and elimination. Foods high in vitamin A and beta-carotene are especially good nutritional sources (carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, and green leafy vegetables, spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce). Avoid foods that increase Heat in the body, spicy foods, garlic, and coffee. Drink plenty of purified water or spring water (up to 4 quarts of water a day) to flush out toxins and transport nutrients. You don't have to follow this religiously, but try some of the tips!;)

I have really large pores and they drive me crazy! I'm not very nice to them either. I have a lot of blackheads, mostly on my nose, and it's really inconvienent, especially when I'm putting on makeup. It actually makes it even more noticeable. This has been bothering me for quite some time, but I haven't been able to find anything that works! Any advice? (By the way, this is such a good idea!) -Bane <3

i don't know how to lose wieght. i wiegh 90 pounds what can i do
Posted by: momo on 11/15/2007 9:11:47 PM
momo, you definately do not need to loose weight, Physical activity is always good, and will keep you "in shape", but unless you are "at risk" on the BMI chart, i would not risk it

Hey Optimist33! Some things that I find help is water. Lots and lots of water. I'm pretty sure it s b/c it clears ur system or somthing along that. Yey! :-D
Posted by: KathyGurl13 on 11/15/2007 10:06:29 PM
Hi RedRidingHood! The whole thing about a diet low in fat decreases acne. Yes, going on a better diet does decrease acne, but 4 a different reason. You see, fat promotes estrogen, which can inflate hormones that cause acne. That's also the reason that birth-control pills decrease acne, b/c they suppress estrogen. But Optomist33, still, going on a diet does help too.

Hey momo! How tall r u? How old r u? That does contribute to weighing 90lbs. If ur just about under 4 foot 10, that might be too much. But if ur the height most girls r on this site, I think ur at a pretty healthy weight already.

Hey, I have this thing where I can't eat a lot of sugar without putting on some weight. My endocrinologist wants me to lose some weight, and I could lose at least ten pounds and still be healthy. She says it will help lower my bone age too. Does anyone have any good ways to lose weight?? Oh, and btw guys, when your like me, you actually look at the sugar, and you'll be surprised what has a lot of sugar in it. MILK has 12 grams per half pint, 100% fruit juice has more than 25 grams, and those so called "healthy" granola bars and granola have 15- 20. So my mom won't let me eat that stuff. So anything with more than, like, 6 grams of healthy sugar is totally off limits.
Posted by: barneypig on 11/16/2007 5:12:35 PM
Hey barneypig! I whatch my sugar intake too, but 4 different resons. It's just healthier to have less sugar, now I let myself eat ONE healthy but sugary thing a day. Sometimes it's a kashi cookie, or a Starbucks light mocha fappachino( it only has about 180 calories and my mom gets a discount there. It also has a low sugar verion too if u get it with carmal, rasberry, vannila, or choclate sugar free surup!). Also, a low sugar snack that I LOVE is Originonal Edensoy! It has 140cal, 4.5 grams of good fats, and only 7 grams of sugar per 8 oz. serving. Less then milk, and it tastes WAY better! Hope u like these! :-D

Hi y'all. I was just wondering if any of you have any help for someone who hates salads but wants to eat healthy. I hate the taste of brocoli, peas, green beans, and oranges. I can't stand the smell of all of those except lettice and oranges. I do not like lettice although it is not awful. I do like cucumbers, corn, apples, watermelon, and grapes. Please help! I do not need to lose weight but just want to be healthy!

hey i am 4ft 10 and weigh 74 pounds does anyone have sugestions for gaining weight but not really gain fat just like build muscle weight
Posted by: dancababy on 11/18/2007 1:05:45 PM
Hey legz2012! About ur tiny-weenie tummy, that is somthing that on most healthy girls will always be there. That bit of fat is a thing that humans used to live off during famines and when they could find food. That was their lifesaver, and people who didn't have it usually died. That fat also regulates blood sugar and directs ur pancreas how much enzyme the stomach needs. Many gorgious models have the tummy. Tyra Banks and many Victoria's Sectret models have it. That pooch is hot! So don't hate it, adore it. :-D
Posted by: KathyGurl13 on 11/18/2007 10:27:19 PM
Hi Elizabeth(Beth)! Since u don't like vegatables flat out, here r some things that u can do to hide the taste and are delish (I used them in recipies for kids I babysit. They hate vegies, but they love these)! There is the classic veggie burger, a great way to hide veggie taste, but get most of the benefits (but make sure u don't get Garden Vegatable Veggie Burgers, they're AWFULL). Also, something I do to hide vegetables from lil' kids, is I buy organic baby food vegetables, and mix them in with anything that has a sauce (Kraft Organic Mac&Cheese, Annie's Organic Speggetios, Homemade pizza(u put it in the sauce), and Homemade pasta sauces). Make sure the vegetable compliments ur dish! Peas, carrots, and squash go with most things, so stock up! Yum!

MODDDDDDDDD********************* ok, my problem is cardio and areobics! i just, idk what my problem is, i need them to be fun and efective most of all, my mom doesn't like me to walk or jog outside, and plus its so cold outside. i've been doing to workout on this site for about a week, haven't seen results yet, and i'm overweight. so what cardio workouts can i do that don't involve going outside????? MODDDDDDDDD********************** Well babe, it takes much longer than one week to results...weight loss is something that happens over a longer period of time. Some good indoor cardio excercises to do are running stairs, jump rope and jumping jacks. Also, investing in some workout videos like tai-bo or kickboxing would be a good idea too. ♥ Alli

i need to lose some weight but i've heard it stunts your growth. i need to grown a couple more inches to make varsity volleyball but will dieting and losing way make this goal unreachable? help!! Losing weight will only stunt your growth if you do it in an unhealthy, drastic way. I don't think you have anything to worry about... ♥ Alli

Hey Dakota... I use Neutrogena Power Clear Power Scrub every morning and before I go to bed at night...it has cucumber and green tea in it. You can find it at Walgreens or Walmart in the Neutrogena section -- the actual product is green in color and it's around $6 or $7. I've been using this since June and it's really great! My acne has decreased a lot and it actually stops some pimples from forming. If you find that this one is too strong for you, or if it makes your skin sting, try the Neutrogena Power Clear Power Foam-Wash. It should be right next to the Power Scrub at the store. Good luck!

well, don't diet if your only problem is your legs. i have leg issues too. try leg lifts. or lie on your stomach and lift your leg up, and another great one is if you lay on your side. place your top leg, bent behind you. lift your bottom leg up as far as you go. go slow so you can really feel the burn.

Thanksgivingis coming up and it's time to feast! But sometimes its tempting too eat too much. Any tips?
Posted by: Amandalapanda on 11/21/2007 7:58:25 PM
amandalapana- try only having one or two servings. also, if you want to try a bunch of different things get little servings of each. that way if you really want more of one or two of a one dish u wont b overstuffed if u eat them. also turkey is good for u but the skin can b fatty. potaoes r good but mashed can have a lot of butter. so can creamed spinach and a few other dishes. stick to just waht looks good/ not to buttery and try not to overstuff...although it can b hard

Hey zimza! As long as u r on a healthy diet and a good exersize regemine for how much u eat, don't sweat it. Being underweight is ok as long as it is how ur body is naturally, not something u purposly did. Healthy eating!

Hey everybody! I found out that a chemical that is naturally in turkey that makes u sleepy! I was zonkered after my Thanksgiving dinner alright. Running a lot before I ate probuably contributed. Happy Holidays! :-D
Posted by: KathyGurl13 on 11/27/2007 10:27:13 PM
hey KathyGurl13, my mom found out that that's not strictly true, turkey's chemical relaxes you, but the same chemical is in foods like banana's. She says you probably get sleepy from eating such a big meal that it tires you out, and then you still have to digest it!!! It makes your body feel like it ran 10 miles! Toodles all!!!!1

Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't been on in a while, I had my 5 year old cousin over for thanksgiving, and a few days after that too. I had to entertain her, then I got sick. I'm still sick, I have a head cold and sinus infection, but I had the time to get online (THANK YOU LAPTOP!!) Just a quick tip: If you're sick with a head cold, drink tons of fluids, DONT watch to much TV, and try and get out in the fresh air a lot. It's good for you! You'll be healthy again in no time.
