Girl Talk: Bad Table Manners

bianca.jpg

So my BF Jake really cares about me etc. He’s a great guy and I like to meet his friends, like he likes to meet mine. But the other day, one of his friends, DJ, started to look at my chest! Freaked out, I pretended I was cold and quickly put on my jacket. Then when Jake left the table (we were at a restaurant), DJ started playing footsies with with me under the table. I never told Jake, but do you think I should? I don't want to ruin Jake and DJ’s friendship or anything.'

Hey Bianca,

It’s really good that you don’t want to mess with your guy’s friendship. That not only shows you respect yourself, but you respect your BF as well. Try to look at this situation from two points of view.

If you don’t tell your bf, he may get upset if he finds out later from his friend or someone else. As his GF, he trusts you’ll always be honest with him. If you don’t think it’s a big deal, then you don’t have to tell him. But make sure his friend understands you are not interested and if it happens again, you will tell your boyfriend.

On the other hand, if his friend’s behavior is making you feel uncomfortable, you should not only tell the friend, but your boyfriend as well. Make sure your guy understands you’re not asking him to choose between the two of you, but you deserve to be treated with respect. Your boyfriend sounds like a great guy, so hopefully he’ll teach his friend how to treat a lady!

Ciao bella,
L’Oreal
