Juno McGuff is the outspoken and totally smart-mouthed center of film phenomenon, Juno. She’s cool and smart—the kind of girl you could be friends with. When she finds out she’s pregnant, you feel her angst and pain, yet appreciate her outlook on life.Canadian actress Ellen Page dazzles as a quick-witted, sarcastic teen who finds herself in a very difficult position. Teen pregnancy is obviously a very serious topic, but Juno addresses it with heart, style and a sense of humor, without oversimplifying the issue. Thankfully, most teens to not end up in the same sitch as Juno, but viewers can still relate as she battles gossip, competes for her true love's heart and deals with her uber-wacky family at home. Finally, movie critics and high-schoolers have something in common: everybody loves Juno! In fact, the film received a Best Picture nod at the Academy Awards and took home the trophy for Best Original Screenplay. And now, it's coming to DVD. The PG-13 flick is out April 15. So didya catch it when it was in theaters? Or are you gonna check it out? Let us know!

oh my gosh i absolutely LOOOOOOOVE this movie it is the BEST! i saw it with my friends in theaters and then again with my mom in theaters. GREAT music, i discovered some new bands i love. (especially belle & sebastian!!!) and ellen page is an amazing actor. i love her character, juno - her sarcasm was on target and witty. and don't forget to mention hilarious! haha i sound like a critic. anyway i just love this movie and i definitely recommend it!

purpleflirt112~~~ no it doesn't show them having sex. near the beginning of the movie you see her feet, and her underwear drop to the ground. and you see his face, and some candles nearby. but that's it, there's nothing else. then it jumps to the next scene. it's sooo worth watching. it's an amazing movie and there's not much focus on the sex part of the movie, mostly just the pregnancy part and the finding of the adoptive parents. don't worry about it.

This movie sounds really good! Me and my friends r going to see 21 this weekend... we ALWAYS have to see what the guys want to see, and none of us girls hardly get a say! So, is the movie any good?
Posted by: ash_bash08 on 4/14/2008 4:20:59 PM
Sorry, can't remember if I ever asked, but does anyone know if the movie 21 is any good?
Posted by: ash_bash08 on 4/14/2008 4:21:33 PM
bookworm14~~~ i agree with the mod on this one. you have to know that there are real teenagers out there who are getting pregnant. and they're not all high school dropouts or excessive drinkers/party girls who have sex all the time. sometimes they're completely normal, ordinary girls like juno is in the movie... they have a best friend, a boyfriend they're having sex with for the first time, an odd but loving and supportive family, etc. it does exist, very often actually and it's becoming a problem. teen pregnancies happen at nearly every high school in the US and even some middle schools, so it would be wrong to just ignore the issue. also, the movie juno is definitely NOT promoting pregnancy. it is just portraying a real life situation. if anything, it is saying that teen pregnancy is BAD because it shows juno's struggle with her family, gossip and people at school, the baby itself, difficult decisions, and finding an adoptive parent. she has to decide whether to get an abortion or not and eventually she decides not to. also you shouldn't judge a movie if you haven't seen it before. on another topic, you may think that it isn't okay to have sex before marriage (although i'm sure there are many people who disagree with you), but it still happens and you can't pretend it doesn't.

I absolutely loved this movie!!!!! It was amazing I am really against abortion so I love how she chooses to give the baby up for adoption instead .. for those who have not seen it or for the people who did not likeit: it really shows how tough pregnancy is so I def think tht it is not promoting teen sex... I alsothink it thatit is good because it is so real ... Its not some fairytale like story it is like a real situation

MOD Thanks so much for the advice! I'm really excited about it now that I'm over the shock of moving to Australia. I'm just afraid what if my old friends in the US forget about me after 2 years? I'm going to try and keep in touch with them and everything. But I'm almost positive that they are going to make new friends and forget all about me. Then when I come back it'll be like being a new student all over again. Also what if I fall behind in school in Australia? I'm a straight A student here but in Australia they probobly teach differently then here so I might fall behind. Plus when I go to Australia (We're leaving at the end of July) it's going to be halfway between their school year. And since I'm in 5th grade now, I'll be going to 6th grade in Australia. But only for half a year because their school years are different then ours. So then I'm going to start 7th grade without even going to 6th grade for a whole year! Then I'm almost positive I'm going to fall behind. Also I was really nervous about starting middle school here in the states, and now I'm even more freaked out about starting middle school in Australia. And guess what my parents said? They might not even have 12 grades like they do in the USA. Then I'll be all messed up. What if I have to go to Elementary school again or go to high school or something crazy?!?!? Mod please help me with these problems! And if any girls out out there want to help a worried girl moving to Australia, I appreciated everyones advice. Thank-you.
Hey girl! Don't stress over all this. Your parents and teachers will make sure that everything works out for your best interest! You will make new friends, but your friends will never forget you and appreciate you that much more when you come back!...Renee

***MODS*** I don't mean to be rude, but I think this is NOT a good movie. I mean, come on, look at what it really is saying. It ok to have sex before marriage and its fine to have a baby too. Now to be fair I havn't seen it but still I THINK I have the gist of it. If I don't please someone do tell. I just wondered why you didn't mention any of those main thoughts from the movie? Thanks if you respond!
It shows an accurate portrayal of what its like for girls your age to be pregnant, which is a very REAL issues facing out youth to day. Yes, its about a girl who makes a bad decision and gets pregnant...but the point is that she has a baby and gives it to a woman so desperate to love a child. Its about growing up and what its like to be a pregnant teenage. I dont think it promotes teenage pregnancy, but we have to understand that it happens to people and to say thet teenage pregnancy is bad means cutting out the girls who have found themselves in the SAME exact situation, they are not bad people you know?

lifeisbetterblonde: dont think of moving to AU as something bad.. because even though you're moving to another country doesn't mean it's bad. you're SOO FORTUNATE to be able to go there (most people dont.. i got to, and i absolutely LOVED it) and LIVE there. and look on the bright side, you're gonna be back eventually.. so you've got the best of both worlds! i would be super excited to go! HAVE FUN!!! :]]
Posted by: hockeyhottie93 on 4/15/2008 1:38:41 PM
lifeisbetterblonde: also, don't stress about your friends forgetting about you.. as long as you keep in touch, you'll be great. and they do (i'm almost 100% positive) have grades up to twelve except they're called "years.." ex., you're in "year 5" and going into "year 7". but, as i learned from this 9-year old australian girl i stayed with, there is no such thing as a summmer vacation. they have long-er vacations, but not the whole summer long.

ok just saying but this movie is AMAZING i downloaded the soundtrack (heart) and it is the corniest yet most addicting thing you will ever hear and don't worry about your parents seeing it with you i know it's weird for your parents to bring up the subkect but just tell them you agree that what she did was wrong but you want to see this movie because it sounds like it has a great plot, and that you understand how irresponsible it is for someone to do that. Either way if you haven't see it. get out of your house and RUN to see it . LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is acualy not that bad. I saw it with my dad in the room and it was not as bad as i thought it would be. I think it was the feel good pregnacy film of the century. lol. And just to tell all of the people that don't want to see it because she gets pregnant, so there is going to be a sex scene, no it doesn't, becase remember, it is just PG-13. nothing more. go rent it. it will prevent you from getting pregnant in middle school or high school. now. go see it. now.
