My mom just told me that she and my dad are getting divorced! What!? I naturally ran off to my room, crying. I couldn’t take it. Why is this happening? Is there a way to keep them together? (PLEASE tell me there is). And, how can I cope? I feel so sad and depressed. I have no idea how I can deal. -polkadot111094
Aww, darling, I'm so sorry to hear you have to go through this. Divorces are one of the toughest things families can go through and are especially tough for the kids to deal with. I know you are shocked and confused right now and want them to stay together -- but I'm sorry to say that sometimes you just have to let go. Sometimes, it's for the best.You want your parents to be happy, right? You don't want them to stay together just for the sake of staying together if they're unhappy or don't love each other anymore. If they've decided that a divorce is their best option, it probably is. You have to trust that they are making the best choice for themselves and ultimately your entire family (because the way they feel inside will ultimately affect their relationship with the rest of your family).I know it hurts right now, but over time, you'll adjust to the changes and things will eventually get to feeling normal again. In the mean time, call on your friends for love and support. It always helps to have a shoulder to cry on and someone to listen to you rant and just get all of your feelings out. Don't be afraid to just let it all out -- but then dry your eyes and be strong. Moping around will only make you feel worse -- so try to make the best of the situation. And remember: it's going to be OK.

This must be really hard for you. I can just imagine the pain. Try to look on the bright side, at least you still have a mom and a dad! It is there decision to get a divorce, and you can't do anything about it. Maybe you could tell them how you feel about this. Take some time and just think about stuff if your overwhelmed, and call your friends for support. Everything will work out just fine! xoxo, Alexis

im so sorry! i know its hard, really hard. i have alot of friends whoese parents are divorced. they all tell me that its hard at first, but in the long run, it was better for the family. think about the good that might come out of this. you might have two rooms, youll have more 1 on 1 time with each of your parents...stay strong! you can always look to your friends for support too :]

I know what your going through, my parents got divorced when i was like 8. Its hard when it first happens, but when your parents are divorced, you have the chnces to do things kids whos parents arent divorced cant. For example you'll have 2 christmas's and 2 birthday parties. You'll even soon love how you go to your moms on one weekend and your dads on the other! i know what u mean but my parents have never gotten divoriced anyway al my friends that have parents that have gotten in a divorce thay say it is hard at first but then it is fine after a while

oh i know how u feel my mom told me that too but the best thing to do is to thing that theres a reason why they are getting a divorce. i think that its better for them to do so cuz then all of u are going to be suffering that ur parents are always fighting or ur mom is always crying.just know everythind is going to be alright and i know ur going to be sad but dont let that bring u down and help ur mom cope with the pain of hurting you and your family

MOD hey my parents have been divorced for about two years and now my dad is starting to date. but its really wierd because hes dating his step cousin. she has 3 kids and there really nice but im not sure about her. also she smokes and everyone in my family has asma except my dad. and i cant really talk to my dad about it because he says imn just gonna have to deal with it and learn to like it and not to complain. what should i do?

~MOD~ All my friends ever talk about are boys, clothes, makeup, and going out. I'm interested in these subjects, but that's all they talk about! They don't even talk to me about these topics, so when one of them talks to me we usually have nothing to talk about. They talk about who they're going out with and stuff, which makes me feel sad because I've never had a BF. I do have two BFFs who are like me and don't talk about these stuff, but all they do is listen to our other friends talk! I feel left out and it's like my friends are leaving me behind. What should I do?

MOD I made a really bad mistake today!! So, me and my friends are in this fight, and I sent a note to this one girl who's been giving me a really hard time(WAY worse than the rest of my "friends")and it said a bunch of really bad stuff about her and the rest of the girls. I saw her today passing the note around to EVERYONE!! the only reason I gave her a note instead of talking to her is because, every time I do talk to her she walks away completly ignoring me. At first the note was just a way to get my anger out, but I had this idea to send it to her, now I totally regret it!!!! I can't say sorry to her because she started this whole fight, and I don't feel like I'm the one who has to apoligize. what should I do?? everyone's going to think I'm a jerk!
Hey girl! That's a tough one, but you CAN apologize first. Taking the first step to make things right doesn't neccessarily make it her job, even though it may seem like it is. If your friends treat you differently because of what you said, you could explain to them that it was only out of anger and frustration and whatever else you were feeling. Hope that helps! --Avery

MOD im kinda frustrated. i've liked my crush scince the beginning of the year. ***MOD*** I have this "friend" who is soooo compeditive. Today we were in science class and our teacher was reading off grades and I got an B+ and she got a C-. When she heard what me and her got she gave me the dirtiest look. And whatever I do she does too just to see if she can do it better. Its very annoying. So i don't know if I should really consider her as a "friend" or just try to forget about it and move on. Thanks soooo much!!

#%$@#%MOD@#$ my cousin has a form of autism but he so smart they have him in the regular classes. hes in my class. mostly everyone in my class makes fun of him and im really close to my extended family so hes like a brother to me and it hurts. there is this group of kids who ALWAYS make fun of him. i gets me mad and really upset so i end up cryin in school. i hate it, they call him (his name) down syndrom or they make funof the way he acts aand becuase hed rather sit alone nd read than hangout with girls. he thinks these kids are his freinds and sometimes he doesnt relize that theyre makin fun of him. he just doesnt understand. i hate it. nd i cant say anything to these kids cuz ill get myself in trouble. idk who to talk to. i told my aunts (one being his mom) my mom nd my grama. they ask me if the teachers ever hear them i dont think they do. i just want them to stop. can u help me? thanks-

that's awesome that you feel for your cousin. but if you want to you can definately confront those kids after class or just one of them and let them know how much it's hurting you to see them make fun of your cousin like that. however, if you feel uncomfortable doing that you should talk to a counsellor at your school about your concerns. they'll deifnately do something about that. *Sarah

moddy hey. i have this problem. last week, this guy asked me out. i said no. well, we had a play, (hes stage crew and im acting) and he wouldnt stop following around back stage. we played hug spin the bottle at baskin robins, and he did this really weird thing where he picked up the bottle and pointed it at me. he does wierd stuff like this all the time know. iv talked to him about it, but he wont stop. he even gave me this big speach about how his friends think im a dork and weird but he still likes me. HELP!
even if you tried to give him this talk and it still doesn't work, maybe try pretending you like him back and it'll catch him off gaurd. it sounds like he's doing some harmless flirting but if it's really bothering you talkt o him once more a little more seriously this time and see if he gets the message. *sarah

Mod**** I'm playing in a spring basketball league. my coach is really grouchy, but he never teaches us anything. If i help with the ball during a game, i get yelled at, if i dont, i get yelled at. idk wat 2 do 2 please him anymore. Any suggestions? o, nd wen does the new GL issue come out? thnks!
You should talk to him seriously and don't let him put you down like that. just keep practicing during practice and show him what you've got. but i think you should really give him a talk or have your mom talk to him.*Sarah
