EDITOR'S BLOG: What's 4 Lunch?

I’m obsessed with lunch. Around 11:00, I start to ask the other GL girls what they’re gonna be eating midday. Inevitably, I’m disappointed with my own brown bag special (aka whatever I threw together in the a.m.).

Not this week. I spent a li’l extra time prepping my lunches at night. My fave healthy lunch of the moment? A mini plate of cashews, dried cranberries, whole wheat toast and hummus (I totally snagged the idea from one of our go-to lunch spots in the ‘hood). And then a cup of tomato soup and a side salad.

This week, we’re supposed to be makin’ new goals, too. Here are mine:


-Start training for a 5+ mile race for the fall
-Do yoga at home 3 nights a week
-Drink more H20

So, what’s your fave healthy lunch? What are your new goals for the summer and early fall?

My lunch consists of water, vanilla yogurt, some type of fruit, and soy crisp chips. Yum!

well, for lunch today i had..
a soy-protein pita with honey maple turkey, lettuce, and this REALLY GOOD Alouette spinach-artichoke spreadable cheese stuff; a banana; and popcorn!! YUMM.

I love Lemon Yogurt with Grahm Crackers in it. So Good. And then some low calorie chips or pretzels and some h2o. Goals...Start running more, get EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS on MCAS, and let's see...Train my dog. (She's such a monster!)

When I'm home to eat lunch, I love making whole wheat pasta w/ cherry tomatoes, edamame beans, and olive oil. It's soooo good!

See I have this problem, I am a SUPER picky eater. I really dont like anything that is healthy for you and I feel like i should be eating healthy foods. I dont like many fruits, vegetables, meats/poultry, NOTHING! I exercise as much as I can but all my friends still tell me I am skinny and should not worry about my weight but I always feel like I am too fat. Can you help me please? I really want to become more healthy but am afraid I will just turn back. HELP!

My favorite lunch is a delly turkey saled. With a dab of lowfat dressing. Flavored water and an apple with penut butter.

I like ham wraps with lettuce, tomato, a dab of honey mustard, and mayo. Eat an apple, a few strawberries, or a banana with water or fruit juice and you are good to go!

My goals are to flaten my tummy (I"m 110 pounds and a little insure about me and my tummy, I do not like my roll), stay in shape from track this summer and stop snacking so much

I LOVE fruits and veggies and am a sucker for anything healthy!!

I love salads with tons of veggies, some cheese, tomatoes, croutons, etc. (I'm a vegetarian btw)My goal is to tone-up a bit u kno arms, abs, butt, etc. Also to get some more sleep and try to eat breakfast everyday...;) Good luck with ur goals everyone!!!!

I love to eat a lean turkey sandwhich with a piece of fruit and maybe some carrots. I am not a big luch person so I normally have a bigger breakfast and dinner. But right now, I am working on not having so many snacks and getting better at portion sizes! My goals, definately to get more exercise.

I am a super picky eater. I barely eat veggies and meat. I eat some fruits ocasionally. I have been trying to eat healthier, but it is just to hard. I also don't work out. I am very bad at runnig. I am not very skinny in the stomach area. It is almost bikini season, but i don't have a bikini bod. Please give me some help and advice.

u should cut foods like soda, chips, and stuff high in sodium out of ur diet. Sodium makes u retain water so u get bloated. dont eat too much stuff with refined flour, and dont eat anything with sugar as the 1st ingredient. 4 exercise, cardio and situps r good 4 getting a bikini body (my friend who does have 1 told me this, i dont have 1 either). Good luck girlie!

no prob also turkey-lettuce wraps r good and they have like no calories. A big lettuce leaf only has like 5 calories. Carrots r my fave they rock!

my new goals are
1.Stop hating my body
2.Run 2/6 miles everyday or do aerobics if the weather is crummy
3. Strength train 3 times a week
4. drink more water
5. Eat more fruits and veggies
6. Be kind to myself when I fail.

5. Do yoga every Saterday

6. Eat right

7. Ice cream once a week (instead of everyday)

I used to be a really strong cross country runner , but not so much anymore. Here are my top three goals to get back into having a masculine bod and feeling really good about myself:

1. Pay more attention to my eating habits and how much I eat, and substitute in healthier foods in place of some of the junk.

2. Find an excercise routine that works for me, and don't abandon it after only a week.

3. Stop comparing myself to superskinny girls. This is so hard, but it's essential. If I don't tackle this now, it's just going to keep making me more and more obsessive in time.

My fav lunch is, well, I don't really have ONE fav lunch, I have a few. I like salad with grilled chicken on top, I like grilled cheese made with whole wheat bread and soycheese and low-fat cheese with some seasonal fruit on the side, and I like those Kashi frozen meals A LOT. The one thing I have to have with all of those is chilled green tea sweetened with Splenda (I can't use honey because I found out that I could possibly be diabetic :-().

Once my period was really heavy and I made sure to double up with a tampon and pad. Later that day at school, my crush walked up to me and asked me what was on the back of my pants. I didn't know what he was talking about, so I ran to the bathroom. When I came back, I had to tell him it was ketchup.
