My hair is extremely rough, split-ended, and crinkly, but my scalp is like an oil mine! If I wash my hair on a Wednesday morning, it's greasy and oily by Thursday afternoon. My mom told me to keep conditioner off the roots and only apply it to the ends, which I tried, but that hasn't really helped. Is there any way for me to keep my hair soft and un-crinkly without making my scalp any oilier?-Anonymous
Expert Advice From Nelson: Be sure to keep conditioner off of the scalp and use a scalp shampoo to cleanse. Refrain from washing hair every day, which makes the scalp dry and then it overproduces oil.
