MOD: I started my period in the fourth grade (at about age 9 or 10) and over the years, it's almost always been irregular. Now I'm in 9th grade (age 15) so I've been having them for about five years (still irregular). I haven't had a period since July of this year (about 5 months ago) and I'm a bit worried. I feel kind of uncomfortable telling my mom, and the thought of having to see my doctor about it freaks me out. Also, if my situation might be seriousand I have to see my doctor, what will they do to find out what's wrong with me? Thank you.

Hey girl! You should prob head in to see the doc. It probably is nothing (sometimes a period can be thrown off by diet or stress). But, just in case, a doc will check you out to make sure everything is A-OK. No worries, they do that kind of stuff every day and every gal has to go through it! They're there to help ya out so they will know what to do!

I got my first period last november, my second in july, and havent had one since. is this normal?
also, i dont think my boobs have grown in about two years! i am so freaked out and scared that theres something wrong with me!

Hey girl! It's totally normal... it will take a few years for your period to regulate itself.

So I got my period last month (we think) and so far what I BELIEVE is my period has come at the end of the month for (I think) 3 months. I was just wondering, even though every girl's body is different, for the first year or so, does irregularity usually mean your period comes back earlier or later than it was the last time? Hey girl! It prob does mean you will soon. Those are all really good signs. All girls develop differently though, so just be patient! I bet you get it soon!

MOD MOD MOD! Ok well i got my First period about 66 days ago.. and haven't gotten it since.. i know that is kinda normal for the first year.. but the thing is that i think i have an infection but i cant go to the doctor.. its like discharge mixed with something that looks like Blue-ish fuzz? HELP!

Hey girl! You should def go see a doc. It is normal to not have your period every month for the first year, but you should talk to a professional about your sitch!

MODMODMOD ok, so i heard eating a lot of soy can affect your period. well i recently went vegetarian, so i now eat soy on almost a daily basis and i think it may have affected my period in some way. do you know the changes it makes?

Hey chicky, sit your mom and tell her. If you don't want to do it face to face, write her a note, send an email or text it to her. There's nothing to be shy or nervous about. Your mom is a woman and went through the same thing, so she'll be able to offer a lot of help.

mod, mod mod!!! My tummy and bum have been hurting. I have had orange and yellow stuff in my pant. I get mood swings. Its also hard to concentrate, I have hair in the you know what and my boobs are tender. I have been told it is the start to a period. But I am not sure, is it?

Hey gal, I think you should head to the doctors to see what's wrong. Because you don't want to be walking around being sick and not getting any medicine. So ask your 'rents to take you.

oh yeah i have this white stuff on my underwear sometimes it's liquid-ish & sometimes it is like clumpy. so umm... do i have a yeast infection and i shaved my (you know what)(where my period comes from) but it itches me is that normal too?I REALLY NEED ADVICE PLEASE!

Hey girl, all those things are normal. Your period tends to be irregular in cycle the first couple years. That white stuff is discharge, not a yeast infection. Shaving down there does tend to cause a bit of itching. Keep your eye out though -- if you keep getting your period twice a month, you might need to talk to your doc about it. It's okay to be off once in a while, but not every month, girlie.

Well, I got mine last year during the summer. It lasted for two moths and then It went away. It came back this year in June and stopped at after august.
Is this something I should worry about?

This is nothing to be worried about! It's definitely normal to have irregular periods, especially when you're first starting. If the problem continues and you are still worried, I would go to the doctor!

Hey girl, the thing about braces is everyone has them -- you'll find people don't even notice as much as you think and in the end you'll have that perf smile. In the meantime, though? Try bringing out your eyes with a bit of eye make-up -- pearl eyeshadow and a bit of mascara. You'll find, however, that braces aren't a biggie. You're still and will always be beautiful, girlie!

I got my period i sixth grade in P.E. Then I got it once more a few months later. Ever since then I have been getting a discharge. Now I am in the eighth grade and all of my friends are always whining about their period and Iam not sure if theres something wrong with me. I am super skinny and like 5'5''. But Idont want to go to the doctor because my doctor is a guy, and its really embarrassing to talk about this kind of thing. Plus my family doesn't have any health insurance. I'm not sure what to do. HELPPPPP!!!!

I was very skinny growing up and very athletic, so I didn't get my period very often. That might have something to do with the fact that you haven't really gotten yours yet. Okay this is awkward...
I have a 32A size bra and on my nipples there are tiny little bumps all over. What does this mean? Am I going to get my period soon? Because I already have hair down there, I've had discharge for about 2 years now, I have hair under my armpits, and my mom got it when she was in seventh grade but my sister got it in fifth. I'm in seventh now.

My sister got her's March of 6th grade. I got mine just a few weeks ago but I got it one day, but I havent ogt it since. And, the week before I got my period, I had a tummyache and felt really sick. Do you think that will happen again? Will I get my period again? I'm afraid that was it, one day of having my period and BAM! Never having it in my life again!

Hey girl, your period will start with a light flow, so don't sweat it. My advice? When you think you're close to it (PMS, cramps, discharge, etc.), start wearing a pantyliner. That way, you'll be ready. Be sure to keep pads on you too. It's always better to be prepared. You'll be fine, promise!

It's really normal for your period to be irregular for the first few years, even if it was regular at the beginning, but if you've changed your diet a lot recently, that might have something to do with it.

Hey girl! Well if you're going to a pool party, you can try using a tampon. It can be kidna scary at first, but if you just relax, it'll be fine. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do though. So you could always sit on the side and dip your feet in or just chat with some friends instead. Best, Kristen

Hey girl, that's totes normal. It's natural for girl's cycles to be irregular when they first start getting their period. Don't sweat it and make sure you have some pads on you just in case it takes you by surprise.

Yep, girl, this is totally normal. It could be spotting, which sometimes happens in between cycles. And sometimes I'll get a false alarm and then my real period a few days later. Wait it out, girlie, and wear a pantyliner until the real thing comes. Best, Miliana
