Pads vs. Tampons

I use tampons. Am I still a virgin?

Why wouldn’t you be? A virgin is someone who’s never had sex, not someone who’s never used a tampon. Using a tampon can break or stretch the hymen. But even if it breaks, you’re still a virgin.

Hey missy, the amount of times you change your tampon really depends upon your period. So if you usually have a heavy flow, you may have to change more times during the day. If your flow is small or not that heavy you can leave your tampon on longer, so it really depends upon your bod. But just to be on the safe side, pack extra tampons!

You don't necessarily develop at the same time or speed as your mom and sisters though it's usually a pretty good indicator. Your period is about your body getting ready to make babies.

using a tampon is much easier than you think it just takes practice and once you get it it a lot cleaner than using pads and youll feel more comfortable than in a bulky pad. read the directions on the box and if you need to to look at the (ugh) diagram just relax hope this helped

try wearing a panty liner and a tampon just in case you tampon leaks. panty liners arent as bulky as pads

For those girls who can't seem to get a tampon in the trick is to relax. If you are all stressed out you will start freaking out and not be able to put it in all the way. When I first tried a tampon it was like halfway out. I asked my mom why that was and she said it was because my body had cramped up, not letting it get all the way in.

I usually have a normal to very heavy flow. I have used tampons for a few years, but a little blood still comes out. I am possitive I am putting it in right but, am I just too late when I change?

I don't really get why everyone is so worried. I've only had my period like 5 times, but i started using tampons the second time i got it. THey dont hurt. If you can't see where to put the tampon in, just use a mirror.

Read the instructions on the back of the tampon box! That tells you every single step to take. You might not be putting it in enough if it's coming out when you go to th ebathroom.

Stupid Myths, one girl in our group was actually trying to say that using tampons was just like losing your virginity and it depended on the size you used. She was saying if you used big tampons you lost your virginity and if you used thinner ones you didnt.

The only reason I thought she was saying that was maybe with a wider or bigger tampon she thought it might be easier to break your hymen with it or with using a bigger tampon it felt more like what sex feels like.

I use tampons and I have no problem and I know that I havent lost my virginity because of them.

the only pain from a tamponis of its too big or you put it in wrong (whcih is very hard to do by the way!) i would start out with a lite tampon and go from there! you just have to do and not overthink it! hope this helps ;)

Just because your hymen breaks, doesn't mean your not a virgin. Hymens can break from a lot of things, even sports. You're only not a virgin if you've had sex.

Hey babe, you would still be able to put it in. You can always try tampons and if you don't like them you can stick with pads. Many girls do.

Hey girl, first of all, you have to get rid of that fear. Tampons need time to get used to and if you read the directions then you will be fine. Also try talking to your friend or mom who already uses tampons. They'll be able to comfort you about the use of it. <3 Jeannie

When I change my tampon when my period's lighter, after I take out the applicator, there's gross stuff on it. It's a cream-ish color, almost like discharge, but I know it's not the same.
Is this normal for other girls, too, or just me?

You probably inserted it into fast or your body is too nervous to deal with it. Read the directions again, slip it in all the way and try again. If your scared, then don't force yourself to wear a tampon, wear pads for awhile until you are ready.<3 Sherryn D.
