Is This Normal

My period stops after three days, and then it starts again. Is this normal?

If you get your period for three days, it stops for a day and then reappears for a couple days, no worries.

If you have spotting in the middle of your cycle, however, you’re likely experiencing irregular bleeding. Back to the doctor.

These are your reproductive organs, and you really shouldn’t ignore anything that seems amiss. Though sharing your irregularities with your doctor might be a bit embarrassing, it’s really important. You want to take good care of your body. It’s the only one you’ve got!

My second period was way out of orders. First it would bleed for one day and then stop for four! And it did this like 3-4 times! And even after that my period was 10 days, and my pad was soaked after 3 hours. I really think that something is wrong. Please help ASAP!

Hey babe, That's actually pretty normal for the first few years. Your period will probably become more regular after that.

I think there's somthing wrong with me! The first period i had it was pretty heavy....the second was also heavy. My mom said that the first one was pretty heavy for a first time. What is going on?

my period is very very VERY heavy
and i would like to know which brand of PADS are the most absorbent so i wont leak through my pants in school.and my mom told me to wait a year until my period is regular to use tampons. is she right? Thanks a whole bunch!!!

No, they don't. Your period just lasts longer sometimes. It will be really irregular for the first few years, so it's nothing to worry about.

Hey girl! If you are drinking a lot when you have your period, it will be normal and it might be a different color then it normally is.

Hey girl! You might want to talk to a doctor, but it is abnormal. Unless its your first year because your period is always irregular the first year.

MOD MOD MOD MOD ive had my period for almost 2 yrs now and its always been rly irregular (like 3 weeks once or 5weeks a dif time) but my period itself is perty regular. the first 2 days are heavy. the third its practically gone. then days 4&5 are super light. but this time its rly weird. i noticed a lil blood on sunday. so expecting the normal i grabbed a thick pad. but sunday, monday, n tuesday passed with only a lil bit of blood n sum brownish stuff??? (i get the brown stuff on day 4&5 sumtimes) but then today i wake up and there is a LOT of blood and its rly rly heavy. is this ok? also. i play competitive bball but im scared to wear a tampon. should i just suck it up or since i wear compression shorts, am i ok?

Hey girlie,

Plenty of girls have irregular periods for no reason. But you might want to check with the doc just to maek sure everything's okay. If your period is super heavy, you might want to try a tampon. But if it's not, just stick to pads!

Just like she said I would start off just doing the bikini area and that depends on what type of bottoms you wear and how much they cover. But I have been shaving for a while and went from shaving just some of it to shaving all of it and it is very common among the people I know to shave all of it off. Its your personal preference.

MOD!!! I just got my second period ever two days ago. I had my first one back in June.. but I was bleeding A TON today! Any way to make for certain I wont bleed through my pad? Also is it abnormal to have to pee a lot during your period? And how many times per day should I change my pad? Thanks so much!

Hey girl! You should be drinking lots of water when you have your period! Change your pad as much as you feel is comfortable!

periods are unpredictable no matter what! but weird things will happen if you drastically change your diet--your body might have gone into a little bit of a shock. Not too good! Make sure you're eating a healthy, balanced diet even on weightwatchers. Your period should come back soon, but it will stay away if your body isn't getting the right nutrition. Careful!

Spotting is when you think you have your period and bleed spontaneously but don't have the full period week of bleeding. Spotting is completely normal during the first few years of your period as they can tend to be irregular. As for having your period for 3 weeks could mean something is wrong but it could not. The best way to know for sure is ask your Mom or doctor!

well i have had my period for a little more than a year and this month i only had 1 "off week" if you know what i mean. then i started again yeaterday. like the end of my last period was may 13th but then i started again may 26th so there was only 1 week in between! is that normal are weird? plzzzz help! thanx

Hey, girl. Since you've only had your period for a year so far, it is bound to be a little abnormal. Do not worry about having only 1 off week! If things continue to be a little off track for a long time, then rethink it. But that is totally normal- do not worry!

Hey girl,

Everyone's periods are different, and they can be irregular and completely unpredictable for the first year or so. A month seems a little long though...if it was only that long when your period was first starting, I wouldn't worry, but if your periods are still a month long I would talk to a doctor.

MOD help please. i got mi period this last summer.Since then my period has been on track. My last period was weird. THe first 2 days it was COMPLETELY brown then one day red. Then when i though it ended it came back after two day and it was redish brown. HELP PLZZ WATS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

Hey girl, yes, this is normal. The first couple of years you get your period are not usually regular and the brown stuff is normal. If you're concerned though, def tell your mom and see a doc!
