Yummy treats to make for the kids and you! Always make sure you ask the ‘rents for permission first before using their kitchen and to clean up the mess afterwards. CRISPY, CREAMY ICE CREAM SANDWICHES
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine (do not use soft-spread margarine) 1 (10-ounce) bag marshmallows 1 teaspoon vanilla 6 cups crispy rice cereal 1/2 cup decorating sprinkles or multicolored coated chocolate candies (optional)
-Spray a medium saucepan with nonstick cooking spray. -Melt butter or margarine with marshmallows in pan, stirring often. Make sure kids are away from the heat. -Stir in vanilla and add cereal before removing from heat. -Stir together until a large ball begins to form. Add candies or sprinkles, if desired. Keep the kiddies involved by asking them to help with sprinkles! -Scoop mix into a 9 x 13-inch pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. -Flatten, then chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. -Remove from refrigerator and cut into 2-inch squares. -Put a small scoop of ice cream on top of one square and top with another square. Trim off extra ice cream so it is square. -Press together and eat right away! Voila! Ice cream sandwiches!
