Healthy You Program

HEALTHY YOU PROGRAM: WEEK 45

Yes! Look amazing by the holidays!

Crisp air and still-long days are a perfect pairing for amazing workouts. Follow our plan and by the time the holidays roll around, you'll be givin' thanks that you feel oh-so fabulous.

Week 45: Start New Traditions

The holidays don’t have to mean a month-long nutritional nightmare. Instead of focusing on the dessert table, go retro and get back to the roots of Turkey Day. The healthy way to thank the fam? Offer to whip up simple veggie dishes. Check out our Tasty Eats! for recipes. Start a new, fit tradition like a pre-dinner road race for the cousins or kids vs. adults soccer game.

Blog it out... Have a healthy family fun tradition of your own? Share the deets, us fitness femmes wanna know!

MOD or peeps: I don't know what workouts I should do. There are a bunch on this website(thanks), but I don't know which one I should do since I am doing the healthy you program over(thanks for the advice Sherryn D.).

Hey babe,
Do a work out that matches up to how much you weigh, how much you can work out and what will give you the best results.Hope this helps.<3 Sherryn D.

MOD or peeps: I stopped doing the healthy you program and I was wondering if I have to start all over or do I pick up where I left of?

Hey Babe,
Just start it back up again but don't go full force on it. Do it gradually.<3 Sherryn D.

Hey, does anybody (mods included) have any ideas for sports for girls who don't like sports? Honestly, I use enough of my energy trying to walk right (total klutz... fell off my bed yesterday, then tripped over a wire as I stood up). I have high cholesterol through genetics and I need to exercise. But I loathe going to the gym! I get so uncomfortable because I'm the only kid there cuz my mom had to get me a doctor's note. Plus, I just don't like the exercises. I'd rather do something fun with my friends.

Any ideas? I'm desperate here! My mom said she knows I hate it and will cancel my membership, but I need something to do to stay fit! Are there dance classes for beginners for 13 year olds? Can I stay in shape by just going to the mall every weekend (haha, jk about that... though... is it possible?)? I don't like sports or exercise and I've been trying to search things, but I don't know where to start! I've done cheerleading (not going back), I dropped out of karate years ago (used to love it, lost interest) and did dance when I was younger but stopped because I couldn't stand recitals. Help!

*Kait*
Just take it one day at a time or even one meal at a time. Maybe even plan ahead in a notebook and write what healthy things you could add to your diet. good luck!!

Hey! My family has a huge breakfast and then we skip lunch and go on a long walk to get a log for a center piece at our table on Turkey Day. We come home and have dinner at 4pm!!

hey rubber duckyxo,
last year i wanted to be on the track team at my school. I wasn't the best at running and I felt like i was super slow and that I was running out of breath really easily. So I started to jog around my neighborhood.
After awhile it seemed like I wouldn't run out of breath so easily. It was like my lungs were getting stronger-or I was just getting used to it.
Some things that I do to get abs-and to get ready to hit the pool for summer- are doing things like sit ups, and the bicycle. The bicycle is kind of like doing a sit up but you put your hands behind your head and then you lift up your elbo and the opposite knee and you touch them together. I usually do about 20-40 reps of those a night.

i know this is alot of info but I hope it helped a little.

Thanksgiving isn't exactly my favorite time of year. I'm super thankful I live in America, doubly more since I watched Blood Diamond a few minutes ago. But the family I visit every Thanksgiving is not so awsome. I don't feel close to them and my cousins are really annoying. Its kinda a ordeal that everyone in my close family feels like we HAVE TO do just for the sake of my grandma even though none of us really like that side of the family. Since its the only time of the year that my dad sees his parents and brother he's always really angry, strict, and mean to me cause I guess he wants to impress them. Trust me, he's done fine. My uncle and his kids are dreadful. But they are always trying to stuff me up so much on Thanksgiving. Its like if I don't eat 5 lbs than I'm not eating enough to be healthy in their eyes. There's a reason that my cousin is super fat and I'm not. I don't like pigging out and I don't like being under close watch and being yelled at. Thanksgiving is what I dread all year and its approuching. Great.

Ok,
First off I want to thank GL for being so supportive and helping all of us girls. The healthy you program has really inspired me to eat healthier and to excersize more often. The first time I had seen the healthy you program was sometime this summer. Ever since that it has changed the way I feel about myself. I'm more confident after I work out and I feel less stressed out. I was overweight but now I'm getting closer to being at a better weight for me.
Again I just want to thank GL for all of the
support!

thanks,
~*sweetreddancer*~

Do you think the WiiFit would be a good workout system?

Hey there girlie, I think it sounds like a great workout, but super expensive. Might wanna have a talk with your parents about it and see how they feel. xo Annemarie
