This week on G-Life, we’re thinking up
new holiday traditions. Last year, I ran my first-ever turkey trot on Thanksgiving. This year, the tradition is growing—my little bro is joining me!
I’m actually pretty nervous. What if it gets competitive?
Growing up, my brother and I were way diff. He’s quiet, I’m loud. He’s big, I’m small. Even when we were both on the track team, he threw shot put and I ran the mile. No rivalry in sight.
But when my bro joined the Army, he started to run. Fast. Uhh, isn’t that my thing? And now that we’re running this race, there’s a chance he might beat me at my own game. Gulp!
Instead of letting the boy step on my track spikes, I’m gonna use this challenge as motivation. Maybe he’ll push me to beat my old time and if not, at least I’ll be doing lotsa cardio.
No matter which Abbo wins, it’ll be fun to do something together. But that doesn’t mean I’ll let him beat me without a mad dash to the finish line!
Healthy Hearts,
