By now you've probably heard the news...we've got the winter blues. But this time we're talking eyeshadow, sistah. The ultimate eye trend this winter is icy blue hues. Here's how to get bold blue peepers without going overboard.
 
Three rules to ALWAYS follow:
 
1. Never match your shadow to your eye color. We want you to stand out, not your makeup.
2. Don't match your shadow to your clothes. It tends to look a little tacky, especially with a vibrant color like blue.
3. Subtlety is the name of the game, sistah!
 
Fair Skin

Medium Skin
Darker tones like navy blue look fab on medium skin tones. Icy, silvery-blues are another go-to hue for medium skinned gals. Dark Skin

wow but wouldnt you look like dolly parton if you wear blue eyeshadow I mean i wear black and brown and i am trying to branch out.

I just bought some really bright azure blue eye shadow this weekend and tried it out against my dark skin. It looks so cool and daring! Smile

Thanks for the hair tips (im gonna wear my hair in the 50's pony tommorow) but any ideas how to wear your hair down or in a bun??

 

 

Hey Chickie,

 

What about trying a low bun thats slightly off to the side.  For wearing your hair down you can pull back a section on either side away from your face,  braid them and pin them together in the back.  It's a really pretty look that doesn't take much time to pull off.

thanks for all the help so far but I got one more question. I have medium length hair (like to my shoulders) with some long layers and long side bangs. What are some cute ways to wear my hair? I really dont like wearing my bangs down either.

 

 

Hey Girlie,

 

Well one super cute updo is a 50's inspired pony tail.  Pull your hair up into a pony tail, leaving all your bangs down and take one strand (width of your pinky) and wrap it around the elastic holding your pony tail.  Take your bangs, twist the ends, puff and secure with a clip.

How do you cover up a pimple without making my face cakey looking?? thankz

 

 

Hey Girl,

 

I always find that before you even use anything to cover a pimple up its best to use a bit of face exfoliate (apricot scrub works well), it'll take away any dead skin flakes and help clear the area for the make up. Use a tiny bit of a green stick (neutrogena is great, looks like a green lipstick) and this will lessen the red pigment of the pimple and finally apply a thin layer of foundation.  Always remember to apply thin layers of the products so it doesn't cake.
