Nope! According to officials at Wrigley, makers of Big Red and Juicy Fruit, it only takes a few days to digest when you accidentally swallow a wad of the chewy stuff. Chewing gum consists of five basic ingredients, four of which dissolve in your mouth—flavor, sweeteners, corn syrup and softeners. The fifth ingredient, gum base, doesn’t dissolve but eventually passes through your system undigested, much like fiber.

Is it bad that I swallow at least six pieces a day at my school? I don't like raising my hand so I just swallow my gum. I'm scared now! Is this bad!?

i personally think its gross when people swollow their gum the only time i ever swollow my gum is on accident.....but i am glad that it doesn't take 7 years to digest
