The day of L-O-V-E is almost here! You're probably busy running around and planning for the big day but don't forget to take a breather and remember some of your best V-Day moments. From dreamy dates with a BF, to perfect prezzies from a BFF, to relaxin' with the 'rents – GL editors share some of their fave hearts holiday moments.

I was studying in France and my BF at the time, who was back in the US, decided to send me a care package filled with a teddy bear, my favorite V-Day candy and a CD of pics to remind me of home. Only problem is I didn’t actually get it until three months later when I came back. It was returned to him in the mail because of customs. 

 

I had been dating my boyfriend for almost a year and I can be a brat sometimes. The night before Valentine's Day we were talking on the phone and he was asking me what we were going to do the next day and I replied, "Oh well no one has asked me to be their Valentine yet so I am trying to keep my options open." He was blown away by how serious I was. The next day between classes I got a text from him telling me to go down to the front desk in my dorm building. He was nowhere in sight but there was a huge bouquet of roses with a note saying, "Will you be my Valentine?" I immediately called him to say yes. He had planned an amazing dinner at his place cooked by his roommate who went to culinary school and gave me a stunning necklace with a single black pearl and little diamond on a silver chain. Perfection!

 

I told an old boyfriend that all I wanted for V-day was kisses so he filled a gallon zip lock bag with Hershey's kisses. I was very impressed with his cleverness!

 

The best V-Day gift I've ever received is hands down an adorable white, stuffed dog with pink hearts on it.  The  hearts totally match my room, but that's beside the point.

 

Last year my boyfriend and I got dressed up for a date at the Cheesecake Factory downtown. His dad owns a boat rental place so afterwards he surprised me and took me out on a boat in the inner harbor. We ate our left-over cheesecake and he gave me the most amazing promise ring that I wear every day!

 

My BF took me to a super-nice dinner and then to see a play. The dinner and show were both fabulous – plus I got to dress up! Very romantic and fun.

 

I don’t celebrate with boyfriends, and never have. But I exchange Valentines with my BFF Betsy.

 

It wasn’t Valentine’s but one crush gave me a Winnie the Pooh toothbrush holder. It’s not like I am super into Winnie the Pooh or anything but it was really cute and he was never the type to give cute gifts to anyone. The fact  that he took the time to pick it out and wrap it up still makes it a fave. I still have it, as a matter of fact.

 

My mom always buys a gift that the whole family can share. My fave was a waffle maker – she makes amazing chocolate chip waffles, but you can only eat them like once a year.
