Ever since I got my period, I think about having kids when I get older. I even had a couple dreams about it!

MacCauley, family therapist and mental health educator. “These thoughts are part of a woman’s development.” Your mind is “projecting” into the future, which is common. Anything can trigger it. Ever had a crush on a boy and start imagining his last name with your first name? Same thing.

Just don’t confuse daydreaming with reality. You have many dreams to follow through on before you are ready for that one.

Hey girl, the thing to do is not worry about it. It's no biggie when it comes. Just keep some pads and pantyliners on you and you'll be fine.

Hey babe,

If that's the kind of period you've always had then that's what's normal for you. If this is something that has changed recently then you might want to ask a doctor, but I don't think there would be anything wrong. sometimes it's just heavier or longer than others, the same way some girls have heavier or longer periods than other girls.

I got my period on easter when i was in eigth grade. Ever since then, I have seemed to get my period only every two months. I'm now a sophomore in high school and it's still the same. What's happening? And sometimes, it even goes past that. I do get discharge sometimes, but still.

Ok, a few weeks ago, I got this really weird dreem that Mitchel Musso went to my school and we were walking by eatchother and somebody pushed us down and we landed ontop of eachother...Is that a regular dreem or what you would call a "period dreem"? Cause in the end he helpt me stand up and kissed me....

Ok, I'm 11 years old and I got my first piriod in July. Now, whenver I get it, I get really shy and I still don't want to tell anybody. I only told my mom so far, and I think only one girl in my grade has gotten her period. I really don't want to tell anybody, but I know I should. What if one of my friends asks me if I have got it yet? I dont want anybody to make fun of me, or avoid me becuase I have got it. I really need help! Love, popcorn159

Hey girl, it's hard to say when for sure it will come back, but def less than a couple of months. Just take care of yourself and you'll be fine. Irregular periods are totes normal.

Okay, I am eleven, and I have had aches down there like crud! I really want to hurt someone when it happens! Could it maybe be cramps? They hurt and the bathroom trips in school keep adding up! Does anyone know if using tampons when we are young help when we are older or ready to start having sex. And do the tampons have to be the bigger size for them to help?

Because I had a strange dream that I was telling someone that it does help or I was in one of those half dream states where I was thinking that it helped.

Hey girl! Sounds like you have some good signs. But, every girl is different so it's hard to pinpoint when you'll get it! Be patient, girl. You don't have to be afraid, you'll know when you get it!

******************** MOD ****************** Hey im 12 , 13 in december and ive been scared of getting my period but i kind of want it to come anyway to feel older and that. Ive got pubic hair small boobs ( but not totally flat ) i dont have much under my arms but im getting this white stuff in my underwear.. i heard it was called discharge.... its sometimes milky n sometimes clear.. it dosent smell or itch or anything. i sometimes get bad side ache and nearly every morning when i wake up i sit up and my stomach feels like a rock and then most of the day it will be like it. what does this mean ?

Hey girl! If you've been getting discharge, you'll probably get your period fairly soon. Just don't worry about it, and everything will be fine. Your body will start to develop when it's ready. Best, Kristen

Hey gal, I it's normal for periods to come and go every other month, but I'm not sure if a really light flow is. I would ask the doc about it. They know all about periods and would tell you if anything was wrong.

Could my period be the reason I am having dreams about certain guys? They say periods affect your hormonal levels and could that be a reason I have these dreams where I'm with guys in my dreams or is it something else? I just feel weird about the whole thing because my dreams are related to sex and I am not ready for that yet.

Okay when I grow up I want a baby (like almost every other Motherdreaming girl) I am so scared that its gonna hurt! They are always screaming when women are having Babys so I was wonder do C sections hurt?

Hey babe, I can't speak from experience but I can tell ya don't worry about it just yet! I hear it is painful but def worth it and nothing unbearable! I think the movies make it much worse. You are numbed for c-sections so you can't feel it but the after effects might be worse.

Even after you get your period your parents may still treat you like a kid, my parents did. It isn't as bad now but I think she and my dad finally understand I am growing up.

And I know what you mean about dreaming about making babies with guys you like because it happens to me. There is one cute guy I know and well, it happens.... And one last thing, once you get your period things kind of change, its more responsibility and something else to worry about but you get used to it.
