Should I shave my upper lip?

I have really thick hair over my upper lip. Why do I have it and my friends don’t? And how can I get rid of it?

Don’t freak. Hair growth is mostly hereditary or hormonally related, says dermatologist Dr. Jim Baral. “People with dark hair on Mediterranean backgrounds tend to have more facial hair,” says Dr. Baral.

He recommends using over-the-counter bleaching or waxing systems like Ardell Invisi-Bleach cream or Surgi-Wax hair remover. Whatever you do, don’t shave! Razor stubble is not attractive.

i have visible hair on my upper lip. i didnt think it was very noticable, considering my friends would tell me and no one has stared or pointed or anything. but now, on a daily basis, my little sister says "Tobin's got a mostash!!" she says it when its only us, but now im realy self-conciuos about it. i've asked her to stop and she wont. i dont know if i want to get it waxed or not... do you have to go someplace to get it waxed? and what do you recommended i do. Thank You

Hey girl! It may be nerve racking to ask your mom, but it's important to get her help and approval with it. She probably went through the same thing when she was a girl, so you have nothing to worry about! If it makes it easier, you could try asking an older girl-friend or sister or aunt!

I have hair above my lip more around the sides but it's so unnoticeable that i don't really care about it only when im staring at myself in the mirror.

Hey girl, you can always bleach your 'stache with off the counter products at your local drug or grocery store. Ask your mom what she thinks. Chances are you're the only person who notices though girlie.

i use alexadrea wax strips and my upper lip hair is really thick and dark after i use it, it leaves my upper lip filled with pimples and the next time the hair comes it is worse

just bleach! my little sis just turned 13, and has super thick dark hair, and she just uses bleach. its simpler and less painful than waxing.

MOD! i just started to shave my bikini line but there are razor bumps and i rly wish i didn't do it anymore. should i stop and just do the sides and not the top part or what thanks and sry its so awkward! thx!

Hey girl, lots of women only shave the parts of their bikini lines that will be exposed, like the sides soo you could try that. Maybe you could try getting some shaving cream and sensitive lotion to get rid of the bumps.

I hav the same issue girlie. My mom says that I"m allowed 2 get a laser treatment but I think I'm gonna wait for that. What I do is I bleach it like every week.

I wax my upper lip, and it's so painful, so when there is only a few small hairs, I bleach it until there's more, and then go for waxing again.
