Don't waste another second stressing about sun 'n' sand season! We've got tried and true tips to help you tone up fast and feel fabulous about yourself in just a few weeks. Which way to the beach? This summer's gonna be sizzlin'!
 
Week 4: Increase Everything
 
EATS Start thinking about snacks as mini meals. So you wouldn't eat, say, ice cream for dinner, right? Switch to combos like peanut butter on whole wheat toast and broccoli 'n' tomatoes eaten together (raw, with hummus) that pack a more powerful punch.
EXERCISE Got a big fitness goal? Try periodization. That means breaking you dream (finishing a 10K) into mini steps (seperate goals for endurance, distance, speed) then work on a couple things at a time.

i have about 25 pound to lose until I'm at a healthy weight. I have a goal to look good in a bikini, but can i lose enough weight so i don't run out of time before summers over? I know everything to do and try to follow the tips in GL, all i need to know if its possible and possibly some tips? thanks!!!

Thanks for the great tips. But I'm having a tough time eating healthier. Every time I get home from school I get very hungry and eat tons of snacks. I can't really find anything healthy to eat (that I actually like) in the fridge or pantry. Do you have any tips on how I can stop my snacking and eating healthier when I get home from school?

Im training to do the iron kids triathlon (seinor division) and I want to konw how I can train and how often.




Hey girl,

Wow, I'm impressed--don't know if I would ever be able to do that! I'm not an expert on this, but I do know the basics: start your workouts small, and then build them up. That way, they're always manageable, but you're working more and more as your abilities increase. I would suggest getting together with another person who is also training for the triathlon so you can train together. Also, if anyone you know has done a triathlon before, ask them for some training tips!

I have HUGE thighs and legs. I would really like to tone them down so i am more confortable during bikini season. How do I work out so I can slim then down?!

MOD MOD MOD!!! I have been trying to run frequently, but if I run too hard, my knees start to hurt and then I can't get in a good workout until they feel better. My dad says it's because my knees aren't strong enough for heavy exercise. I just want to know what kind of exercises I could do to strengthen my knees? (Thanks!)

 

Hey girl! First of all, you should make sure you're stretching thoroughly before and after you work out. Also, maybe try doing a walk, jog, sprint, instead of doing an all out run. And try running on softer surfaces like grass. Running on pavement can hurt your joints. Also try elevating your legs, icing them for 20 min on, 20 min off, and taking some Ibuprofen.

Hey girl,

Biking is a good cardio but it depends on how much you do it with the right nutrition for your body. Also, even if you don't like running and walking, you should always try to do a bit of it.

***MOD*** Okay, so I really think I should start doing this stuff....BUT I'm on a track team and I practice for an hour and a half three days a week. Does this mean I shouldnt do the excercise part or just do it anyway? Also, should I do tha magazine workouts after I get home from track? Cuz arent u supposed to do those afer cardio?

i feel so proud of myself. so since its moms day i helped out my stepmom, by going 2 the store with her 2 help her with my lil sis. n we talked alot which was good 4 both of us, we get along the best out of most of my sibs, (i got 3) and it was nice cuz she said i was the most mature of my sibs n im the 2nd youngest, its my older sis, twin bro, then lil sis. n that was nice. then i helped her bring the laundry down n jus offer 2 do stuff. id do the laundry but she likes 2 do that herself. n i gotta make a card 4 my real mom who im going 2 go c 2day with a play. my 2 other sibs rnt coming cuz they dont talk 2 her anymore.

i need 2 exercise. i am doing alota abb workouts now. i need 2 do cardio. like really. mayb ill go 4 a quick jog or paint my nails... no i gotta leave at 1. but i will b wearing flip flops. i dont think i will. idk idk. i need 2 paint my nails black 4 my show n figure out my makeup.

My best friend use to to be soo much fun and didnt care about how she looked. but now she keeps on saying shes fat and has become BOY OBSESSED. all she does is talk about guys and ditches me for them. Plus she wears shirts that totally show cleavage and then she bends down ugg! wat do i do........i want my old friend back???
