Sweat-Proof Summer Makeup

 
I take time to get all dolled up in the summer but then I always get all sweaty! How can I keep the sweat under control and still have a pretty summer glow?

Girl, you are not alone! Sweating can put a major damper (literally) on any diva's day. We've got the tools and techniques you need to know to get rid of the sweat and keep you glistening in the sun.

Use oil-free face wash and moisturizers. Even though you might think that moisturizing is the last thing you need to do when you're sweating up a storm, it's still important because it'll keep your skin looking healthy and fresh. And the water-based products, rather than oil-based, will keep your skin from getting greasy during the day. Pick up a moisturizer with SPF for an added bonus!
 
 
 
 
 
Go easy on the makeup. You've already got the sunkissed look, so you don't need to cake on foundation. Use cover-up to hit any blemishes or pimples but leave the rest of your skin bare. To get a soft summer glow, blend a little highlighter into the apples of your cheeks and brow bones. Your skin will be able to breathe and your pores won’t be covered by loads of powder.
 
Carry something with you to pick up perspiration. You've got lots of options—cleansing wipes, a pressed powder compact or oil blotters. All will do the job and help fight the sweat. If you're acne-prone, steer clear of powder compacts since it can clog up your pores.

Hey girl, I'd imagine a blotter in terms of make-up is the same thing as an oil absorbing sheet: you can use it to take the excess oil off your face during the day.

The best concealer for you depends on what your skin is like. If you have oily or dry skin a different kind of make up might keep your skin healthier. Check out the labels and try out a few on your hand before you buy them!

i love this article but I can't afford all this stuff! I already have proactiv which is working wonders with my skin. So I don't need the face wash. I still need the face moisturizer with spf, the concealer, the highlighting powder, and oil blotting sheets. I added up the costs to the ones I would like to buy and it equals $37.00!!!! Help!!!







Hey girl!  You don't have to buy everything if it's too expensive. Try a couple if that's all you can afford.  If it's still too expensive, try alternative products that are more affordable.  Best, Kristen

Hey ****MODDD****, can you approve of my tips, my mom gave 'em to me and I want to make sure they're legit.
1. Don't plaster on makeup like it's going out of style! All I like to wear is mascara, blush on my cheekbones, eyeshadow, and lipgloss. Use tones that match with your skintone. I have tanner skin so for:
Eyeshadows: light blues, light greens, and bronzes look really cute. But make the blues and greens the only neon color if you use it; use a subtle lipgloss and blush.
Blush: Smile while you apply it. Your cheeks should show your cheekbones and only apply there. I love using light or hot pinks.
Lip Gloss: I'm totally for shiny glosses, they're a total turn-on. Trust me! If you used a blue or green, make it a pale shade. Not, like, neon pink! If all other makeup is light, make it a neon color!

MOD!!!!!! Do you know of any tinted sunscreens? Cause all I can find are self tanners and tinted lotions but none have suncreen in them. I burn REALLY easily and I never get a tan, so I want to get a tinted sunscreen so I don't look like a pale fish. I saw a good one for face, but not for my bod which is what I need it for. thx <3magzy

You will have to get two separate products, a sunscreen and a self tanner.

Hey Girl, Try a natural concealer in a shade thats a teeny tiny bit darker than your skin and use that as a foundation. A natural one works best- Maybelline makes a good one. xo Annemarie

My hair looks gr8 straightened. I wash my hair in the showerr at noght. If I towel dry my hair and let it dry for and hour{it's 3 inches thick} would it straighten so i dont spend so much time in the morning?

How do I apply spray tan? your issue only has how to apply the lotion... please help!!!







Hey girl!  To apply spray tan, spray it on evenly and not too dark.  Wipe off any drips or excess tanner afterwards and keep your skin moisturized.  For a little while afterwards, avoid really tight or white clothing so the bronzer doesn't stain your clothes.  Best, Kristen

I have really sweaty hands and feet. Like ppl have noticed... and when i wear flip flops people are like why are your feet all wet? PLEASE HELP! When i held hands with my boyfriend today, he noticed how sweaty my hands were. it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO embarassing today when him and another guy noticed my wet feet. Hey girl!  So sorry to hear about the rough sitch!  I would suggest trying to put a light coat of deodorant/antiperspirant on your hands and feet.  You can also try to put a little cornstarch or baby powder to help absorb some of the moisture and keep them dry.  Good luck!! Kristen

I'm sorry you're feelin' upset! Is there a reason you feel so empty? It could be caused by stress, and if something bad has happened recently that's probably the root of the problem. If there's nothing that's set you off and you're just really down, try talking to a friend about it, writing in a journal, or anything else that helps you get your feelings out in the open. And I know it's hard to get motivated to exercise when you're feelin' so awful, but it might actually make you feel better.

I was hoping for maybe some actual makeup (eyeliner/mascara) in this, but it helped =]
I am not gonna wear foundation to often in the summer: I get tan (I don't lay down & tan, it just happens!) & my foundation was lighter than the rest of me to begin with (*sigh* its from MAC; a present from my mom, she took me to the MAC counter) so now it's waaaaaaayy tooooooooo pale, even with bronzer.
I'm definently getting the highlighter stuff tho.

I have 3 questions!
First, I know if you blowdry your hair, after away it causes split ends. But if your dryer has a cool button, and you use it, does it still cause damage????? I thought it was just the heat...so if i dry my hair on cool does it still cause split ends?
Second: I want to start wearing powder, and I want to wear phycicians mineral pressed powder. Does that sound good? It says it reduced breakout, so I dont think it causes acne...idk y i want to start wearing powder, but i do....lol
Third: I am getting a long layered bob. You know how most bobs curl up at the end? Is there anyway to do that without a curling iron? I have 2 ideas (this is to do it like, in the morning) Use hair putty to curl and shape the ends (garnier has a style video and it gave me this idea) Or use a round brush of kinda damp hair, then blow dry it. (I know you can create body by doing this so, will it curl??)

Secondly, a mineral powder should be totally fine for your face! If you find any probs with it after using it for a while, check with your dermatologist. Thirdly, spend a free afternoon and experiment with those hair styles! It sounds like you've got a good idea of what it is you want. Different hair types respond to different methods, so experiment a little and see what works best. Good luck! Smile

Mod, when i sweat, i only sweat under my arms, so i have big sweat stains under there! but i use deoderant. Any ideas?





Hey girl!

Sweat is your body's way of cooling itself
down. Before scrambling to try different deos, try this tip: Before
ya hop out of the shower, try and end it with about a minute or
so of cold water. Doing this will lower your surface temp, so when you
step out, you'll sweat less while adjusting to the temperature of the
air. Towel off gently, by patting your pits - don't rub! Rubbing can
stress your skin and cause you to sweat! If this doesn't help, there are
deos out there specially made for people who sweat a lil' more. Talk to
your mom about buying one of those to help you out. Good luck!

hey! first day of summer vaycay!!! I have 3 questions!
First off, I know that blowdrying your hair zaps it and can make your ends frazzled after multiple use. But if your blowdryer has a cool button, does it still make your ends split? Cause I thought it just the heat?????????
Second, Is a powder bad for yor skin?? Cause I was thinking of getting pysicians mineral compressed powder, and I have pretty clear skin. I was just wondering if it would be bad for my skin.......it mineral if that makes it any better...????
