EATS Healthy living is all about sticking with something that lasts--not starving yourself before you hit the beach on vacay next week. Strike a balance that works for you, occasional cupcake and all.
EXERCISE If you find yourself slipping, go back to the start. Take more walks with friends, cram in short workouts and vary your routine as much as possible. Research shows two 15-minute workouts is as effective as one half-hour stint. So don't be scared to break it up.

MOD--
Is speed walking a good method of cardio? I read that it burns almost as many calories as jogging, and has many benefits.

Hey babes, That's def true, some ppl think just because you're not running it means you're not giving it your all.  BUt walking is a great form of cardio, keep up the great work.  XO Lori

REASONS WHY WE MUST STOP!
1.They all will eventually get boring and stranded*
2.Its annoying when you run a club and a million other clubs are asking to be sisters!
3.THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!

copy and paste this around GL to put an end to club creating!(clubs that are popular are fine)

*this ad is NOT making fun of this club

How in the world do you sign up for the healthy you program??? Do you have to go back to the first post because that would take a really long time! Smile

Hey girl, if you're talking about your profile, just go to your account and then edit profile to change it. However, if you're talking about the Healthy You blog then you're just oging to have to browse through them one by one. <3 Jeannie

MOD!!!
By the time school starts again, I need to be able to run a mile in 7 minutes or less. Right now it takes me 12 minutes! Yikes! There's really not a place for me to run around my house. What do you think I should do?

Hey girl, for running, practive really does make perfect. If you don't have a place to find near your house, you're going to have to find a place wear you can because you won't be able to improve effectively with just other workouts. <3 Jeannie

Im scared to death of dry drowning. Help. How can I get over my fear?
Thanks,

Hey babe, I'm not sure what that is but it doesn't sound like something that happens a lot so I don't see a reason to worry about it. Maybe talk to a school counselor to get your feelings about it out.

MOD MOD MOD!
I'm a dancer, and I'm going to a dance camp in like 2 weeks! I've been doing dance all year, and I'm still not flexible, like, at all! I know it takes time, but is there any excercises that can get you more flexible?

Hey Babes, Do some cardio and some basic stretches. Also, try some yoga stretches to get that flex back! xo Annemarie

Hey Mod, I have a problem!
My mother is soooo over protective it is not even funny. She wont let me stay overnight at someone's house for more than two days because "That is too much time for you to be away." I have told her I am unpopular because of her and people come up to me and tell me "Your mom is really strict." AND It's true!
Please help me!
v-ballnerdygirl

Hey Babes, I'm really sorry about all that but I get your moms point of view. Why not have people over for a bit instead, and when she gets to know them, she might let you go over their places more. xo Annemarie

MOD! Thank you! Another question, I'm gonna start doing dance classes in September, so Saturday (yestersay) I went to a "Try Out Class" where they showed us what a normal class there would be like. Well, I found the dances easy but fun, except for at the beginning where we did streaches and I found out how un-flexible I am! How can I make myself more flexible?

Hey girl, flexibility takes a lot of practice gradually. Try doing those stretches you saw at the dance class everyday a little at a time. That's the best way to increase your flexibility.  <3 Jeannie

MOD! Is it better to do cardio everyday, or every other day? Or is it better to do it before/after I workout? Thankyou.

Hey girl, it depends on the person, their ability, and body type. Also you should keep in mind that cardio can be considered as a workout.  <3 Jeannie

MOD- I have this guy friend who is nearly 16, two years older than me and I like to flirt with him a ton. Not sure if I like him, I just totally love to flirt, and my bff knows it. I wanted her to meet him so that we could do stuff with him sometimes to make situations less awkward, but she's met him once and she's the kind of person to take over friendships. She's done it before and I think she's going to try to do it again. She flirted with him too, she invited him over to a party after the movie we all saw together last night (first time they got to really meet each other) and she's texting him and vise-versa. I don't want them to start excluding me and liking each other! Should I just straight up tell her that I want a few different groups of friends and I want to be the one to meld them when I choose? Her friend called her today and invited her over and said something about me coming over too (I could hear him talking, but my friend didn't know) and my friend said, "I think it'd be better if it were just me" so I know she wants space with her friends, even if she doesn't blatantly tell me so.

Hey girl, like what you said, just confront your friend and tell her what you're feeling. You have the solution down. The only important thing you should remember is that you don't want to offend her when you tell her this. However, be confident, and if she truly is your friend, she'll understand.  <3 Jeannie

MOD*MOD*MOD hey im tryin out 4 basketball this yr, but i am SOOOO outta shape (i run a 14 min. mile and cant even do 1 push up!!!) so i need to start training now. other than sprints and obviously playin b-ball, wat exercises shld i do?

Hey girl, if you want to be fit for basketball, do some workouts that well, workout the body parts that are used the most in basketball. For example, train those biceps with some weight lifting and do some jumping exercises to increase your ability to jump.  <3 Jeannie

MOD! I've seen all of the work out tips and everything, but I just don't think that I can do it! I really want to work out, but it seems really hard, and I really CAN'T run long distance AT ALL! How should I start? And also, what should I eat along with a work out?

Hey girl, if you ever want to be successful in working out and getting a fit body, you have to get rid of the thought that you don't think you can do it. Even if it seems hard, you have to have the confidence. If you don't have it, you're not going to get very far in your work outs. If it seems too hard, just do it step by step, little by little. It's not a rule that you have to do everything exactly the same way as everyone else is doing. <3 Jeannie

MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!!!!!!
I THINK i might b allergic 2 sunscreen!!!! i just put some on b4 going 4 my jog n the tip of my eyelids, bottom and top started hurting a bit and now the whole eyelid on the top n about 2 cm under my eye r burning!! n idk if it was jus me but i think my eyes started 2 get a bit red. i used the same sunscreen yesterday in the pool and it burned a bit but its only by my eyes n not the rest of my face. do u think i could b allergic 2 it? im puttin a cold wash clothe on my face right now 2 keep off the burn but it still hurts a bit. should i not use the sunscreen anymore n y is it only the eye area?

The skin around your eyes is super sensitive--it's not unusual that it might get a little irritated from the sunscreen. next time, try a different brand or use one specifically for "sensitive skin."

I need help! I live in Arizona so it's too hot to go outside and run (i get over heated really easily) so in the morning about three times a week I wake up with my Dad around 5 and run about two miles. I know this is great exercise but I want to do other stuff inside. I feel great after working out and I want to do different things and mix it up. Any ideas? Oh and does hoola hooping burn calories?

Hey Babes, Hoola Hooping is a good idea for an off day but not as the main event. Why not scale down all that awesome cardio to two times a week and spend the other day (or days) playing baseball, frisbee, hoola hooping or even swimming with your BFFs. All are great activities. xo Annemarie

Hey Girls!!
You all are invited to join Club Girl Talk! It is a place to ask questions about pretty much anything. If you want to be a modder (you answer questions on your topic), please write on BellaandEdward s profile. Just remember, not everyone can make the cut, so if you are not a modder, you can ask the questions. Right now Club Girl Talk s profile is being checked, so if you have any questions about this club, contact BellaandEdward s profile ASAP.
Thanks and we hope you join,
President and Co President of Club Girl Talk (Nicole and Crystal)

I like a guy who is always flirting with me. I think he's intimidated to asked me out though. I'm a tough tom boy and I don't think the male population knows I have the capacity to care and love. How do I let him know its okay?

Hey girl, just be sweet and nice to the guy. Spend some time together outside of school like at the movies or the mall. Let him see your softer side - he'll feel more at ease and will be glad to see that you're not just the tomboy everyone knows but that you're also, well, a girl. -Alexa

Does singing burn calories? Whenever I get back from choir my stomach aches a bit and you can really feel your voice working. Just curious.

Hey Girl, It burns a few but not enough. Those aches you feel are your diaphram and other muscles you use to belt out that voice. Unfortunately, it does nothing for legs, back, arms, and other parts of your body. xo Annemarie
