Check these out, too...
All the little kids I babysit love sparkly things and always wanted to try on my necklaces. It’s a bad thing because they are pretty strong and want it as soon as they see it. I got together a bunch of sparkly beads (big since we don't want them to choke!) and some string. I told them to make necklaces just like mine.
It was a sell out! I was making jewelry for weeks. It’s a very good thing to do when you want them to settle down since it makes their minds work and so do their hands.
Our tip? Let them play fancy dress up with their new necklaces, or teach your mini businesswomen how to sell their jewels.

you could also make puppets for more maybe ages 4-5 maybe 6 years old, you could find some of your old coloring books or get 1 at the store for a good price with a big, clear picture to make it easier to color in, you could have the kid(s) u watch color and cut (with like plastic safty scissors with no way to cut themselves) (trust me, they make them i have a pair) and then help them glue it onto a paper lunch bag. for older kids you could make felt ones. it takes a little more time and a little more talent, but it will keep 'em busy and it will only cost about $3.00 tops at the store.
