Planning on throwing a killer pool party this summer? You’re gonna need some sweet tunes pumping out of that iPod! We scoured our iTunes and are giving you our picks for the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon by the pool!

1 “Daylight” by Matt and Kim The drums on this song are infectious, and it’ll have you tappin’ your flip-flops ‘til the end of “daylight”!

2 “Simple Life” by My Favorite Highway Na na na na’s never sounded so perfectly summer-y! A classic pop-rock jam to listen to poolside.

3 “Stuttering” by The Friday Night Boys Play it cool with your summer crush by the pool, and leave the “stuttering” up to the Friday Night Boys.

4 “That’s Not My Name” by The Ting Tings This sassy number has been all over the radio waves lately, and it’s got major ‘tude!

5 “Take Control” by Amerie A fun, funky song that will pump some energy into your party!

6 “4ever” by The Veronicas Rock your cute new suit while these sisters take care of the rock music.

7 “So Much Love” by The Rocket Summer You’ve got “so much love” for the pool, and you will for this upbeat, piano-driven song, too!

8 “Cross Your Fingers” by The Summer Set This band’s poppy brand of rock is so crafted for summah-time, the season is even in their name!

9 “Reaction” by Ace Enders and a Million Different People An undeniably catchy tune that happens to go perfectly with sun and swim.

10 “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” by Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend’s songs give off a chilled-out summer vibe, and this song is a great, mellow way to end the party after the sun has gone down.

It's sort of disappointing that all the songs are the same genre? Pretty much, they're all rock

Daylight is pretty much one of my favorite songs right now. i love it . and i love Vampire Weekend. and i looove the Ting Tings. i like the songs Keep Your Head and Fruit Machine by them also. i also like that song by The Rocket Summerrrr

i really do dislike My Favorite Highway, The Friday Night Boys, and The Summer Set, though. I'm not really into that kind of stuff.

You know what are good songs for the summer time? My opinion is: Fire burin by Sean Kingston is a great song. I can listen to it all the time. Second opinion: Waking up in vegas. That is also a great song. Last opinion: Blame it is my favorite song!

I downloaded "Thats not my name" and "Shut up and let me go" by the ting tings. ITS SOOOO CATCHY!!! I also like "ONe of the boys" by Katy Perry, and "Take me on the floor" by the veronicas. One of my friends wasn't treating me right. She would always get mad at me for weird reasons.But then the next day she would be so nice. She would also get mad if you didn't agree with her. She always said it was because of her period but i am pretty sure it wasn't every day. Should I be friends with her again?

MOD! Am I allowed to copy music on the internet so I can play it on my guitar? On the song I'm looking at printing, it says it's impossible to manually validate whether or not the artist wants the song published. Can I use it?

Technically you are not allowed to copy music for free. It is called pirating and it is illegal. How about buying the song off iTunes for a dollar instead?

I'm so happy about this playlist because I'm adding 4 of these songs to my iPod, and wheres the fun in a playlist where you already know all of the songs? Hey girl, I'm not really understanding what you're asking. Do you feel pressured to date your BGF? If that's the prob, then listen up, chicky: never let anyone tell you how you should feel. If you aren't attracted to him, then there's nothing you can do about it - you can't force feelings that just aren't there. It sounds like you're good friends with the dude, so that's more of a reason not to risk ruining it by dating. Tell him (and anyone who is pressuring you to get with him) that you're sorry but you see him as a really good friend, and you don't want to spoil that. ~Alexa
