Redo Your Room: Let There Be Light!

Summer’s a great time to redo your room. Before you start from zero, remember that a couple small changes can make you, um, see things in a new light.

Then switch around some furniture, pop up a couple cute new snaps in some frames and, viola! A new room that cost you nearly nothin’!

I really want to redo my room. I've had the same furniture since I was 3, and my parents won't let me get new furniture! I'm in middle school and my room looks like it is for a second grader! They won't let me paint my furniture, either. Is there any way for me to make my room look like a cool, fun teen room?

Try redecorating your walls with the latest pics of you and your friends! You could also make collages to hang on your walls! This will make it feel more up to date.

i have been really wanting 2 redo my room 4 like years after i moved into my new house ( 3 years ago in July) but its just so blah and it kinda looks like a 3rd graders room. it has like a white stripe thing made of wood like 3/4 of the way up the wall and the bottom is a cute light purple and so i wanted the top to be like dark purple to make it sickly insanely awersome, right? and then my mom is all ,ok i'll go get the paint tonight and your dad can paint it this weekend. so she comes home and doesnt let me see the paint until after my dad is done painting and then i go into my room and its PINK!!! like hideous, 3rd grader pink!!! i wanted the purple to make it loke more teenagery but now it mwent frum 3rd grader just to like 4th grader( even tho my 4th grade sisters room looks more mature than mine but watevs)HELP!! my roo mis hideous and it needs serious redecorating but i cant even move my bed from where it is cuz im not supposed 2 put it in front of a window but the only pretty spot to put it is where these 2 big windows are!! my room is hideous and i've had the same furniture no joke since i wuz 3 (a whole decade!!!)and my mom keeps saying that i dont need new furniture but mine has like cinderella stickers and like flowers and crayon marks all over it!! uuugggghhh and then shge decides to go buy my sister and brother new furniture cuz they need it even tho they SERIOUSLY get new furniture ever 2 years or less. but my room is ssoooo ugly and it needs serious help

I get great grades, i know right from wrong, and hardly ever go behiind my parent's backs. I can't date till im 16 (im 13 now). I really want to date. But i can't go that far behind my parent's back. I'm so determined to get my 1st kiss this summer. I'm soo ready for that, but i feel so confused. Is having a boyfriend, just not going on dates, dating? And if I got my first kiss, do you think that would be like too far? PLease help. I want this to be the best summer ever!

Hey babe! If you really want to start dating, try sitting down with your parents and talking to them. I can't guarantee that they'll change their minds, but you can at least have them start thinking if you talk to them maturely. Also, it's a TON of pressure to put on yourself to have your first kiss this summer. Take that pressure off of yourself and just use the summer to have tons of fun relaxing and hanging out with your friends. You're first kiss will come eventually - I promise - but you're not gonna want to ruin your summer fun by putting such high pressure on yourself.

Hey babes, I would look at some of the art work from tinkerbell stories and bring it with you when you're shopping. One super cute idea is to have a hanging lantern above your bed, just like the one she was in during peter pan. Also focus on wispy light fabrics for curtains. XoLori
