I want to redo my room but my parents wont let me paint my white walls or get new furniture. The queen bed in my room takes up a lot of space.They say I can paint over my dark-wood brown furniture. I'm really confused.Thanks in advance!




Hey girl,

Since you can't paint the walls but can paint the furniture, use the white walls as a solid background and paint the furniture in bright, funky colors. Paint your bedframe one color, your desk another, and your dresser a different one! You can even use stencils to paint on flowers or hearts. It'll make your room so bright and colorful! x0x0

I really want to redo my room. I've had the same furniture since I was 3, and my parents won't let me get new furniture! I'm in middle school and my room looks like it is for a second grader! They won't let me paint my furniture, either. Is there any way for me to make my room look like a cool, fun teen room?




Try redecorating your walls with the latest pics of you and your friends! You could also make collages to hang on your walls! This will make it feel more up to date.

i have been really wanting 2 redo my room 4 like years after i moved into my new house ( 3 years ago in July) but its just so blah and it kinda looks like a 3rd graders room. it has like a white stripe thing made of wood like 3/4 of the way up the wall and the bottom is a cute light purple and so i wanted the top to be like dark purple to make it sickly insanely awersome, right? and then my mom is all ,ok i'll go get the paint tonight and your dad can paint it this weekend. so she comes home and doesnt let me see the paint until after my dad is done painting and then i go into my room and its PINK!!! like hideous, 3rd grader pink!!! i wanted the purple to make it loke more teenagery but now it mwent frum 3rd grader just to like 4th grader( even tho my 4th grade sisters room looks more mature than mine but watevs)HELP!! my roo mis hideous and it needs serious redecorating but i cant even move my bed from where it is cuz im not supposed 2 put it in front of a window but the only pretty spot to put it is where these 2 big windows are!! my room is hideous and i've had the same furniture no joke since i wuz 3 (a whole decade!!!)and my mom keeps saying that i dont need new furniture but mine has like cinderella stickers and like flowers and crayon marks all over it!! uuugggghhh and then shge decides to go buy my sister and brother new furniture cuz they need it even tho they SERIOUSLY get new furniture ever 2 years or less. but my room is ssoooo ugly and it needs serious help

I get great grades, i know right from wrong, and hardly ever go behiind my parent's backs. I can't date till im 16 (im 13 now). I really want to date. But i can't go that far behind my parent's back. I'm so determined to get my 1st kiss this summer. I'm soo ready for that, but i feel so confused. Is having a boyfriend, just not going on dates, dating? Hey babe! If you really want to start dating, try sitting down with your parents and talking to them. I can't guarantee that they'll change their minds, but you can at least have them start thinking if you talk to them maturely. Also, it's a TON of pressure to put on yourself to have your first kiss this summer. Take that pressure off of yourself and just use the summer to have tons of fun relaxing and hanging out with your friends. You're first kiss will come eventually - I promise - but you're not gonna want to ruin your summer fun by putting such high pressure on yourself.

Hey babes, I would look at some of the art work from tinkerbell stories and bring it with you when you're shopping.  One super cute idea is to have a hanging lantern above your bed, just like the one she was in during peter pan.  Also focus on wispy light fabrics for curtains.  XoLori

For the summer I want to get my haircut for when I go on vacation. Hey babe,

It's always scary cutting off your hair! You never know how it's going to look. A few ways you can try to get an idea of what it might look like are to look at pictures of celebs and girls in magazines who have hair that looks like yours (straight, curly, or whatever) and have faces with similar shapes. Check out what looks good on them and try to imagine how it might look on you. Another thing you can do is just get a little bit cut off when you go, see how that looks, and if you want to go shorter, keep going! Your hairdresser can always cut off more, but you have to be careful because s/he can't cut of less! Good luck!

ugh! everything i tell my sisters they tell my parents! even if i dont tell them something they find out! either by reading my journal or searching my room. it drives me crazy! recently they did something and its crossed the line. i also have 2 guy cousins about my age (14 yrs old) and everything my sisters "learn" or find out about me they tell my cousins! then my cousins use it against me and are rude to me. i just dont know wut 2 do anymore!!!! HELP!!

Hey babe,

Tell your sisters that you are really hurt and angry about this behavior. Try to establish some ground rules between yourselves about what you can tell your parents and what you can't. Make sure they understand that if they continue to act like this you're not going to trust them with your secrets anymore and point out that you respect them enough not to treat them this way. Having said that... they're sisters, and sometimes that's just how sisters are, so there are no guarantees that they'll listen to you. If they don't, try getting your parents to intervene.

And look for an even sneakier spot for your journal! ;)

I've got a question. Okay so this morning when I woke up something really weird happened. This has happened before, but "down there" started to itch badly. it itched were u have your period (i forgot the name LOL) but is that normal? It's probably nothing to worry about. Try cleaning very carefully with a wet cotton cloth and then a dry one. If this keeps happening, you might want to talk to a doctor or gynecologist about it.. If you ask your doctor to speak to a woman, he might know of one he can recommend. You may want to switch doctors anyway - it's important to feel totally comfortable discussing your body with your physician!! s/he can't help you if you can't him/her what's wrong!

If you want to swim you'll have to use a tampon. Pads just get full of water. Tell your mom why you need a tampon for swimming and ask her to help you learn how to use one. If you're nervous or embarrassed about asking you can try writing her a letter. Good luck!

Painting your room can also make it COMPLETELY different. A can of paint costs $30, so it's not even more expensive than any of the idea's here! Paint your room, re-arrange your furniture... Add some paper lanterns maybe (if you like that look), and TA-DA! A new room!

What about a babysitting job?  It great money and super simple!  Just ask neighbors or family friends with kids if they want some help on weekends and nights!

These are cute!!! ***MOD*** I have like wavy-ish hair that gets curly but with out wringlets in humid weather. I want to curl it, but NOTHING WORKS!!! I've tried curlers, curling it with a big barrel, curling it with a small barrell, scrunching, wetting it then scruching it and putting it in a bun. IT DOESN'T WORK. How can I get cute curls with out all the frustration and re-curling? Thanks.

 

It is very hard for people with straight or wavy hair to get ringlet curls to last.  A cool trick you could try is curling it with a straightening iron!  Wrap the hair around the iron and see what comes out!  it may not be the super curly ringlets you wanted but your sure to get some awesome curl!

These are soooo cute! I <3 the paper lanturns, I've always wanted some of those. Except, my room is bright blue (like the color of the strip surrounding the comments) with dark brown shelves and stuff. But cute! <3 the table lamp too!

The room make-over ideas are endless but it all depends on how creative your willing to get!  You can find your local Ikea store to get ideas from lamps and funiture but why not try some home-made improvements?

What about getting a fun colored sheet to put in the middle and divide the room?  That way you can have your personal closed off space but are still super accessible to your brother's side as well!

MOD!!! I have a question. Okay so I want to start my own business this summer to help animals.But I'm not sure if I need a license or permit to do that .I live in North Carolina if it helps any.But, I don't know what to do.My parents said to look it up.I went to my state's home page and couldn't find any thing that could help me.THANKS for any help you can give me!

 

Hmm.. how about going on Google and keyword your state and animal care or helping animals with it.  That should give you a good list of references of places in your state with your interests!  If your having a hard time just ask Mom and Dad to help with the search!  I'm sure they would love to get involved!

Peeps, what should i do for a purple painted room? I know pictures, but some colors just wont work in my all purple with small black splashes. My bed spread is black with purple fuzzies ALL over it, medium purple wall, and i have a pink book shelf and soon a pink desk the same color as my bookshelf.

***MOD**** I need good dresses to wear to cotillion class next month, and I was thinking of going to vintage stores, the problem is that there are rules the dresses have to follow... (no shoulder blades showing, no spaghetti straps, and the dress has to be below the knees...) do you think that vintage stores' clothes would be too "hip" to follow these rules, or should I not even bother trying there? thanks...

 

I think it would definitly be a good idea to check it out and see what they have.  If they don't have anything that fits the cotillion's strict requirements try a Macy's, JCPenneys, or Forever21.  All stores with adorable dresses for half the price!  Good luck on the dress hunt!

You say you like braids so what about a braid on the side with some front pieces of hair with the rest left down curly?  If it is too curly to be left down at all what about putting it in a cute stylish bun or pony?  Good luck curly cutie
