Happy Fourth of July!

Hey babes, Happy Independence Day! It's hard to believe that June is long gone and it's already the Fourth of July. Crazy stuff, huh?!

This holiday is a summer staple. Ya can't daydream about vacay without thinking about all the fun, fireworks and flags.

Here at GL we have all sorts of fab summer memories from the Fourth! We're psyched for beach getaways, cool vacays, seeing friends 'n' fam, parades, baseball games and munching on some delish BBQ!

Of course, you can't say Fourth of July without mentioning fireworks! Some of our fave ways to enjoy them are snuggled up on an enormous blanket at the park, sitting in the stands at the baseball stadium, or lying on the sand at the beach. Psst! Watching the fireworks is also the perf opportunity to smooch your crush, or at least hold his hand.

I played softball during the fireworks..it was sooo much fun!!!me n my friends went back 2 our hotel where we were stayin 4 our tournament n tee-peed 1 of the girls' dads car..n 1 of our coaches 2..lol..it was sosososososososoooo much fun..and we had a bbq

I went to my town's annual parade, then to the most boring partay in the world for about an hour before we left (but not before me, my dad and my brother plotted ways to get kicked out first ) then we went to my cousins for a BBQ then watched the fireworks from her house, which the town almost couldn't afford this year but we did!

Then on the real fourth (that was all on the 3rd) we went to my grandpas for a cookout and we went Bonzai-ing (which is a gigantic tube called the Bonzai!) and stuff. So fun. I <3 my family. They're so much fun.

I love America too, but it's important to remember that it is a dangerous thing to light fireworks. 3 people died in Ocracoke, NC, near where I am. Countless others died across America. We really need to honor those people, who didn't deserve to die.

My plans for the 4th are, on Friday, a BBQ with my family, and then, on Saturday, me and my friends are hanging out watching some baseball and then a fireworks show!

last year i went boating with friends and then we anchored and saw fireworks. this year it was only my dad and me because my mom was away for work so later for dinner we had hot dogs and then had some smorz (on the grill) but my marshmellows kept getting burned. ha ha

My favorite memory with the fourth of july is all the amazing and unique fireworks that my neighbors would have before they moved...i miss them.

The fourth is my parents anniversary so we always just chill at home. I marched in the parade with the marching band and then we had steak and home made ice cream! Going to watch the fireworks. I love to sit on a blanket (we watch ours in the park) with my sister, and my rents sit on lawn chairs. Super fun!!!

Hey girl, you should wear a cute sundress or a flowy top with shorts - those are breezy outfits that can be appropriate for church but also fun for a BBQ! As for what to bring... I think what you suggested is good, but you may also wanna bring some deodorant or a fragrant spray to refresh yourself if you're gettin' a little funky. Well, I just moved to Mississippi in December and I'm going to a private school, which means there aren't as many kids there as I'm used to. Well, I have friends and stuff but most of them are just really annoying snobs. So I have a few friends and they're all the "popular kids" (although in a school this small there really is no popular). But since it's summer I've been thinking that most of them really aren't friends. And all the popular guys think I'm wierd and make fun of me and stuff. Last year I really didn't wear makeup or anything and I've matured, but I'm worried that they're gonna think it's just the same me and treat me the same. Next year I'm wearing makeup and I'm gonna be different and stuff. How can I convince them I AM different and DON'T like them when they're jerks? And how am I supposed to change my rep? It's not too good because some people made stuff up about me. Help!

Hey girl, I'm sorry to hear that you've been having a hard time with the kids at school. Lemme tell you a secret, though: if you wanna change what people see, you gotta change your attitude. There are ways to improve yourself while still being true to yourself. Be friendly, smile, make friends. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself or realize when you deserve better. Also, resist the urge to gossip or talk about other people because that can really end up biting you in the butt. Show people the true you, and if they don't like it, then they aren't worth it, but don't let them make you feel bad about being yourself! ~Alexa

Hey girl, it sounds like you have a tough sitch with your dad. Sit down with him and give it to him straight - let him know that, for girls, this kind of thing is really important, and you feel strongly about being able to shave or straighten your hair. He may not understand it completely, but if he sees how much this means to you, maybe he'll lighten up about it. As for your bummer summer... you should use this as the ultimate me-time! Grab a stack of books you've been waiting to read, give yourself a mani/pedi, work on your tan, get some extra sleep. two yrs ago, we did fireworks at out house with our cuzins. We also had out nextdoor nebors come (aka my BGF and crush) one went hay wire and when the rest of the kids ran for cover me and my BGF jumped backed hugging! we may have been scared to death, but it was so sweet! and we shared a laugh when my uncle got hit with one! hahahahaha

My town on ever forth of July shoots fireworks over the lake and me, my ma, my lil sis, and my dog watch the fire works at my chuch and the church has a nice BBQ. one 4th of july i was at a different house and my fam were shooting off fire works and a tralanchula (sry for spelling) climbed on my ma's foot it was hilarious. then my pop hit that thing with a gof club into the field.

MODMODMODMODMOD Help me please. I got a call from 1 of my friends about a week ago saying that my BFF was going out with my ex-BF (and my crush of 3 YEARS!). My BFF always swore that he was like her brother, and that going out with him would be so weird, but now she stabs me in the back like this! And get this: she hasn't talked to me since the last day of school a month ago. She didn't even bother to tell me anything. What should I do? Call her and confront her (not mean, of course) or not do anything, and when school starts, look for a new BFF? HELP ME!

Hey girl, that sounds like a really rough sitch! I'm sorry. I think calling her is a good idea, as long as you aren't rude or confrontational about it. Just ask what's up with that, and tell her how you feel a little shocked and hurt by it. She may not have realized she hurt you, or maybe she did and that's why she hasn't been speaking to you. Hey girl, goody bags are such a fun idea. Go to a drug store or, better yet, a dollar store and take a peek around for lots of things you could buy for a low price. For the actual bag, you could use small make-up bags or mini-purses that your guests can use again and again. As for the filler, try scrunchies, little notebooks and fun pens, hair clips, iron-on patches, costume jewelry, gum, keychains, mini picture frames, makeup... basically anything will be fun and cool for gift bags! Use your imagination and be creative. Have a great party! ~Alexa

Today me, my family, and my cousins are having a barbeque in our backyard and were gonna swim (well not me i have a sprained ankle
then at night we are going to go see the fireworks at the park next to our house because its on a mountain so we can see the fireworks from all the other cities

I'm getting my hair cut and I don't know what to do with it. It is long, brown, and wavy. I wanted to get it shorter and with layers. My mom said that too short would make me look younger, and that layers would change my hair forever so that it would never grow back the same. ANy ideas what I could do with it?

Hey girl, I donno what you look like so it's hard to give advice on this. The best thing you can do is go to your salon and talk to your hairdresser about what would look best for you, 'cause hair cuts are not only determined by your hair type but also your face shape and shoulder width. Your hairdresser will def know what'll look great on you, and anyway it's always good to have a professional opinion! ~Alexa
