This year, don’t just brown paper bag it every day. Put an eco-friendly spin on your lunch routine! A few plastic wrappers tossed a day—no big deal, right? But imagine how much we could save if we all didn’t use and throw away all that plastic for 180 days this school year.

Reusable containers are the key to eliminating your trash. Go back to basics and use a lunchbox instead of a paper or plastic bag.

Our three presh picks:

Beach Insulated Lunch Sack, $20, erve.com

Reusing plastic bottles isn’t always safe, so snap up a lead-free steel one that’ll stay with ya all year. This carry-and-go water bottle’s great to tote around. Durable, recyclable, and toxin-free—what more could you ask for?

Other ways to make your lunch earth-friendly:

Do the fine-dining thing. Take cloth napkins and real silverware to the caf. Way better than using loads of paper and plastic ones.

Eat local foods. Hit up the farmer’s market or local section of your grocery store to get fruits and veggies that were grown nearby. You’ll support your neighbors and it takes less gas to transport food down the road (as opposed to ‘round the world).

Ditch the packaged snacks. Instead of buying, say, pudding cups, make your own at home and put it in Tupperware. Swap gummies for actual fruit and chop carrots into sticks (instead of buying baby ones).

We have to buy our lunch at my school because the price is included in the tuition. But it's pretty good. They've got a salad bar and hot entrees and soup and sandwiches. They have milk, orange juice, apple juice, and bottled water and this year they're going to have something called Spa Water. It's not the best food in the world, but it tastes OK, it's healthy, and you can get a vegetarian meal.

MODMODMODMOD!! I snack when I am bored-- as in all the time!!! I've been trying not to, but even when I'm thinking about how I snack to much, I still do it!!! I'm not fat, I'm one of the smallest people in class, but over the summer (while I'm not at school all day) I've gained 5 pounds!! I'm still skinny, but if this continues I won't be!! I'm really out of shape, so I can't really start a sport right out, so I don't know what to do!!! HELP!!!

It's okay, don't freak out!

Your weight gain might be normal at your age. As long as ou are still slim then don't worry about it. Try to stay as active as you can and only munch on fruits, veggies, and healthy snacks!

I go to high school and most people bring brown bags or get lunch there. I did too when i was a freshman and sophomore. Now that i am a junior, i have decided to bring a reusable tote.(mine is from Built NY. they have really cool colors and patterns but their stuff is a little pricey!)my sister is soo happy that i am being more eco-friendly! I also have an reusable water bottle (like a klean kanteen)

Hey girly, tell your mom you want to start shaving your legs. Give her a list of reasons of how this will benefit you. Also show her that you are mature and responsible enough to shave your legs, for example do extra chores around the house. This way she'll see that shaving is something important to you and that you can handle a responsibility such as this. Hope this helps!

Hey chica, I think as soon as you are mature and responsibile enough to handle a razor or nair. I would suggest anywhere from the ages of 12 and 13 on up!

actually, you can bring home plastic silverware. just wash them like you wash other dishes (only, in the sink cuz theres a possibility it culd melt in the dishwasher) . and ii really like the first lunch bag

Okay, so I really like this guy and he has all the qualities I'm looking for. Problem is, he was held back in kindergarden, so he's a year older and likes to hang out with kids a little older, including girls. He has lots of older girls that are sort of like sisters to him, but I think he might like one of them.
