Put an eco spin on your lunch routine

This year, don’t just brown paper bag it every day. Put an eco-friendly spin on your lunch routine! A few plastic wrappers tossed a day—no big deal, right? But imagine how much we could save if we all didn’t use and throw away all that plastic for 180 days this school year.

Reusable containers are the key to eliminating your trash. Go back to basics and use a lunchbox instead of a paper or plastic bag.

Reusing plastic bottles isn’t always safe, so snap up a lead-free steel one that’ll stay with ya all year. This carry-and-go water bottle’s great to tote around. Durable, recyclable, and toxin-free—what more could you ask for?

Other ways to make your lunch earth-friendly:

Do the fine-dining thing. Take cloth napkins and real silverware to the caf. Way better than using loads of paper and plastic ones.

Eat local foods. Hit up the farmer’s market or local section of your grocery store to get fruits and veggies that were grown nearby. You’ll support your neighbors and it takes less gas to transport food down the road (as opposed to ‘round the world).

Ditch the packaged snacks. Instead of buying, say, pudding cups, make your own at home and put it in Tupperware. Swap gummies for actual fruit and chop carrots into sticks (instead of buying baby ones).

I go to high school and most people bring brown bags or get lunch there. I did too when i was a freshman and sophomore. Now that i am a junior, i have decided to bring a reusable tote.(mine is from Built NY. they have really cool colors and patterns but their stuff is a little pricey!)my sister is soo happy that i am being more eco-friendly! I also have an reusable water bottle (like a klean kanteen)

thank you SOOOO much!!! you guys rock over there!!! yesterday i had a package next to my door and i opened it to find that i won the 113 things sleepover kit with the perfume and cds and dvd and lipgloss and all of the other stuff!!! thank you soo much because i was so stressed packing yesterday (to go to aruba today) and i was so happy to open it!!! i love you GL!!!

Ever heard of the market Trader Joe's? Almost ALL of thier food is either local, organic, vegan, or all of the above!!! thier stuff is amazing we go there ALL the time!
