Switch it Up!

As convenient as they are for our comfort and cleanliness, tampons can be dangerous if worn for very long periods of times. If you use tampons for most of the day, switch to pads for the evening. But if you're sticking with your 24-hour a day tampon routine, make sure you choose an absorbency that coincides with your flow and change them every 4 hours!

Its like you are telling my story for me! Don't worry girl, because the exact same thing happened to me! I had my period for 2 years, never figuring out how to use a tampon. My trick (and as gross as this may sound) is to just relax, breathe. Don't get yourself worked up, because then for sure it won't go in! Also, read the directions on the package. The first time you put one in you might want to try sitting on the floor with (don't be disgusted!) but a mirror. That way you know where everything is! Also, try a lightdays tamppon first!

MOD I have a twin sister she has everything better than me; Her grades are higher than mine. Her hair is prettier than mine, she has the school all over her basically, she has had over 6 bf's n the last 2 months. She rubs it in to me and all that I can't stand it! She has to have everything better than me. Even her name! She's changed it twice from Kaitlyn-Emma to Ellie (Elizabeth) to Nikki. I can't stand it. i've had my period before but i have never used a tampon...i keep trying but i cant seem to get it in! and also it hurts! what should i do! and i tried telling my mom but i dnt think she listened very well is there sumthing wrong ? reply asap!

4. have had an embarassing moment? yes, when i firt got it i was at my besties house, and it was us and a bunch of her little sisters friends and her oldr sis's friends and neithre of us had a pad and i was wearing white shorts and i had to call my sis to bring me some pads!sooo embarrassing

MOD*** I have a question---- Ok yesterday I thought i put a tampon in at about 10 when i woke up--then i went to take it out at 6--to find there was blood everywhere and i couldnt find the tampon! I havent had any signs of tss yet--is it possible that I just forgot? or can it be stuck really far up? Ive checked everywhere and i cant find it! Not even the string!

Hey girlie! You should be changing your tampon a little more than that. Keep trying to find it and dont freak out. If you can't find it soon, tell your 'rents or a doctor.

i just got my period this morning and im at my grandmas (12 hours away from my home and my mom!) i have supplies and all but today we are going swimming...eeeek! i have never used a tampon beofore...i keep trying but i cant seem to get it in! and also it hurts! what should i do! btw i am NOT NOT NOT telling my grandma i need help or that i cant go swimming! please help ASAP! thanks!

Hey girly, be sure to take your time and slow down when inserting it. Read the directions on package it came in. If you still can't get it in, it may not be the right size for you and you may have to sit out on swimming. Sorry . Check out our period page for all you need to know about periods!

Hey girl! It's different to use multiple tampons during the day than to use one all day. Changing them is fine, but leaving one in for too long risks getting TSS! best, Kristen
