Help! I have stretch marks!

I am 14 years old and already have dozens of stretch marks all on my hips! I am so embarrassed to been seen in a bathing suit, even in front of my friends. Is there a cure for stretch marks?

-Freaking Out

Welcome to the wonderful world of womanhood—where stretch marks come with amazing curves! Don’t you just love it? Your chest is growing and your hips are getting wider—your body is changing! So how do you get rid of those pesky little reminders of puberty?

The first step to reducing stretch marks is to prevent them in the first place. Hmm…you’re wondering: “Where can I buy something that will do that?” Well dear, look no further than your nearest drug store or Wal-Mart. No, you don’t need the expensive creams and lotions you see in the adss—cocoa butter works the same wonders for a fraction of the cost! Don’t believe me? Ask my mom, she’s had two kids (stretch marks galore!) and she swears by cocoa butter!

Next step? Take your vitamins. Yup, that’s right. Another fab health advice passed down from my Mama. Vitamins help make your skin stronger, thus reducing the chances of developing stretch marks. Make sure to drink a lot of water as well since this will keep your skin healthy and hydrated!

Still upset about your stretch marks? Don’t be—every girl gets ‘em and every woman has ‘em. I have some on my rear end (my li’l sis calls me “Zebra Butt!”), so I know exactly how you feel, but I still rock bikinis. Confidence is key. Besides, no one probably notices your stretch marks but you. If you smile and just be the pretty, fun girl you are, no one will ever know.

Lots of love,
L’Oreal

im getting stretch marks around my breasts and i wondering if shea(that is the correct speilling right?) butter would help just as well as cocoa butter since we already have shea butter?

Yeah it should help. There are also some new products specifically for stretch marks so you might want to try them if it doesnt work. xoxo kerra

I'm only 11 and I have stretch marks on my butt. Is that normal?

Hey girl, that's totes normal. Stretch marks occur during puberty as you go through growth spurts. Lots of girls get 'em.

I have these bumps on my upper arms and I know other girls have them too, but I don't like them. I've had them for a couple years and was wondering if there was any sure way to get rid of them. They are kind of like pimples, I guess and some days they are more prominent than others.
Thanks!!

Hey babe, it's prob just a shaving reaction or an allergy to deodorant. Check this page out: http://www.girlslife.com/post/2007/04/15/ready-set-shave-with-satin-care.aspx

1. Say your name 10 times.
2. Say your mom's name 5 times.
3. Say your crush's name 3 times.
4. Paste this to 4 other quizzes. If you do this, your crush will kiss you on the nearest Friday, but if you read this and do not paste this, then you will have very bad luck! SEND THIS TO 5 QUIZZES IN 143 MINUTES. WHEN YOU'RE DONE PRESS F6 AND YOUR CRUSH'S NAME WILL APPEAR IN BIG LETTERS ON THE SCREEN. THIS IS SO FREAKY BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKS

MOD MOD please help okay so yesterday i was taking a shower and i noticed a bump the place down there. its not big but it isnt small. i told my mom and she said she had one when she was pregant with my sister, and that if i use very hot compresses on it then it will go down. what is it and where did it come from? is there any other way to help it? or treat it? please help im a little scared.

Hey girl!  I can't really say exactly what it is.  But sometimes hormones, body oil, or just irritation, can leave little bumps.  But it's no biggie!  It can be kinda scary, but if you told your mom, and she's not worried, there isn't any reason to worry too much.  Just do as she suggests.  If that doesn't work, you can always make a trip to the doc to get some pro help.  Don't worry girl! Best, Kristen

MOD ok so i heard that chocolate helps women grow. is this true? i also heard that women crave chocolate when they are on their period. are either of these true? ive been craving chocolate so does this mean i will get my period soon?

Hey girl! Chocolate usually does not help women grow but some do crave it at times. All girls are different so they may get different cravings. And no, just because you are having a bit of a craving does not mean you will get your period!

MOD MOD MOD whats the best and fastest way to lose weight on ur thighs spare me the- what counts is on the inside- thx

Hey! Well its true its what's on the inside that counts. But if you wanna lose weight on the inside of your thighs then you should use specific exercise moves that target the inside of your thighs. Also watch the portions of what you eat. Don't eat too much so that you can decrease the fat thats on your thighs. xoxo kerra

So... is salt water good for your hair and skin?
I had a few pimples, and after a day at the beach, and a pool of salt water, they were gone. And I also remember my hair and skin being all soft after taking showers at my grandma's house (she has a salt water shower). Is that normal? Could I take advantage of it? ... NOt in the bad way, hehe...

Hey, yes, I've heard that it has natural vitamins and minerals that are good for your hair and skin but I'm not really too sure on that. If it's working for ya though then sure, keep it up!

MOD- i have a huge mole on the back of my neck and i am so scared of putting my hair up even in a pony tail cuz people make fun of me one boy thought it was chocolate stuck on me neck when i was wearing to pig tails. is there any way of geting rid of it?

Hey Girl! You might want to talk to your parents about going to the doctor. The doctor will have more info on how to get rid of your mole.

Hi,this is a weird question, but how do you get rid of blisters? I've have two for about a year on my foot. Can blisters stay forever?

Hey girl! I think that the best thing to do would be to go to a doctor and ask him about it!

Thisxisxhalloweennd on 9/1/2009 2:36:36 PM

MOD When I had my well cjild check, my mom mentioned a mole on the back of my neck that has gotten larger. The doctor reccomended going to a dermoto- logist just to be safe(Like skincancer and stuff). Does it cost a big wad of cash to see one? I don't want to ask my mom because I've been asking my parents about stuff with money. Please answer! Thanks <3 ~Nerdykitty97Smile

Hey girl!  Dermatology appointments shouldn't be too expensive if your insurance covers it.  Just talk to your parents about it.  I know you don't want to push for them to spend more money, but this is health related and could be important if your doctor suggested the appointment.  Best, Kristen

I only have stretch marks on my butt. Luckily my bathing suit covers them. When I would wear really skimpy suit's i would just lay out in the sun making sure I tanned wear the marks were. It made them so much less noticable.
Hope it helps!

omg i have stretch mrks all over the place because of several things.i had this rapid growth spurt when i was like 6 (yes 6!!!!) and once i hit puberty i gained a lot of weight so they r on my arms and shoulder my bum a few on my boobs and just a couple on my lower back!!!!ugghhhh i hate tht i am the ONLY one of like any of the girls in my grade tht has them! but my cuz (who is a 16 yr old guy) has them on his hips lol.

I have a huge zit type thing on my armpit that has been there for years! Is it harmful? What can I do to get rid of it because its really embarrassing!?!?

Hey girl, if it's been hanging around for years, I suggest talking to your doctor about it. It could be something else. As for dealing with other zits, be sure to keep your skin clean. Wash your body with soap and your face with a cleanser morning and night. For that zit and any others, try applying spot treatment zit creams. They contain drying agents that'll help stop those pimples in their tracks. If things still aren't working out within a week or two, do talk to a doc or a rent. Zits should come and go - not hang around for years. Hope all goes well, girlie!

Try breaking open vitamin E capsules and rub the oil into the skin over the stretch marks daily for 2 weeks. Also works wonders on scars

hey! well i have a question. how do u get rid of an ingrown hair on your armpit? i tried asking my mom but she didnt know. so if i could get some tips that would be great!!!! thx!!!!

Hey babe,

Put a warm washcloth on it, wash with disinfectant, apply antibacterial ointment then try putting a bandaid on it until it heals. It should be gone after a few days. To avoid them in the future, try shaving both upwards and down when you're shaving your armpits.

there is this one girl that can be such a brta in my la classes. well today she wore really short shorts and he but was litterally hanging out of them. All dya people were talking about ehr and laughing at her and to be honest i joined in too. Should i tell her next time she wears those shorts what people are saying and i am sure she knows what she is doing because i overheard her telling one of her friends that she wore her shorts that make her butt hang out. If it was me i would want to know what people were saying but i wouldnt have purpousedly wore those shorts to begin with

Hey, if she knows what she's doing and has friends to talk about it with then I wouldn't bother saying anything to her. Some girls just like the attention that wearing something like that gives. To each his own!

MOD*MOD*MOD* ok 2 things
FIRST: I am almost into an A cup bra, but when I wear one i feel really self conscious because it kind of looks like i'm stuffing it (even tho i'm not) because it looks bigger than when I don't wear a bra.
SECOND: I can't find any padded bra's that aren't underwire! the little training fabric ones don't work that well, and then I have the first problem.

Hey babe,

All bras, if they fit right, make girls look a little chestier than they normally are, if only because it supports your breasts. You won't be able to find a padded bra without underwire, I think. Most bras have underwire, so you might want to start wearing them now anyway.
