It's time for a day off to kick back and relax after your first week of homework assignments, studying and pop quizzes. Yup, this Monday is already Labor Day! Celebrate our fave end-of-the-summer holiday by hosting a low-key cookout at your casa.
Invite some close pals, cute boys and cool new kids over to chill out and goof off on your first official "day off" from school. We'll show you some fab party ideas to get the year off to a relaxed and fun start!
Summin' Up Summer!
Since it's the end of summer, it's the last time to break out some warm-weather faves. Buy a bunch of cheap beach balls (one for each guest at the bash) and a couple of waterproof permanent markers. Have guests sign each other's and write a li'l message about a fun summer memory.

Farewell-to-Summer Fare
A good party isn't complete without a ton of tasty (not to mention healthy!) food.
These yummy burgs are perfect for a Labor Day cookout.
Serve this refreshing thirst quencher in some fancy champagne glasses and drink up! It'll look really cute and it's a great alternative to the standard "Coke or Sprite?" drink option.
What cookout wouldn't be complete without a side of potato salad?
We're so over boring fruit salad. Put that fruit on a skewer and make it look as delish as it tastes!
S'more of Summer
Test your outdoorsy skills by making a bonfire! Have your parents help you set up a bonfire in your backyard. Get everyone around and roast some marshmallows. And hey, it wouldn't hurt to burn one to a crisp and ask your crush to make you a new one! Sitting around the warmth of the fire makes a great environment to chat with some interesting girlies from your classes and it's the perf setting to cozy up to your crush!
Enjoy Warm Nights, Just One More Time
Tag, you're it! Now that it's starting to get darker earlier, get everyone together and play a game of good old flashlight tag. Remember that game? Grab some flashlights, head into the backyard, and get to it! Choose one person to be "it" and have him/her wait in the "jail" while the others hide in the dark. "It" counts to 60, then hunts for the other peeps in the dark (who may or may not be changing hiding spots). Once "it" spies a person they must shine the flashlight and say their name before they're sent home. Our even funnier tip? Pick silly nicknames before you do it to make it even more confusing when you identify each other.
