Pad-dle Pool

I was swimming in a really ritzy resort with a pad in and it was okay because my flow was really light. So anyways, I did some crazy jumps and my pad slid out and started floating around in the pool surrounded by girls in teeny bikinis who pointed and laughed. I swam for a little more so it didn't seem so obvious and then I ran. Fast.

never wear a pad swimming! you should wear a tampon but if not then don't use anything because water stops the flow of blood.

Hey babes, you are supposed to have that white stuff every day. That is your bodies way of cleaning itself. As for the tummy aches, a lot of stuff can cause that. Dont get worked up about it. It will happen eventually. In the mean time just be prepared. xo JANA

AWESOME WAY OF STAYING OUT OF IT! Those girls didn'thave any idea of what a good actress you are! you just slid out of there like you had nothing to do with it and they were laughing at nothing. The situation was handled great, you pretended they werent there, and dealt with the problem. Sometimes, but only sometimes, being invisible works. Very, vvery well.

i always wear tampons no matter what. i hate pads. you can never tell if your leaking trough one and with tampons you can. the thing that sucks though is that i got my period when i was 10! it sucked i had bad cramps

This is kind of an embarassing question, but sometimes even when I'm not on my period, it smells down there like discharge and stuff, and I always feel like I have my period when I don't. I'm afraid people can smell it too, do you think that they do?
Also, I know how they say to check with a handmirror and stuff on how to put in a tampon, but even with a mirror, the openings are unidentifiable!! Is this normal, are they small? HELP!!

Hey babe, be sure you're only posting your comments once. The discharge is normal, but if you have it every day and it smells strong, you should check with a doc to be sure there's no infection or anything. I'm sure you're fine, but it's always best to check these things out. Tampons can be tricky at first, but just keep feeling around and you'll get it eventually. Read the instructions that come in the box and don't be afraid to ask your mom for help with it, too.

My bff had her first period. Sadly it was on my birthday.Then on the Saturday after that which was my birthday party she had her period again.I was really sad because she couldn't go in my pool.But she gave me a b-day gift!It was a teddy bear with a heart that says "Happy Bithday!" on it.Around the bear was lolipops but a cute thing was the bear a balloon in his hand that said "Happy Birthday!"

my bff has had her period for a while and last thursday i had horrible cramps under my belly button, and i asked her if i was goona start she said yes so i was ready for anything accept for me to be in the nurces office asking for a pad and having my bf walk in and say "i can come back later..." and walking out i was mortified! to make it worse at lunch(this happened before lunch) my bf walksed up and said "hey are u ok, i asked some of my freinds that have older sisters and they say that it hurts and will make u moody." i almost screamed because when he said it i was next to Jennifer, and when she hears somthing the whole school will know it in an hour all the rest of the day people were asking me if a was ok or if i wanted a pad. what in really wanted was to cry, scream, and dissapear.

Okay, I'm kinda scared, and i'll probably go to my doctor soon, but i'll ask you first. So, i've had my period for 3 years now, and it's pretty regular...but it comes every three weeks, and it only lasts for like, 2 days max! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the shortness of my period, but idk if that's normal of not. And, when I do have my period, it'll be pretty light the first day (barely heavy enough to use a light tampon), and then the second day it's almost non existent, but i still have to wear a pad to catch "leaks". What's wrong with me?!?!

That does seem a little light. But don't stress too bad, your period will change all throughout your life. It will get heavier. Just to be sure you should tell your doctor about this just to be sure everything is ok. xoxo kerra

You use a tampon when you go swimming for two reasons.

The first is so that that tampon soaks up the blood and discharge when it is inside of us, with a pad the pool water would clean out the pad and that isnt good.

The second reason is so that we dont look like a guy and have this big bulge down there that can be seen through our bikini.

Hey girly, try Kotex and Always pads, they have really great ones for holding heavy cycles. When your friends ask you about it, just tell them you're not feeling well.

Hey girl! First, you can change it however many times you feel neccessary. You should go with whatever makes you feel most comfortable; it doesn't really matter. Second, try sleeping on your side to help prevent any leaks. Third, yes, you may break out a little when you're about to get your period. And, lastly, zits and pimples are the same thing. One or two will pop up every now and then. Acne is a more severe form of breakouts and zits.

Hey girl you usually get your period once a month, around the same date of each month. You could talk to your parents or a doctor for more info.

Hey girl! TSS tends to be more common with younger girls because the girls are caring for themselves as they should. You should be changing your tampon every 4-8 hours and washing your hands BEFORE and AFTER you use one. Also, make sure you are using the appropriate size tampon according to your flow!

hey girls!!!! yeahh so today i was in science and my friend noticed i wasnt feeling well, i had cramps BELLOW my belly button, shes has hers so she said i need to go to the nurse. i went to the bathroom and sure enough i had started my period! she told our math teacher (shes a girl), and then we went to the nurse and i got a pad. i was late to my last class(homeroom), but i just told him that i went to the nurse for personal reasons! thats all, and i was very freaked out and crying, but every girl goes through it, so theres NOTHING to be ashamed of!
