Dress up your desk

 
With a hectic school sched it’s easy for your desk to become a catchall for  your cleats and clarinet. Not anymore, girl. It’s time to ditch the clutter and cut out the chaos. A clear workspace means less stress and less time searching for your calculator.
 
Here are some fab tips to help you get organized (and stay that way!). Plus, we’re giving away some pretty pens!
Pitch some pens
Get rid of stuff you don’t need. Go through you pens, pencils, markers, etc. and toss anything that doesn’t work. Keep your faves in a pretty mug or pencil holder.

Feel the feng shui
There’s nothing wrong with trying to bring a little positive energy to your desk. For wisdom, neatly stack your books (school or just some favorites) in far left-hand corner. MOD MOD MOD MOD ok. im at a diff skool than my bff, and shes made some new friends. but it seems lately its all about her, like a sort of my-way-or-the-highway attitude. shes always been a lil like that (in no offense to her shes totally awesome!) but its starting to bother me more than ever lately. i spent almost all of my summer with another close bff, and i know shell always b there for me and shes always there if i need her, but my other bff seems not to care about my skool and my stuff anymore compared to hers. im really happy for her tht she loves her new skool too, but i feel like im sorta almost getting shut out for her new friends. what do i do?

The best ideas are unique and original! Try brainstorming what is unique to your friend JM...what does she like to do that sets her a part from the crowd? Why does she want to be the Student Council vice pres. ? What does she want to change?

This is tough! It sounds like drama central at your school,I'm sorry babe!  If he's dating someone else, let him have fun with his new gf and continue to be his friend. If he stays with the other girl then he isn't worth your time pursuing. You could tell him what happened and that it was a whole misunderstanding. Just be yourself, be nice,and maybe he'll come around!

MOD ok so theres this guy that i really really like. last year he knew i liked him and i thinkkk he might have liked me back a little. now this year, i don't think he has any idea that i like him at all. last year i kind of made a fool of myself so i don't really want to talk about him to everyone anymore. but i have no idea what to do around him! i know, i know. i should "be myself" but its impossible to do that when i get so nervous around himm. and he always catches me looking at him then i kinda laugh haha and i look really stupid. he's not in my grade, but he rides my busss and he doesn't really seem interested in talking to me. what the heck do i do?!

 

Hey chicky, it can be hard to be cool, calm and collected around your crush. But you just have to remember he's a person just like you. He's a normal human being (although it may not seem like it), so you shouldn't get nervous. Whenever you're around him, take a quick second, to close your eyes, inhale and then exhale to calm yourself. When you feel you're about to laugh as he's looking at you, bite your tongue and either smile at him or look away. Hopefully these tips will help ya!

so today i finally told the boy i like that i like him. as in legit saying "i like you" to his face.
i'm proud of myself for even doing it, but of course, he turned me down. and i'm sick of my friends saying that it's his loss. they are being great, but i need someone to be honest.
why don't boys like certain girls? i've always been confident about how i look and who i am, and i'm not changing that. i'm a really independent girl, i'm not just going to act all flouncy to make the guy feel good about himself. and i know i'm pretty, but i am more curvy all over that other girls. i just don't get why boys don't like me. in magazines boy always say they want that smarts or sense of humor is more important then looks. but to me that seems like lies... besides, it feels like most guys just want a girl to cheer them on and not be a real person.
i guess i'm just kind of bitter today....

I know what you mean. You read all of these magazines that say: Just be yourself!

Some guys are immature. They want and need girls to build up their confidence. They just want the brainless cheering to get them pumped up. This doesn't mean you should lower your standards and start acting less-smart than you really are. Guys grow up, they get more mature, and they grow to want girls who can make a good conversation, have a good laugh, be relaxed, low-key, and fun. You will find the guy for you. It's normal to be bitter, but stay positive babe. Keep your head up, eventually you'll find a guy who deserves you and treats you like awesome girl you are.

Sometimes parents don't know how to react when their daughters start having crushes. My dad did the same thing to me,and made me feel really embarrassed and ashamed for my crushes! Crushes are completely normal,and nothing to be embarrassed about! They're a normal part of life, and you can't help who you fall for!  Don't  let them get you down, have confidence and fun with the boys you want to hang out with!

Forever 21 has a lot of Vintage-y looks, also thrift shops, consignment shops, and hand-me-downs are all considered Vintage! Taking something old, wearing it, and turning into your own ...now that's style!

My 2 best friends live a block away from eachother and they go to movies, go shopping, and have sleepovers-usually without me! They include me a lot but most of the time they don't even think to ask me! Last week I asked them if they wanted to sleepover at my house and their parents said they couldn't but I found out later that they had a sleepover without me that night! During the summer they had sleepovers every single night and didn't invite me! I always have to be the one who brings up sleepovers or hanging out. In school they have lots of classes together and I only see them at lunch. They think that I don't know that they exclude me. What should I do?

No problem! That's hard when it's 3 friends together. Usually one person gets left out, it's normal. If they aren't making an effort then you shouldn't have to either. I think it's great if you still want to be friends, but try making plans with different friends who have time to hang out! You deserve friends who will make time for you!

Try to talk to your mom about it and try to be mature and respectful of her decision. Ask her to give you a chance by letting you go to this movie and if that goes well to maybe increase your freedom slowly over time. You have to give her a reason to trust you, but as long as you listen to her she won't have any reason not to trust you.

Okay, so i just moved to a really small town and started school about a month ago. All of my new friends wear makeup, and im totally clueless! my parents are okay with a little makeup and say that i can expand if i wanna, but i have no clue what kind of makeup is the right kind for me and what looks good. I am 13 with shoulder length brown hair, fair skin, and a tonsa freckles. So my question to you...what are some good makeup ideas that are kinda subtle but are still noticeable? Pretty much all you need is some mascara and lip gloss with maybe some eyeliner. Any more than that is really too much for school. It might be a lot of fun to have your friends over to give you a makeover. They might really have fun giving you advice and you would get a live and in person lesson about what to do and what looks good on you!

sleeping is the best way to kill time when you're sick. It makes time go faster and it helps your body heel. You can try putting on a dvd that you've seen a lot so you're not tempted to stay up and watch it and try to take a nap.

hey there! (allie i think) ok so i really really really really reallllly wanna be friends with this new-ish girl. she sits at the same lunch table with me kinda. but i have 3rd lunch and she has 2nd. but the lunchs overlap so im with he for 15 minutes at lunch. but the think is the first 15 minutes when im not there she sits with my friends and everything but then once i get there she leaves to go with her other friends. I think texting her about the football game is a good idea. You can even make plans to go together, which will give you a chance to hang out with her. Try not to text her during the school day though, I'm pretty sure your school doesn't allow that. That might be why she hasn't be answering.

hello(-: i need some help. My hair is soo boring. I only wear it down every day. I need some tips to style my hair without buying anything. Its brown and shoulder length and I dont have much except a flat iron and clips and things. Please help me! And also I heard you can curl your hair with a flat iron can you actually do that??? Hey babe,

Try braids - they're really cute and there are tons of different ways to do them. You can curl your hair with a flat iron by putting about two inches in between the panels like usual but then wrapping them around it and holding it there for a little bit. The curls will be loose but if you spray them with hairspray they will hold longer.

modmoddd! ok all my BGFs are in a band, and they're having auditions for a singer!! I'm pretty sure i would be a great choice, and so do my bffs. they're really really good, and they play a lot of rock songs. i don't know most of them. how could i learn a few before my audition?? xoxo kacey




Hey babe,

Ask one your bgf the names of the songs and look them up on YouTube. You can get the lyrics online too, if you search for the song in Google. If you have a way to record yourself so you can hear what you sound like, that might be really helpful too!

you can make mag file magazine files, and its so simple to do! all ya gotta do is cut out openings in a ceral box and go to the store and buy paper to put on it. (preferably wrapping paper, its easiest to use) and you got mag file magazine file for way less money than what you would have payed for to buy it! plus, its totally fun to do this, with your friends its even a funner project!

ok,so this girl i know at taekwondo asked me today on email on myspace if i wanted to go to the mall cuz shes bored and home alone and everything...and i responded and i was like yeahhhh of courseee!!! but whenever i see her and stuff i never know what to say like at taekwondo we just end up standing there like "yeah..." nad looking at eachother and just b like tht shes 18, im 13...i really wanna go to the mall with her though...any ideas on what to talk about tht wont sound geekish and wat-not?!! thanks and also theres this boy i will call him C okay so apparently C reallly likes me and asked his friend...Z who sits behind me in world history, and C sits to the right of Z...and he asked me and our corner started talking and eerythng and Z is a funny perosn so i thought they were just kidding around so i said ummm idk...no...and i had a problem where i liked dis boy last year and he said i was jk so tht wat i thought they were gonna do to me...so today i asked C for some hawaiin punchand he said no you turned me down and i was like....oh crap...cuz i realllly like C and i asked Z on the bus if he would tell C i really like him cuz on the bus this afternoon Z saw me and my friend talkng and heard his name and so Z is going to tell C i really like him,,and i do...so wat can i do about tht too? thanks!!!

Hmm...without products I'm pretty much at a loss. From one curly girl to another though--don't brush your hair too much, it'll increase frizz.

I ride the bus w/ kides grades 4-12. I'm in 7th grade. Some of the high schoolers r really loud and obnoctious. Like this one guy whos always talking about boobs. Its sooo annoying. the bus driver thinks its funny. what shud i do?? btw hes in 11th grade and is over 6 feet tall.

 

Ummm...gross! Ugh, I would try to ignore this loser, but if he personally harasses or offends you tell an adult.

MOD*MOD*MOD*MOD Hey! Guess what! Well, you know the clear skin challenge, right? Well, since that, I have been experimenting with a lot of different uh....stuff, to see which one works the best for my face. I think I have the solution! Wash your face with anti-bacterial soap and a gentle face cleanser suitable for all skin types and afterwards apply moisterizer(with spf if you are going out in the sun and one that can be used on acne prone skin). Exfoliate very very lightly every day to just get that layer of dead skin cells that can clog your pores and give you those beastly bumps. =P This has worked miracles for me! It has worked way better than all that tons of acne treatment stuff, and it feels great! I've hardly had any breakouts! =D So, what do you think!? Do you think I've made a great discovery!?

My desk is pretty organized. I have a drawer for paper, markers, calculators, erasers and all that stuff. I also have a little jar/cup thing that holds all my pencils and pens. A tip to make your desk seem happier is to get a bulletin board and hang pictures of things you like! I have a big bulletin board that's filled with pictures of my friends and family. It's really nice to look at in the middle of my homework -- like an instant way to cheer up!

I remember seeing a craft on how to make those mag holders out of some magazine clippings and a cereal box. Now I really want to make one for my desk. And you could probably make a pencil holder out of something too. Maybe clay or buy something plain to make a decoupage on.
