Newcomer in our clique

 

My two best friends have been hanging out with a girl who I don’t really want to be around. She talks about people (sometimes our other friends) behind their backs.


Plus, whenever we hang out, all four of us, they go off on their own without me. It's like she hogs them. Should I confront her? Stay away from her? I’ve tried ignoring her, and I’m afraid that if I get close to her and we get in a fight that she’ll end up talking about me. What should I do?


Hey babe, adding a new girl to a close group of friends can be really frustrating and stressful but trust me, it happens to all of us at some point and it usually isn't as big a deal as we make it seem.


The important thing to remember is that these other girls are your BFFs. They obviously like you for a reason and they're not going to ditch you the second a new chica comes along. Don't worry about what COULD happen. Just figure out how to handle what's going on right now.


Give the girl a shot...

What to do about the newbie? Figure out if she's truly an evil friend-stealer who you should stay away from, or someone who mighta gave you the wrong first impression. Were you being too judgmental because you were intimidated by her and the new relationships she made with your pals? It's normal to feel this way, and we all do it without even realizing it. Try to start over with her and take a fresh approach. Does she have any redeeming qualities? Just think, this could be the start of a great friendship.


Speak up!

Gave the new girl a shot and she still seems sketchy? Talk to your friends about what she's saying and doing. News flash: talking about people and leaving others out is so not cool. So, it's better to get these things off your chest before you ruin friendships with your besties, too.


I'm sure you can work it out, girl. Just give her another chance. If that doesn't work I'm sure you can find a compromise between you and your best chicas.

so i heard somewhere that if you keep your hair in a ponytail that it won't grow cuz they ponytail holder cuts off curclation. that was about 3 monts ago and i didn't believe it but now i asked my friend the same question and she said ya that it did and it kinda makes sense my hair has only grow like maybe half an inch since then what should i do i hate the way my hair looks down but i hate just putting it up in a pony. my friends all say it looks pretty down but i don't know wheather to believe them.
p.s there's this guy in my class that im trying to impress, more like get him to notice me, and would you think if i did my hair down or diff. and started to wear makeup, eyeshadow and that would that get his attention, he's never dated anyone as far as i know and he's really shy but bffs with the most popular guy in our class.what should i do?????

my best friend and i are so close. shes like the twin sister i've always wanted. lately she has been keeping stuff from me. i found out that shes been dating a "bad boy" for two months and didnt tell me! he steals people's phones, drinks, and smokes! I told her she could do much better but she wouldn't listen to me. She said she was going to break up with him so i would be happy. i dont want her to do that. i just want her to be happy but preferably with somebody who doesnt do bad stuff like that. Hey girl, sounds like you have every right to be concerned -- this guy is NOT good news at all. Encourage her to dump him not for you but for her. She CAN do better and he's NOT a good person to hang around with. Help her carry through with it and then watch out for nice guys next time. You both deserve the best and that dude def isn't anywhere near it.

k ive got 2 friend issues
1: theres this girl who is my third bff. she always seems to luv hangin out w/ us but not always when im alone. then 1 of my besties, whos like her sister, told me that this girl only pretended to like me, so she could get like answers and gum. its really annoyin cause she'll make plans my other 2 bffs when im right there!!! it's really hurtfull and annoying

2: there is 1 girl who USED to be 1 of my bffs. then we started middle school and she starts wearing all name brands and hanging w/ popular kids. now she doesn't even talk to me.
any advise on either of these?

We just got a new comer in our group, and at first I wasn't totally into becoming friends with her, but now she's one of my bffs. Maybe the new girl in your group is insecure, and you should just hope that she rights her wrongs. And maybe if you include her in things with your friends, she'll include you too.

okay.. MOD?************* i've been talking to this guy for like a year and a half. and we're REALLY close friends.. well, lately for the past month or two he has had a bad attitude and has been mean.. which is unlike him. i don't know whats wrong.. but one day when he was in a bad mood he kinda got mean torwards me and we got into an argument two weeks ago over texts. and it ended in me kind of calling off the friendship. i've always kinda liked him.. but now he's acting like this. we haven't talked or texted in two weeks.. should i text him first or wait and see if he wants to talk to me? and why has he changed like this? or should i just give up on him? i dont know what to do. advice from mod and others please!

 

Hey girl. Tough sitch! I would say if you're concerned around the way he's been acting to try texting him to see if he wants to talk about your friendship. Let him know you're upset about the way it ended. If he really appreciated you as a friend, I'm sure he misses you, too.

MOD MOD MOD So there was this new girl in my class and she didnt know anyone so i decided to hang out with her a little bit to make her feel welcome. She's really cool and i like her alot. Hey babe! If you feel threatened you should tell an adult ASAP that your friend is threatening or harrassing you. Be friends with the people you want to be friends with. You did nothing wrong, in fact it was really sweet of you to include the new girl and make her feel welcome!  Let your upset friend know you can't just be friends with her, and you want to be friends with lots of people (including her)!

MOD MOD MOD MOD! Hi I'm not comfortable with the group I'm hanging out with. I can't talk to them about anything and they never listen when I have something to say. Some girls act self centered and I'm tired of it! The thing is, I cant find another group of girls to hang out with because they are all worse than my current group or I just dont have anything in common with them or both. Hey chicky, you'll be going to a completely different school with completely different people. So I'm sure you'll meet girls who will treat you like real friends are supposed to treat each other. I know exactly how you feel. I had a friend that I been friends with since I was a baby and we started drifting a part.
The first thing that I would do would be to talk to your friend. (Try to be face to face). Tell her how you feel and that you don't what it to be the end your guys friendship. It could be that your friend is really busy and she doesn't realize that you feel left out.

Okay I have 5 really close friends, but one of them let's call her,Sky. Well one day Sky went and hung out with this new girl let's call her Elena. Well Elena and Skye have been hanging out with eachother all week now and they've been acting all snobby to us. We can't get her back and we don't know what to do. Hey girl, it's hard to say exactly but understand that as you grow up, you guys will grow a part. I would not hold a grudge against Sky, but I wouldn't get too attached to her either. Be nice and friendly, but know she's not a true blue friend. Give her some time because it's up to her to figure out who her true friends are.

Hey girl, it's hard to say but there are def signs. If the guy is reaching out to you, making an effort to hang with you, talking to you, and even hinting dating those are def indicators he might just be into you. Me and my 4 friends have been friends for a year now and we have lots of fun chating,jokeing, laughing and helping each other and girls get jealus of use and whant to now everything about use and they never invite use to there partys some girls whant to be our friends too but we now there fakeing it. how can all the jealusy and meaness stop.

Hey girl, it's great you have friends saying that but let me assure you, tons of pretty girls don't have boyfriends. Don't sweat it and remember you DO NOT need a boyfriend to show you you're pretty. The thing is, girl, it's what's on the inside that counts. My suggestion is to not sweat the guys. Just be yourself and the right one, I promise, will come to you.
