I’m a sophomore and at my youth group, there is a group of freshmen girls who will not leave me alone. Because they are all freshmen, at first they didn’t know many people, so I took the initiative and welcomed them into the group. But now that I’ve gotten to know them a little bit better, and they're really obnoxious. I don’t want to alienate them because I know what it’s like to be the new kid. But oh my gosh!

I try to be friendly, but they are like parasites! If I talk to them for a while and then go to talk to someone else, they will literally just appear at my side. And I think two of them have crushes on my brother (who is three years older than them) and his friends, which is just not right if you ask me.

How can I put some distance between myself and this gaggle of giggling freshmen without seeming rude? I really don’t want to hurt their feelings, but it’s driving me insane!

Sigh, that's a total stinker! Kudos though for showing those girls around and being so friendly!

But how to get them to back off? This is a toughie. You want them to leave you alone without seeming obnoxious and rude yourself. Definitely branch out and talk to other people at your youth group. When the girls appear beside you, acknowledge them with a "Hey, whatsup!" and then say your busy talking to whoever you're talking to and ask if you can get back to them (the freshmen girls) later. Later on go over and make light convo with the freshmen girls. If they get to be too much while you're talking to them wave to someone else you know, excuse yourself from the freshmen group and go talk to that other person! Hopefully after a couple of times, they'll get the hint.

I'm hardly trust anyone. And i'm trying to make new friends. I don't want to tell them so much secrets if possible very little. I just find it hard to trust people.What do i do.

Hey babe, trusting friends with secrets takes a long time to do. Just work on a few close relationships rather than a lot of not-so-close friendships and soon enough it'll feel natural to share secrets with those one or two girls.

I have 3 close friends who i hangout with at lunch most times and i tell them most (75%) of stuff going on with me,secrets etc. I sorta don't think we click and i'm trying to make new friends that i could hang with cause my friends NEVER go outside thier always at the libary/in a math or science class for help even if the still get 90's and stuff and apart from that they never come to my locker i always have to go to thier lockers and its mostly boring when talking to them cause it seems like i'm the only who has a crush and is taking risk and haas interesting stuff to say. One of them does somethings that just pisses me off and she comes back thinking everything is okay, well i know i have some anger isusses myself but i just can't stand her at times. The other too are like really close and stuff and they go to each others lockers but not mine its so fustrating cause it seems like i'm doing everything for them (throw thier garbage for them, talk to someone for them, do this and that) and yet they are sooooo not aware of it they act like if i have anything bothering me i should talk to them but i keep saying it okay cause i don't know how to tell them that i just don't get them. All my old friends and other friends don't act like this to me-its so fun hanging out with them and also i'm MYSELF with them but not my so-called-best-friends. They never help me on anything they just push me to ask someone to dance or something or say its okay. We had a school dance about i think 2 weeks ago and guess what my so-called-besfriends-did? I asked them to help me with my crush and that we should all dance close to him so me and my crush could talk but my they just bailed and like i felt so embarrased cause it seemed like i was stalking the guy or something and i was a loner cause he mostly saw me without my friends there. And now guess what? Me and my crush don't talk anymore...and instead of doing something else i now have to try and make him think i don't like him and try talking to him... cause atleast i want us to be close friends! I don't know what to do about my ''friends''? Plz help they make me miss my old friend even moree and hanging with y other friends. AND we've never hungout outside of school, yes NEVER. its just that fustrating!

Hey girl, I can def see what you mean. My suggestion is to distance yourself from them. Hang with your new friends and let your old friends miss you. Gradually break your ties because you never know. They might realize how much they miss you and stop at your locker sometime. (; Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Hey girl! Just be there for her. She's really going to need your friendship and support for a while. Take her to movies or to the mall and be around when she needs you! She'll be so grateful to have you!

MOD MOD MOD Ugg help me! my three closest friends are acting really weird. My first friend is acting pervy, and it started like over night she never was this weird, but now she is and it's creeping me out cuz I have to see all her weird facebook messages. My second friend is 13 and she wants to see an R rated movie that is completly innaproproate and she shouldn't see and she doesn't take my advice when I say she shouldn't see it. Ok then the big problem all three of my friends are copy cats!!! one girl got a hamster so the next girl did and now they ALL have hamsters. Good for you for sticking with what you believe in and not following the crowd blindly. You sound like an intelligent girl. Try not to let your friends get to you. If they copy each other, then who cares? Just let them do it and know that you have your own style!

MOD*MOD*MOD* I get kinda jealous of my BFF sometimes because she has other close friends--And those other friends don't like me that much--I have told her how I feel, and she said that she just wants to have some other friends if we ever got in a fight or something, but I still get jealous.

Hey babe, it's ok for friends to have other friends but you're right, it can lead to hurt feelings. Why not find other friends yourself? Seek out other groups in school that you have something in common with, but keep your bff close, too.
