Mom's reading my diary!

I keep a diary and my parents are divorced so I switch between houses every week. I have this really big suspicion that my mom reads it on the weeks that I'm not at her house. For example, when I learned a secret about my mom I wrote it in my diary. The next week she took me into her room and asked me if I heard or saw something in her room. She was acting like I knew her secret.

Another night I got really mad at my stepdad because he was yelling at me. I wrote in my diary that I hated him. The next week I came back to my mom's house and she asked me if I felt badly about my stepdad. Does that mean she looks in it? If she does, how can I stop her? My diary already has a lock on it! I can't just go up to her and tell her to stop looking in it when I am not even positive that she actually is. I have considered putting a dirty, juicy lie that would make her concerned and see if she fesses up that she looks in my diary. What should I do? HELP ME!

Hey girl, keeping a diary is a good way to vent and really express yourself. I’ve been keeping one since I was 13 and it definitely helps me get through some tough times. But other people reading your private thoughts? Not so cool.

Ask mama if she's invading your privacy

You don’t know for sure if your mom is reading your diary, so you shouldn’t assume that she is. Instead of thinking she’s a snoop, it may be best to talk to her. Make sure you’re not confrontational and explain to your mother why your PRIVATE diary is important to you.

Try something along the lines of, “Hey Mom, my diary is really special to me and it would really make me uncomfortable if you read it. If you have a question about something, I would appreciate if you ask me about it first.”

Be honest!

Your mom will respect your honesty and she’ll be impressed by how maturely you've handled the situation. And if she were reading your diary behind your back, chances are she’ll think twice before opening it now. Keep the lines of communication open and you’ll have a great relationship. If you think his parents might tell, it's definitely better that you let your parents know first. If they hear it from someone else they'll be even angrier. Just try to be mature and reasonable when you talk to them about it. The calmer you are the better they'll take the news. Maybe if you hang out with your bf and his parents with your parents they'll see that you guys are good together!

my parents and i dont rly geT along very well. the other day i made a huge mistake that i will regret forever. i feel like im not loved and i go into chat rooms and other stuff. it was getting to be a problem and my dad looked at my laptop. now my parents are dragging me to counciling today and i dont want to go. i dont like sharing my feelings and i get embarresed rly easily. i wish my parents would just believe me when i say i will never do it again instead of having me tell my problems to some stranger.

Hey girl! Try to go into it with an open mind. Even if you feel there is nothing to share, it might help just to chit chat with someone. Try it out and if you don't like it, then try talking to your 'rents again.

hey mod....
My older sister is going on college visits and she is excited to get out of the house. When I was at a college visit with my sister, it was like 2 hours away from home and she really likes the college. I'm the youngest of four. I realize now that I'm going to be by myself at home now. I won't have anyone to hang out with. I'll be in high school by myself and it's going to be really weird. I cried all night about how she is leaving. My oldest sister and brother are already in college, and yeah i cried a lil over that, but my older sister was the one i hung out with the most.
How am I going to deal with this?

Hey girl, I know it's rough, but know you're never truly apart from your sis. You've got your friends at home and your sis a little farther away. She'll be back to visit during the holidays and you can Skype or IM her anytime. You could call her every night even. College is a toughie to get used to when you're far away from the fam, but believe me when I say you'll find a way to stay in touch. Promise.

i have some guy questions. (i will number my questions). I like this guy. his name is andy. i talk to him all the time when we text. my mom is always reading my diary and i try to tell her to stop but she won't it gets pretty anoying when she does read it but i now know where to hide it in my pillow case and to lock it and buy a lock and a key for it and now i read my moms to lol!!!!! Eryn G.

I keep a diary too. My mom reads it, and I am absolutely positive she reads it. Try this mom-theif trick! It's foolproof! Try this one first; 1. Place a camera in the corner of your room, and leave it on wile ur at skool. Make sure it doesn't beep when its on, cuz then shell find out ur taping her, and shell turn it off. If that fails, try something a little more complex. Persuade ur rents 2 get a webcam, and if u alreadyhave onw, gr8! Leve it on, and you'll see what mama's doing! Try and snatch a mom!!!

I don't like being around my family right now. Whenever I am I am annoyed by them. I don't know what to do! And when my attitude is bad cause I don't want to be around them, my mom gets mad at me and says my attitude is changing and then won't let me do anything! Hey babe,

Relax! Try to spend more time away from them while you're doing homework. Get involved in other sports or activities and do your own thing more often. You'll start to realize that you want to talk to your fam about stuff that's going on and find yourself being less annoyed soon enough.

That's a good question. A guy who is flirting with you will gently tease you. A guy who is flirting with you, won't make you feel badly about the way you look. If you feel like you want to cry or if you do cry, chances are this guy is just being mean.

*MOD* one time there was a party at my house and me and my older brother shared rooms with me and we had a bookcase and in there was my diary. when he brought some of my older cousins in they started to search things and my brother didn't care. they found my diary and got in a little cirle and i had no idea. i have a cousin and i thought he was sort of cute. now they tease me all the time. and they also found who my secret crush was and every time my brother walks me home from school he says that i love my secret crush. That's a super embarrassing moment! What they did was way out of line. The best way to get through this is to laugh it off. If your brother and cousins tease you just laugh along with him and make the whole thing into a big joke. When they see that you don't get mad and upset, they won't tease you as much anymore.

Diaries are meant to be private. I would hate if my mom was reading mine. Its just some things in our teen years should be private and just for us if you know what I mean.

The only way I think she should be getting nosey is if she thinks you are in danger from either using drugs or dating a much older guy. Other than that it should be private.

How rude if she's doing that. A diary's purpose is to jot down your feelings, not for other people, especially our mom, to read and look through. I have tried keeping a diary but it just isn't for me......my little sisters used to find it, read it, and then try to blackmail me. Lol. I don't keep one anymore, but luckily my mom isn't the type of person to read it if I did.

okay 3 questons (1) How do you become a mod (2) Do you hate it when ppl talk in text talk? Like if it's hard to read? (3) Okay here is the serious question that NEEDS to be answered. To the point now. Okay, so my crush was going out with my friend and then he told me that he broke up with her in a couple of weeks. Then at lunch break I asked him out and he said yes! So then my friend found out that I asked him out and told that girl(I know this is confusing) and she got mad at me and said he never broke up with her and anyways even if he did break up with her I wasn't allowed to date him! I still believe my BF story cuz she's just being protective, but she won't even let me talk about him in front of her now! IDK what to do!

heip! there is a new girl at my school (she came late last year), we all tried to be nice to her but she just didn't talk to us. now most people don't try to talk to her 'cause it hurts to be ignored, but i can connect with those shy people well & she has stsred talking to me. BUT SHE STILL WONT BE SOCIAL TO ANYONE ELSE!!!! How can i be nice to her if she is rude to ALL my friends! what should I do?

1. i went to a party today...and my crush was there. so i had a jansport bag and he sent a little grl to take and she did. so she gave it to and he started lookin in it. so, does that mean he likes me?
2. i told a bunch of kids im 13 (and im not) and that im in the 8th grade (im not in 8th grade either) so it that bad or illegal? plzzzz help me on the 2nd question and apperently the 1st one too.

Do not tell people youre wrong age, nothing good can ever come of it. So i suggest you tell them all the truth. Also about the boy, i suggest you keep flirting and getting to know him. Then you'll know him better and be able to tell if he likes you. Good luck! xoxo kerra
