Friend Drama!

The most unfortunate thing happened: I know this one girl who isn’t my really good friend, but I still like her as a friend and a person, and she’s also my neighbor so we like to hang out. Well, two days ago, her brother committed suicide.

Now my mom now won’t let me go to their house anymore for sleepovers and stuff because of what happened (and also because she has something against her family which I can’t really say).

I want to still be this girl’s friend and everything. How do I convince my mom to let me hang out with her?

I’m sorry, girl! That’s a rough situation for anyone to go through. Your friend and her family are probably in grief right now, and most likely will be for a while. It’s always hard to tell how to act towards a friend who’s lost a family member, and your mom might be looking out for your neighbor’s best interests.

You should have a talk with your mom about what happened to your friend’s brother, and how the family is reacting. Explain to your mom that you really value the friendship you have with this girl, and point out that this is the time when she needs her friends and a helping hand more than ever. Ask your mom to respect your choice of a friend and together you can work out a plan of action that would let your friend know that you are there for her and that you care.

Be a good friend by listenting to her...It really helps by listenting if your friend is grieving... I remember the day my grandpa died, my BFF stuck by me and let me talk to her! It helped sooooooo much! Then maybe your mom might get the clue how much this friend means to you...if not, let her hang out at your house! Good Luck!!

my bff practices a different religion than me, and out of the 3 years ive known her, she never came to my house and she hasnt had a sleepover with me at all. its really hard because her 'rents are really strict and, as much as my parents try to talk to them, they dont really talk 2 my 'rents. HELP!

I'm not sure what to say. Don't let it affect your friendship too much! At least you still get to see her. Make plans outside of each others houses like going shopping or to a school event or to the movies or to eat pizza. Her parents just might have very different views than your parents, so they have nothing in common. Just keep on being BFFs!

MOD MOD MOD! My best friend got a "buddy" at the beginning of school, where she takes a new student around the school, and introduces them. Well she got this very shy girl. My BFF included the new girl in EVERYTHING even though she is nothing like us. Now, its almost November, and the girl still sits with us at lunch, and thinks we're friends with her. She cries everyday at school, at least twice. We really don't know why; it's usually because of silly reasons, like she got an answer wrong, or she "suspects" people of talking about her. This really bugs me because she's very arrogant too. How can I tell my BFF how I feel, and how can we get the new girl to move on from us and sit with her new friends at lunch? I feel bad, but there is no way I could possibly be friends with this wall flower. PLEASE HELP. ****MOD****

Hey girl! You can try talking to your BFF about it but you might be bettter off just dealing with it. The girl might be really homesick for her old school and your group is doing a really cool thing by befriending her!

MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!! okay so it feels like everyone is ignoring me. I told my bff that and she said i don't right? and i said sometimes and she said if you ever feel like i am then please tell me. so she and the 'poplular' girl are starting to be friends. so at recess she and the 'popular' girl and i were hanging out but it felt like my bff is changin and i have noticed she has been acting different and what not and she changes her voice like goes really i pitched like they do.
also in one of my class there was only 2 ppl in the back including my bff (same one) and another girl i don't care for that much. so i sat next to the girl i don't relly care for because i thought i could strike a convo. well my bff was talking to her the whole time then i saw that she got a piece of paper out and they started passing notes. and it looked like she was trying to block it. i did see thAT it said I STILL FEEL CRAPPY but the way she was covering it and kept looking over at me and i was the last in the row. what should i do about all of this??????? how do i stop getting ignoreed by all my friends???? it feels lke now they are all trying to be friends with the 'popluar' girl. what should i do??? and i don't really want to talk to them about it because i don't like takling my feelings out with ppl. it juat feels like they gossip about me.

Hey girl, first of all, no need to feel paranoid about what's going on. Chances are they aren't gossiping about you. As for being ignored? Well, the best way to get some attention is to join the group. Speak up. Make yourself known! And be confident. Your friend obviously cares and other girls do too. Believe it.

Hey girl, start with decorations -- maybe some spider webs and lights -- and then food. Be sure to have plenty of refreshments for your guests. After you've covered the basics, go for games. Maybe some Halloween music or Apples-to-Apples?

Okay, so I told one of my best friends who I liked and she was sitting with her BF and my other friends before school and before i got there and her BF said "I think Sam has a crush on me," and she said "No, she like so-and-so--whoops, I'm not supposed to say that," and then her BF was talking about it in advisory and another kid found out and im mad at her telling him, him talking about it and being so egotistical! Im e-mailing her now and she told me i could either get over it or hate them forever.
What should I say to her?!
I also have school with her tommorow and we sit together in the morning and i have no where else to sit!

Hey girl, a guy is def not worth giving up a friendship for. Take a deep breath. What your friend did was kind of jerk, but is it really worth giving up years of friendship? I don't think so. Think about it. The worst that can happen is this guy finds out. If he likes you, that icky sitch could turn out being great. And if he doesn't? Well, you'll move on, but you'll still have your friend. So don't sweat it, girl. Instead of giving them up, just tell her it hurt your feelings when she did that -- that you don't like the fact you can't trust her. Be sincere about it, and I promise girlie, she will listen.

Hey, how was your day today? Well, mine was okay... So on Facebook, my best friend said that her dad was offered a job in Colorado, and that they were discussing moving there. So I was all like COLORADO?!?!?! And then she was like no one would miss me, no one would care that I was gone. So I posted 'I'd miss you!' or something like that, and then she was all like don't pretend that you'd miss me, you have Andrea and Elysa, you don't need me. It isn't a definite yes that she's moving, but it's a possibility. Do you think she's just upset about might moving?
