I get pit stains. I shower daily and use strong deodorant.

Yet, I have stains before second period. Help!

As if you don’t have enough to worry about in puberty, right? Excessive sweating is called hyperhidrosis. According to guidelines from the International Hyperhidrosis Society, you know you have it if your sweating is embarrassing, depressing or prevents you from doing things.

“Most people don’t even tell their best friends,” says Dr. Doris Day, spokesperson for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a dermasurgeon in New York City. She recommends an over-the-counter product containing a deodorant and antiperspirant (try Certain Dri, drugstore.com). If that doesn’t work, a dermo can help you with this problem.

I totally have this problem. I went to the dermatologist and they still didn't know what to do. They gave me a product to try but it didn't work. So yeah I'm stuck and it's SO embarrassing.

MOD MOD MOD! The guy that I like got really mad about something that happened and told a teacher. To sort things out I had to tell the teacher and the guy I like that I like him. Before this happened we were really good friends all the time but now it's akward and we don't talk as much. I try to talk to him but now it feels like I'm too clingy. I really want it to go back to normal. What should I do?

Hey girl, it is really hard to reverse that stuff. All you can do is sit through it and hope things get better with time. Don't try to force anything and give him space. That sort of stuff ALWAYS settles down after a few days. xo JANA

I also get pit stains right away and I asked my mom if I could get one of those Rx deodorants from the drug store, but she said I don't need it. Do I have that condition? it especially shows when I wear t-shirts with shorter, tighter sleeves. What should I do?? Thanks!

Hey girl! It's normal to sweat and it will definitely be more noticeable in tighter shirts. Try to wear looser shirts so your armpits can breathe.

MOD MOD MOD My arm pits have this grey stain/shadow, even when I wash them with soap, warm water, and they are really smooth (after shaving). but they still look grey. What can I do about this? I use Lady Speedstick and Suave deoderant if that helps. Having the shadow makes me unconfrotable with arm less clothes cause Im afraid people only look at the grey. How do I get ride of the grey??

Hey girly, mhmm I'm not sure what that gray stuff is. I reccommend you call up your doctor so they can check you out and see if it's something serious, although I don't think it is, get a check up just to be on the safe side.

I'm fifteen years old and lately I have noticed that when I wear skinny jeans, my formal dress for choir, and athletic shorts or pants I see some crease lines from my underwear and it is really embarrassing. I talked to my friend about it and she told me that her mom let her buy a few thongs to wear with those clothes. I thought that it was a great idea, but my parents think that thongs are trashy. They would immediately say no if I asked them and would then ask me if I was having sex (which i am not). How can I convince them that they should let me wear a thong with anything that shows crease lines?

hey girl! You can try talking to your mom first, and letting her know that you want a few just because of the lines. Explain to her that no one else is going to be seeing it, and you're not going to be getting crazy, provocative looking ones. You'll just be getting simple, plain ones to prevent those unwanted underwear lines. If you can convince her, chances are, it'll be a lot easier to get dad's permission. best, Kristen <3

There's nothing wrong. For both your probs, I'd talk to your doctor. He or she is an expert and will point you in the right direction. Ask your mom to set up an appointment and you'll get this squared away ASAP. Best,

MOD i have a weird problem. I haven't had my period yet, but my boobs started developing about 3 years ago. I've had ... hair ... for about two years. but no pit hair. i don't get it. is it one of those weird things that everyoen's liek "oh, everyone grows up at different rates!" or is it more of a disordr type of thing?

Hey chicky, you don't have anything to worry about. The body develops in small steps, so everything doesn't come in at the different times. Just remember things will happen when they are supposed to.

Hey gal, you have to decide if this guy is worth risking your friendship. Would you rather have a boyfriend or a bestfriend? And if you do decide to date this guy, how would that make your friend feel? How would you feel if your friend did that to you? Once you figure out the answers to these questions, you'll know what to do. Just remeber to follow your heart and use your head.

i have sweating issues 2 but i notice it is only when i wear certain shirts i avoid wearing them but when my mom ask i say i just 4got bout them and wore the pants i like 3 wear with them the other day she says ok and we move on is that i guess normal i mean only sweating with certain shirts ?

Yep, that's totally normal. different fabrics let air flow more or less which can cause you to sweat more if your skin can't breathe.

if you have pitstain problems all you have to do is bring a wet rag an dedorent to school an before second period put a wet rag on your pit wipe the pits real good an put deoderent on.

MOD MOD MOD i have a real bad prob with sweating. my underarms feet and hands sweat. i have to wash my hands every min. and sometimes when its real bad hold a towel. i have a real hard time holding a pen! my mom says that there is a surgery that i can take but it has some side effects like not sweating at all. some sweating is good! i am also too young. how can i stop sweating everywhere!

Hey girl! You should talk to a doc about your specific sitch. They will be able to tell you some different things to try to that might help stop the sweat!

Hey girl! You can try Head and Shoulders or a Pantene formula. Play around with some different ones and see what works best for you! And, hopefully, you just return to where you posted this question. That's how you find out our response!

i just started my period like, three month ago and it has started to calm down,
i still get sweaty when i am blushing but it is all good!
i dont think it is hyperhydosis but it is pretty bad.

Hey girly, there are skin creams and lotions that help reduce the look of stretch marks, but you should ask your doctor what to do. Your doctor knows your bod best and you don't want to put on anything that will irritate your skin. Twenty pounds is a lot to loose, so you want to take your time while loosing it. Start off by eating more healthy. Try fruits, veggies and nuts. Slurp on water, natural fruit juice and homemade smoothies. Then start exercising. Set aside two to three days per week for you to work out. You can do jumping jacks, sit ups, lunges or anything that gets you pumping. If you keep these healthy habits up, you'll start to notice some changes. Good luck girl!

Try using an exfoliating face wash on a regular basis. Also, make sure that you are wearing sunblock on a regular basis to avoid additional brown spots.

Hey babe, I'm not sure what's going on if you're not drinking caffeine. Try drinking warm milk and listening to slow music on your iPod to help you fall asleep, or read a book in bed to doze off. If this doesn't work, talk to your doc.

pit stains are awful. but i used to get them really bad but lately they've been better. Also, some tips are to 1. wear dark colors or white. pit stains don't show up as well on them. most stores have really cute white t-shirts with designs on them. 2. i like degree clinical strength. put it on before you go to bed and then it works really well the next day. reapply if yo uhave a sport or gym class

~i hope it helps because i know how awful pit stains can be, and it's a killer when you're trying to pick out shirts. but hang in there, cuz there are ways to make it better.

Hey girl, try putting your hair in pigtails for a cuter 'do or going for a low side ponytail. Both are sophisticated ways to update the look. On the field though? Wear your ponytail high and proud. It's about the game, and you don't want your hair getting in the way!

How often are you weighing yourself? It's not very healthy for you to be weighing yourself every day. Don't worry about the gummy bears, they won't make a difference! But try to eat only healthy foods when you're sick.
