It's going to take your friend a little while to get out of her rut. Talk to her. Let her vent to you about boy problems, family problems, school problems. Do things to relieve stress together like work out, listen to music, read, etc. Meet new guys - new crushes help people get over old flames. Your friend will snap out of it soon enough!

please help! i have this really close guy friend. We are like best friends and he just broke up with his girlfriend about a week ago. he called me to talk because he was upset. We were talking and he said he thoguth of me as just a friend but then put his arm around me. He gives me hugs all the time and puts his arms around my waist/ hips and around my shoulder. When he hugs me, its like a bf/ gf hug and his arms are like on my waist. I used to like him and would go out with him if he asked me. He tells me im just a friend yet shows lovey affection towards me! I dont know what to do! Help!

Theres this freshman who's only like a month younger than me (i'm a sophmore.)He's in one of my classes and he used to talk to me alot except i wasn't so nice to him cause he got on my nerves. Well one day he asked my friend why i was being such a and i told him to take it back. he said he would if i started being nice to him. a couple days later he came up to me and was like "i wont call you a anymore if you give me a hug. i told him no cause he should just apologize. well we stopped talking for like a week. until today (i'm sorry this is so long)he came up and put his arm around me and was like "how about i'll be nice to you if you're nice to me" and the conversation went on but all my friends think he likes me but i don't cause i see him flirting with (i think) other girls. could he like me? or is he just a flirt? thank you sooo much if you answer this!

This girl maria is fretting over the fact her friend is going out with a guy for the 3rd time.
Maria says that she doesn't want her to end up like her cousin who is a person you would she kissing too different guys in the same hour everyday. Then maria started going off about how this could lead to her friend to suicidde and she started talking about how she once started cutting her wrists before and is now over it. Also she said her friend should go out with this 8th grader who likes her.Maria is making me mad because, 1 I barely know her (she knows me cause of a friend of mine), 2 her friend is in 7th grade and her cousin is in highschool, 3 it is not her love life, 4 she thinks I should solve this stupid little problem of hers when I don't want to be involved with her at all. What should I do?

Hey girl, while Maria may be a bit out of line, some of the stuff she is saying is way serious. She's talking to you for a reason, girlie, and while you may not want to be involved in her probs, you should def help find someone who can help her. Cutting wrists is a big no-no and super dangerous. She needs to take to someone asap. Be a good friend and give a guidance counselor a heads-up. I know she may be annoying, but she needs someone -- don't be afraid to help her.

If your costume isn't too complicated you can bring it and change into it if other people are wearing their costumes, but the easiest thing to do is get someone to agree to do it with you. Ask around and see if anyone else in your class is going to but don't force your bff to wear a costume if she doesn't want to.

Hey girl! Even though that was her bf, it was a long time ago. It would prob have been best to let her know you liked him before you started dating, but I think she's overreacting a bit to not even talk to you. Maybe she does still like him, but it's really hard to say. Try seeing if you can get a chance to talk to her in person. If she totally ignores you, send her a text or a letter one day. Tell her you're sorry she feels like you took "her man," but that you thought it would be fine since it was such a long time ago. Girl, it's really hard to say. You don't want to overanalyze every little thing he does. Next time this happens, wave, smile, or say hi.
