Include her in some plans with new friends so she won’t feel left out. If she still overreacts, distance yourself from her controlling ways—and tell her why. No one should be limited to one friend.

My bestest friend came over last weekend and we were gonna do school togethor (we are both homeschooled). But she left her books at my house and she was sick on Wed so I couldn't gve them to her.. If she wants you, and only you, and you can't know anybody else, she's either jealous, or mean.

If she's mean, she's probably making people not like you because you feel pressured to talk to her, and not anyone, and she will eventually turn against you.
But the thing with advice columns is, we don't completely understand, we just try to walk in your shoes, just trying our hardest.

If she's jealous, she thinks you're cool, and thats nice! But you don't know. It's awkward, but you should ask her if there's a reason why she's this way. Here's a example:

You: Hey girly, ya know, I noticed you like to hang with me a lot. Is there a reason? I don't want to take you away from anybody, everybody needs more than one friend!

If she says something like are you angry or upset with her, say:

You: Of course not. I just don't want anybody else to think I'm pushy to make you my friend, or you to. Or anybody to think you're pushy, because neither of us are.

DEAR MOD HELP PLEASE! Ok. Today i found out my really good friend- Katy slapped my one friend Vivian. Katy also scratched her on the arm. I found this out today- when this happened yesterday at the table I WAS sitting at, at lunch. idk how i didnt see this. So katy got 3 lunch detentions- this is unlike Katy. I know this happened. So, before katy goes to lunch detention she goes " im not going to lunch" i go i heard"
you slapped vivan in the face? yeah. i said well you should have known that vivian would tell. I go its good you get a punishment so you can think 2 next time. So, Katy called me earlier and tells me that shes hurt i said that. and that Vivian called her names and was being rude. Again idk why i didnt see this if i was sitting at the table!!
Now, she says she confessed a sin at church, she got her phone taken away etc. She told me she was standing up for her self but yet i have called mean things and i dont stick up for my self by slapping someone. Its hard my mom says im a bad friend but yet my neighbor thinks im a good friend. Im not going to take sides. What she did was not to mention unacceptable? this is not my cat fight why do i have to be in it? What should i do call her? IDK what help!!!

If you're really not going to take sides you should let Vivian know that you don't approve of what she did either so Katy doesn't feel singled out. since you don't know the full story you can't know who was really right or wrong, but I think you're right to stay out of it and to warn your friends that this behavior could get them into real trouble. It might have been a little harsh to tell Katy that she deserved to get punished, even if you think that's true, so if you want to make her feel better you could call her and apologize for that but also be clear that you're not taking sides, especially since you didn't see how it went down.

Mod- My school is pretty cool ,but l8ly I've been noticing people making fun of other people for having super white skin. People yell at me all the time for for being "super white" I don't care a bit I never found this mean or offensive ,but some people I know get really offended/mad by it. I don't get the problem... Should the people talking about people having really white skin get in trouble?

Hey babe, the color of skin is one of those things that people have no control over and it's just something you're born with so anyone who makes fun of that is just ignorant and rude. Next time you hear someone making fun of someone just say something like, "Well, I think her skin is beautiful and it suits her perfectly." Stand up for yourself and others and that's all ya can do!

He might think that if he moves on with you because you know each other so well that that will help him get over her. I would stay out of it for a little while because you don't want to be the one who gets hurt in this situation. If he is not completely over your friend then just stay best friends with the guy.

This girl and I used to be super close! I have recently made some other friends who are sooo nice and I love to be around them. My prob is that my old friend won't leave me alone! She is always on my back- literally she walks so close she steps on my heels! Hey girl! Sounds like she's a clinger. Try gently explaining to her that you like her but you need to have time apart and that she doesn't have to do everything you do. Tell her you like her as an individual, not as a clone of you. If her behavior doesn't stop, then you might just have to break the friendship off.

Hey girl! I know there's been a lot of hype of swine flu, but keep in mind there are vaccines. They are hard to get, but if you want, you can ask your 'rents to try and get one for you. If you can't get one, you really shouldn't stress out too much about it. If you get it, chances are you'll be sick for a little while and then be totally fine. best, Kristen

Hey girl! Procrastination is when you put things off until the last minute. It's diff from the distractions that you're describing. I know it's frustrating, but try to find a quiet place to do your work. If you can lock yourself in your room, you might get the privacy you're looking for. When our whole class had to stand for recess, she didn't because our principal said (right in front of our faces!) that she was the best person in the class! When thet teachers pet friend went away for vaca. the girl who clings to her was so funa and cool. But the clingy girl is totally not awesome when she clings to the teachers pet! She won't even let me talk to the teachers pet! Then, my other friend is rich, she always brags about being rich and calls me poor. Btw, we're all in a group so it's not like I can get rid of one. Hey gal, we can't change other people we can only work on ourselves. But try talking to the girls and telling them about their behavior. Tell the teacher's pet how annoying it is that she acts like a know-it-all. And tell the rich girl it annoying when she brags all the time. Communication is key.

MODMODMODMODMOD!!!! I have a problem! I like to awesome guys! We all hang out in a group and I danced with one at the dance(we'll call him Bob)! It was amazing! But the other was not there(call him Joe). Bob is always like telling me I'm amazing and flattery like that. But it can get a little awkward, plus he's a grade below me, which doesn't bug me to much,but still that makes it a little awkward! We danced and it was amazing,but i still really like Joe. Joe is really funny and we're always laughing when were together. Which is what i love! I don't know who I like more! Bob, who is younger can be really sweet but moves too fast for me! And I've told him that but he's still eager to move! Help! I feel like I shouldn't be telling Bob I like him (he also knows i like Joe) but i don't know who I like more! Also, last night after trick or treating we were at my bff's house and all out on the trampoline and "star gazed" and me and Joe were like laying next to each other and he kept stealing my blanket and using it too! It was reall cute, but I think I really made Bob hurt... He really likes me and I like him too but also Joe. I've known Joe since last year and like just met Bob about a week and a half ago. Plz help! I really don't wanna hurt anyone or myself! But I know if I choose one I might hurt the other, but they will be happy for me! Hey chica, mhmm this is a toughie. There are two possible solutions. Spend a little more time with each and decide who you picture yourself with more. Hey babe, it could just be changing hormones. Try keeping fruit around so you can munch on an apple when you're hungry! Running steps helps legs, also squats and lunges are good. I would talk to a doc about a colon cleanse, I don't know much about it. For scars, try getting one of those scar creams or patches at a drug store, or ask a dermatologist.

well just got finished handing out candy
it's a shame people can't even say thanks anymore and most of the kids were older tween and teens who were very rude, still have some candy left going to eat it myself , i can't believe 15-16 trick or treat and can't even say thanks. tons of random people who didn't even live at my neighborhood decided to show up so when 15 people were walking down my driveway who i didn't even know, my bro and i made a run for it inside my house.
