So, my friend, Rita, is fifteen and a freshman. She's dating this sophmore, BJ, who is sixteen and incredibly sweet. He's given her flowers when she was sick, and sends her the sweetest texts imaginable. They've been dating for over two months now, and she really likes him. But then there's Nick. Nick is, in Rita's words(I've never met him, or BJ because I live in a different state *sob*)sweet, cute, and a senior. As in, he's graduating at the end of this school year. Rita is torn between the two of them. She asked Nick if he wanted to have a serious relationship with her, a freshman, and he said yes, but she has a bf, and he wasn't sure if she wanted to go out with him because he's so much older. Rita really needs to figure out what to do, cuz she feels that she's not being fair to BJ. I think that she should choose, I'm just not sure how or who. She doesn't want to hurt either of them. Rita is such a nice, beautiful, sweet, happy girl. I'd hate for her to be hurt again, and I don't want her to hurt these guys either. (she went through an awful breakup earlier this year)Not that she'd do that intentionaly, because she isn't like that. She's my best friend and I want whats best for her. Hey Girls! First of all, you want to make sure you are totally open and honest with BJ. It is unfair to him if Rita is having feelings for Nick and he does not know. She needs to choose because it's not fair to either guy! Sometimes it's tough to date a guy that's a few years older than you, especially in high school! The gap from the freshman to a senior is pretty big too! A freshman just graduated from middle school, and a senior is getting ready to go off to college! You may have more in common with someone who is closer in age!

Follow your heart and do whatever is best for you! Just make sure you don't hurt anyone's feelings by keeping your feelings a secret! Good luck!

My best friend is OBSESSED with her crush. He's all she cares about, all she talks about. The worst part? He doesn't like her - he likes her friend. She's devastated about that, but she says she's too "in love" with him to stop liking him. I think it's pretty ridiculous, especially since we're only 13 and he doesn't even treat her that well. I told her that she really should move on, but she's "too in love." Should I just give her some space and spend some time with my other friends until she gets over it? (PS: She told me that one day, she went home and threw up because watching him flirt with her other friend made her so sad that it made her sick!) What should I do?!

Please help! I like this guy but he is older. Im 14(freshman) and he is 16(junior). He drives and he plays sports and stuff like me. But my parents dont let me date but i still do but i am very careful who i go out with. Hey girl, going out means being in a relationship with someone. You go out with your friend. It's basically interchangeable with dating, actually. They do mean essentially the same thing. Your second Q? I know it's hard, girl, but you should let go of him for now. He's in a relationship. You shouldn't want it to fall apart -- he's happy and off limits. There's tons of other fish in the sea though, so no worries. Let things run their natural course. You're meant to be friends with now. Let it go at that.

Your bf should understand that. It sounds like your ex is trying to come between you and your new guy. He might have a good point about giving your bf a little more attention, even though your family is going through something big right now though. Give your bf a call to let him know you appreciate him being patient with you. Hey girl! The law really depends on your state, but a lot of times as long as he's under 18, it's ok. It's when he turns 18 and you aren't 16 that there could be a problem, but as long as he isn't pressuring you to do anything you don't want to do, then it's ok. If he respects you and genuinely likes you, then there is no problem with dating an older guy. Just make sure your parents know and see what they have to say.
