Right now, we’re lovin’ the drama of ultra-dark shades.
 
From midnight nails to jet lashes, these inky hues are perf for nights when you wanna go for full-on glamour.

Don’t be tricked: This liner looks pure black, but goes on a li’l purple (not to mention shimmery). Rim your lids and then smudge it with a Q-tip for our fave noir eye of the moment.

Don’t wanna go all-out black on your eyes? Shades of gray are flattering on everyone and way hot this fall. Add black mascara and bat those lashes, babe!


Black Licorice Duo Eye Shadow Cream, $1, eyeslipsface.com

Black tips are tops. Splash ebony polish on short nails and finish with a matte or shiny top coat, depending on  how ya feel. A layer of silver glitter looks awesome, too.



Confession: We just can’t get into the Sharpie-black lip trend. Instead, we’re smitten with Clinique’s Black Honey gloss. It works with all skin tones (seriously!) and just dabbles on the dark side.

Gilt your lashes with a bit of glitter. Pass on regular mascara for a minute, and try a starry one instead. Sparkly mascara looks amazing with pewter shadow and natural lips.

hey girl!  Since you're just starting out, I'd def keep it natural and light. A little concealer on pimples or red spots, with some brown mascara, and a pretty pink lip gloss would be a good start.  I really like Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation because it's light, and you can't even feel it.  As for mascara, ask around.  Diff brands are good for diff gals.  I also like Burt's Bees lip gloss and chapstick because it's natural and works really well. Hey babe, don't put on too much but swirl your brush around and then tap it on the side of the lid. I apply mine on the outsides on my cheeks and forehead, which always looks good. Be sure to blend well!

Hey girl, try reapplying it after sports practice. There's really no way to keep it there and fresh for good without reapplying. You shouldn't put that much on either. Don't want to coat your lengths and waste too much of tube too fast.

Hey Mod, How was your Halloween? Well I have a problem. (i know, shocking) My boyfriend was super amazing, like perfect boyfriend on homecoming 2 weeks ago. Which also happens to be the day I got my first kiss. I gave him my cell number that night. He'd already called my house number b4, so he should know my number. Apparently his phone broke, which I found when I went to his game. He let me kiss him on the cheek, but on Saturday he was ok when we were alone, but when we weren't he was totally ignoring me. Once my hand accidently brushed his knee, and he was like Don't touch me! And on homecoming when we were dancing he was like I feel like this was meant to be. I gave him my number again when we were alone, cuz he didn't have it now that his phone broke, but its been over a week and no phone call. At all. and he doesn't go to my school, which makes it worse. I'm mad and upset and really miss him. And this is our 2nd time going out. How can it go from this was meant to be, to dont touch me? So sorry this is so long.

Ok so for halloween i'm being the lion from the wizard of oz. Its this really cute brown dress with chocolate colored fur trim, has a hood with little ears, and the skirt is pleated with a little tail and it comes with this medal thing that says "courage". what type of makeup should i wear? and should i draw a nose and whiskers on my face? if i draw the whiskers and nose, what should i use to draw it with?




Hey babe! At halloween stores they have face paint made especially for drawing on face skin, so it won't irritate you or cause a rash!

My mom wants me 2 go trick or treating w/ her and my 2 lil sisters b-cuz she hasnt been able 2 go w/ us 4 the past 2 years but I'm not sure that I want to go b-cuz im getting too old and I would have no fun, but if I dont go i will break her heart and my friend invited me 2 her church halloween party (AT THE SAME TIME) but she can b very boring so i dont know if i would have fun at that either!!!

Hey girl! You can decide what you want to do, you can always do a little of each. I am sure that if you tell your mom that you are to old for haloween, she will understand. But you should include her in some way for halloween.

I love all of these! I got a sample of the black honey lipstick in a magazine... and it was perfect! the only problem is that i can't buy the full size, because i always get Avon, Wet 'n' Wild, and N.Y.C cosmetics,and so my mom and i dont have enough money (she's a rep., and so shes buys a lot too!) these are all amazing, and since i looove black and purple, i wanna try the eyeliner the most! is this getting long? sorry!

So, I'm going to ] on a field trip Monday. The problem is, We got the bunk lists today and my bunk have my besties, and the people who we hate and they hate us. Out teacher says we can't switch. We won't be able to talk at all, because we won't want the others to hear. And this way, I may not get a top bunk, and I'm terrified and my allergies get set off by bottom bunk. What do I do? (I want to split the room in half with duct tape but I can't) I don't want to go, if it means bunking with her, but my mom's making me...




Hey babe, I would talk to the girls in your room about needing the top bunk for medical reasons. They should understand. Also, just try to ignore the other girls if they're giving you are hard time but you shouldn't even worry about them and just enjoy having a good time with your friends. Who knows, maybe this will even be a chance to settle your problems with these girls!

hey mod,
I'm getting really mixed signals over this guy in my art class. In the first few weeks of school he sat right across from me and whenever I would look up at him he would be looking at me and vice versa. Both of us would look away embarrassed Smile. Now he sits two tables away diagonally and I always catch him looking at me. Also at breakfast it's pretty much 'free time'. You can go into one of the gyms, eat breakfast, stand in the huge hall and talk, go to library, or go to practice your instrument in the practice rooms. I usually eat and then go practice my violin and whenever I sit down he always sits where he can see me and I can see him. We kind of glance at one another every once and awhile. He's a skater type and there are 'skater girls' (the skate park is a block away from my school) and at lunch he sits with like 4 girls. I'm not sure if he's going out with any of them though! I'm so confused! I'm afraid to talk to him because he has a lot of guy friends that he sits by at lunch, breakfast, and in art. What can I do?

Hey girl, I know it may be hard but the only way to even think of having a relationship with this guy is to talk to him. Introduce yourself. Ask him about your art class since you're both in it together. Don't be nervous. You can't have anything if you don't take that first step. Good luck!

OK-so i have been friends with these 4 girls since 3rd grade. we're in 8th now. the problem is that they are super immature. an i mean super. like they poke eachother at the lunch table and refuse to wear bras-though they really need to. i am pretty mature, so i try to stop them from playing childish games that attract negative attention to our table while in the cafeteria and have a nice conversation-but they always start poking eachother or something again. there is another group of girls who are more like me and i am closer with now who have invited me to sit with them. i would love to-but i don't want to be a "traitor" to the old group. there used to be another girl who sat with us and moved tables and now they call her a traitor. i dont want them to think of me that way-but i want to switch tables at lunch. also, i dont want to completely lose them as friends.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




Hey girl, I know it may be hard, but if you want to make friends with other people, don't be afraid to take turns and sit at two different tables. For example, sit at your new friend's table one day and theirs the next. They can't call you a traitor if you're still with 'em.
