Healthy Habits Rock

Let’s get one thing straight: The goal of working out and eating right is not to turn yourself into a scary stick.

But study after study proves girls feel better about themselves if they exercise regularly (anything from team sports to fun runs to dancing around your room for 20 minutes) and eat a balanced diet (that means all the food groups).

My body image changes as fast as my body morphs! Some days, I say, “I’m looking so good right now.” Other days, I say, “Molly, you should really tone up that tummy!” After I’ve exercised, I automatically feel better. I recommend this to everyone. It makes you feel refreshed, healthy and energetic. —Molly F., 13

I play soccer 24/7 and while other people snack on potato chips, I munch on fruit. To feel great just eat healthy and stay active. —Hanna S., 13

I eat lots of fruit (yum!), plenty of protein and not as many sugars. Another great confidence builder? Play outside more and do well in school. —Marissa L., 12

Snacking really packed the pounds on me, so I came up with a solution. Every time I want a candy bar, I chew gum instead. Not Bubblicious or Hubba Bubba but sugar-free stuff like Trident. And thank God for my dogs because  I can torture them into going for a long run with me every day.  —Christy, 11

Hey girls!
I am looking for a personal trainer who could help me out tons with my bod! I really want to target my abs and INNER thighs, and also maybe my calves, mid thighs, and arms. AND MY BUTT!
I am fairly athletic: dancing for over 12 years now! I love to ride my bike when the weather isn’t too bad.
I also love to jog, but it kills my lungs: I always get so out of breath! I’m kind of chubby but I want to be skinnier than what I am now!

*IMPORTANT*I don’t really like healthy foods like fruits, veggies and fish (but I do like bananas and pears)!*

If you wanna be my trainer, answer the questions below on my profile. THANKS!

1) What's your name, and age? (if you don’t mind me asking!)

2) Any workout ideas to help me tone my INNER thighs greatly? What about my butt?

3) What are some fast, effective ab workouts to tone my belly flab?

4) Are you athletic/ What sports do you play?

5) What is your daily exercise routine?

6) What are some good, healthy foods besides the same old fruits and veggies?

7) I can never seem to stop eating (haha). Any ideas how?

8) Do you know facts about burning calories and all those calculations?

9) Any other cardio exercises?

10) Anything else you want to add, add it here, thanks!

11) Do you come online GL often/how frequent??

Two things, what does MOD mean? And, I constantly have unhealthy food cravings, how do I get rid of them? Oh ya one more thing, how do I trim my tummy?

Hey girlfriend, MOD is short for Moderator. And moderators approve and delete comments and help girlies like you with any questions or comments they may have. I love junk food too! But there are some tasty healthy snacks out there too. Smoothies are my fave. Grab all the fruit in your house, throw them into the blender and make your own drink. You could make a strawberry, banana blueberry drink or an orange mango drink. You can get totally creative. You can also munch on granola bars and fruit salads. Doing sit ups, push ups and crunches help tone tummies. But if you start eating healthy, that tummy fat will melt away! Smile

Mod!!
i have a problem....i want to eat healthy and I try but its difficult. It seems like Im eating a piece of candy everyday, but I can't help it. Do you recommend any foods that are healthy, but taste good too?

Hey girl! One piece of candy a day isn't going to hurt you. Some healthy foods that taste good too include peanut butter, yogurt, hummus and veggies, a little bit of cheese... healthy doesn't just mean fruits and veggies. Anything whole wheat is good for you too! Check out our G-Life section for some yummy recipes.

xoxo
