Do This Today!

YOUR DAILY MOTIVATOR

Help the homeless this season! We know you’ve got some old winter coats sitting around the house along with those mittens that are too small. Donate it to a homeless shelter and make someone’s winter season a little warmer.

You can also donate non-perishable food items to charities and shelters. Pitching will make you feel better, and give you perspective on your life. Not to mention all the good you’re gonna do for the folks around you. ~G-Life Ladies

MOD hello!im a rlly quiet person and whenever i get sat next to someone in school it gets sorta awkward cuz we never talk and its even worst when i sit next to a guy. so today in math, our teacher switched us around and sat me next to this guy. its not that i like like him or anything, but i just dont wanna be mute again and dont want it to end with him sayin 'yes!' when our teacher tells us we are switchin seats again like it usually does. i never no what to say and i dont want to be snobby or anything,i just dont want it to be..silent again like it was today. what should i do?

Hey chica, you can start by introducing yourself and asking them about themselves. Ask them how their year is going so far and what they think about the class. Whenever you have a brain fart and can't think of anything to sya, think about things you'd want someone to ask you. Hope this helps! Smile

*MOD* Thank you! Another Q: Do you know any good books?
Also, I'm having a hard time right know, because I'm just starting high school and they want us to start thinking about what we want to be when we're older. I really want to be an actress, singer or model! People tell me all the time I can be a model, I can sing pretty well, and I've been acting for a few years now. I know they're big dreams but I don't think any other occupation suits me! I mean my uncle has a restaraunt and I can work there for a few years but it's not really what I want to do with my life... what can I do?

Hey girl, there are tons of careers out there. Why not think about broadcast journalism (reading the news on TV!) or maybe advertising. What do you like to do? Do you like writing? Are you totes into creative projects? There are tons of careers out there. It's just about exploring your interests which is what high school is all about. Get involved with different activities and see which you like best. As for books? I love American classics. Try reading The Great Gatsby: the ultimate classic!

*MOD* A few questions for you:
One, I really want to improve my upper-body strenght but I HATE lifting weights, so I was thinking doing push-ups every day. How many do you think I should do every day to improve?
Two, I heard that CoverGirl Exact Eyelights eyeliner, shadow & mascara are really nice, do you think they're worth it?
Three, my hair is straight and I don't know what to do with it in the mornings. I need a new hairstyle! What can I do?
Lastly, whenever I'm about to get my period I get REALLY sick. About a week before I got my last period I came home 3 times in a matter of a week because I had really bad migranes, and when I get them my eyes get this blurry spot and I can't see! Why do I always get sick?
Sorry it was so long!

Hey girl, it's hard to say how many, but I'd suggest working up and doing as many as you can. I'm by no means an expert though, so I'd say use your sources. Talk to your gym teacher or a trainer at your gym. Everyone's body is different, and there's a diff magic number for everyone. I'd also suggest in general jogging. It totally tones your body and gets your heart racing. It's my fave exercise. As for Q2, I think you should try and find out. I haven't used them, but they sound like they're a good investment! If you don't like 'em, you can just try a new brand next time. Q3? Why not try sleeping in curlers over night? Spray in the morning and you've got a way cute contrast. And your final question: my sis totes goes through the same thing. Unfortunately it's all a part of PMS and it's something you can't control. What you can do though? Talk to your 'rents and a doc. You can def take medication like Advil for the migranes, but it's def important you talk to an adult about whether you really need it. I know it may be hard, but sadly, it's something you've more or less gotta rough out and just know it's not your fault. It's all hormones.

that rocks, if we can get everyone to do something we would make a BIG difference!!!!!! i kinda stinks that i just blanked out on the due date for our njhs community shelter field trip. i could have gone to the homeless shelter and helped sort clothes, fedd groups, and find new foods!
