What should I do?

If you’re going a lot and it burns, you might have a urinary tract infection (UTI). The urinary tract is the pathway for pee to get out. If bacteria gets in there, it hurts. It’s very common, but left untreated can lead to a dangerous kidney infection. So tell your mom to call a doctor as soon as possible.

Meantime, take an over-the-counter medication called Cystex (find it at drugstore.com), drink lots of water, and try unsweetened cranberry juice, says Dr. Larrian Gillespie, a uro-gynecologist in Los Angeles.

My mom said that since she was 11 when she started her period and I am 10 and a half I should have pads perpared in my locker. Plus, I have lots of hair 'down there', tender breats, discharge, and mini cramps (although I am never going to have hair in the pits because my mom and grandma said they had only about ten hairs in their pits in their whole life and they fell out). My mom knows I have these signs too, and is basically FORCING me to put pads in my locker. I didn't want to because I had a locker partner though! I know that I should probably put pads in my locker (oh look, I'm having a cramp as I'm typing these words) but I don't want to! Any tips? P.S. I am in 5th grade so I don't switch classes (if that helps).

A while ago maybe last year I had this same problem I went to the doctor and they said I might have diabetes but since I had just eaten the peppermint they had in the waiting room they couldn't test my suger. Now (a year later) my mom and I are 100% sure I don't have diabetes.

Mod!! My bff let's call her Jane, came to school today wearing mascara. It was obviously wayy to much but i didnt tell her to avoid hurting her feelings. It was also like when she out on her mascara that morning, she put on a mean attitude as well. I mean my other bff, was talking to her at her locker today and jane just walked away from her in mid conversation. I asked what the special occasion was because of the make up and she snarled at me, "WHAT?!? you haven't seen a girl wear make up before?" I was startled. Plus, today at play rehearsal, she sat with these other snobby girls who also wore the same make up as her and not with me and my other bffs like she used to. I don't know what to do. There's this group of guys who are popular 'nerds' I guess, and they have a reputation for placing girls in the middle of bets. Such as, once, a guy bet $50 that he could get every girl in his 3rd period to go out with him.
I have friends in that group, and today, one of them asked me out. I'm not allowed to date anyway, but I was wondering if I was part of a bet.

Hey girl! Forget boys! Forget what your friend said. Try to comfort her, but let her know you could have used her support the other day when she said your crush wasn't going to ask you. Make a pact not to treat eachother like that and never let guys come between you.

Mod! 1) I am sooooooo scared to try a tampon! I don't really no where I should 'aim' it. I scared that it will feel weird and my mom says that tampons feel much better than pads! Is that true? Hey girl! Tampons do feel much better than pads. When you put them in right, you can't even feel them. It's normal to feel scared about it, but just relax, and you'll be fine. It should go in right under your body. Follow instructions onthe box or even ask your mom for tips. If you want to shave, just explain to your mom how you feel. My friend told me that she had the same problem but it went away when she wore thongs with those jeans. I think it will help, but my parents think that thongs are trashy and will assume that i am having sex. How can I convince them to let me buy a few thongs just for a better fit with my skinny jeans?

hey girl! I already responded to this questions, so look around for my earlier answer. I think you should try talking to your mom first. If you can convince her, it'll be easier to get dad to say okay too. Try explaining to her that you're not getting it to be provocative, just to get rid of those underwear lines. MOD: i have a boyfriend of one month who i really like alot. I'm happy with him, and was thrilled when he asked me out. the only issue is that he's bisexual, and addmitted to being with other guys before. Hey girly, if things continue to go good, I think you should stay with him. Just because he's been with guys before doesn't mean he'll go back to them. But just to be on the safe side, I think you should talk to him. Ask him if he still feels the same way about guys and where he sees your relationship going. Because when it comes down to it, you can't really compete with another guy.

Just wanted to say, the same thing was happening to me. I told my mom, went to the docter, took some medicine, and now I'm fine. Just a tip, drink alot of water! It actually helps, even if it hurts peeing it out. It flushes out the bacteria that is causing you pain. Just wanted to tell ya!

sorry that happens to you thats kind of ironic because i was home all week with that kind of pain. a great over the counter medication is uristat. you can also get a home test at CVS called AZO standard. i will tell you if it's just symtoms of a UTI or a legit infection. I SWEAR BY CRANBERRY JUICE also don't eat chocolate or drink soda or take bubble baths. hope it clears up!

Hey mod! I have this pain in my big toe joint and the bone behind it and it hurts mainly when i excersize. It started hurting when i was playing tennis. Mom says it could be a stress fracture but what does it take to even get one?

Hey gal, stress fractures usually develop from overuse of a muscle like in sports. Sounds like all the tennis and exercise have worn down on your foot. Head to the doctors to make sure you don't have any cuts or fractures in your foot.

If you get a urinary infection you should tell your mom because they probably went through the same thing. People think you only get infections down there when you are having sex but until you get one and you arent you wont know.

At one of our sleepovers we talked about this and one of my friends who is having sex with her bf has gotten a few of them and another friend who hasnt started having sex yet gets them all the time. So it doesnt matter, anyone can get them and they can lead to serious kidney problems so its best to see a doctor about it.

So Im like tall Like REALLY tall like 5foot10inches and Im 13 yearsold tall. I fit into my dads basketball shoes from when he played college and hes 6foot4inches and Im supposed to be 6feet-6feet2inches tall. Everyones always telling me how I should play volleyball or basketball. Personally I hate both of them. And yes Ive given both of them a try but I REEAALLY dont like either of them. The thing is my dad played basketball for IndianaUniversity when he was in colege and also played Varsity Volleyball. So he keeps trying to get me to play but I really dont want to and ive told him that. I just want to play soccer and run track and I play goalkeeper in soccer so i use my hieght to my advantage there but I feel like im disapointing my dad by not playing basketball or volleyball. Do you know anyway i could feel less bad or try to please my dad?

Well, if your mom went to the same camp then just start talking to her about her experience. You could start by saying something like, "Hey mom, you'll never believe this, but Kristine (my bff, but insert yours) asked me to go to that same summer camp you went to." This will show your mom that you're really excited about it and it will also force her to remember how she went, so she will be more likely to let you go. Good luck, I hope this helps!

I had the infection on and off but its not effecting me anymore. You just need to pee small amounts but i think thats normal. You need to pee alot in a day not just twice my moms a nurse and thank the lord i can tell it to you guys. ^_^ but yes its still much better to telll a docter.

I had infections ever since i was five you can ethier have a bladder pill,but i think lots of water and cranberry juice is more affective. If you notice blood in the toliet tell your mom immdeiatly i got sick 3 months after that. It felt as if i had a flu bug. You will start maybe with chills,headache,or just feeling icky or nausua vomiting.
