Take the G-Life Turkey Day Challenge!

 
Hey, girlies! Here at G-Life, we’re all about pushing the fitness limits (buh-bye, easy workouts!).
 
That’s why we’re holding our first-ever Thanksgiving challenge. Sure, it can be tough to get in exercise on such a busy holiday, but why not give it a try?

Here’s the deal:
On Thanksgiving day set aside 30 minutes for exercise. It doesn’t have to be super-intense, but you should def break a sweat. When you get a sec, come over to G-Life on girlslife.com and leave a comment on the Thanksgiving post, sharing your workout with the other girls. On Friday morning, we’ll pick one chica at random and she’ll get hooked up with a Pulse Yoga Basic DVD!

Swam across a pool thhe long way 21 laps for 45 minutes.

did a mix of core workouts(planks, crunches, etc.) for 15 min and than joged for 12 min. straight and than cooled down with some walking for about 5 min.

I walked 4 large far-apart cul-de-sacs, (uphill, flat, downhill, a mix) for 10-15 min
30 min. of rockin it out to some upbeat tunes
then another walk around two cul-de-sacs close together flat cul-de-sacs for 5-15 min
and i'm gonna go back out to walk some more soon! Laughing

20 mins. of running
Yoga(downward dog, cobra and tree)(5 mins.)
Strength (push-ups, side-planks) (5 mins.)
And sit-ups (20)

im on board! hay girls i need some help to im al for getting healthy and working out but it seem like right after that we have this big unhealthy dinner or my mom buys a bug bag of oreos any ideas for staying on trck! i would soo appriciate it

Im definitely doing this! And while we're on the subject...
I started using this website called mapmyrun.com and its really cool. You type in your neighborhood and map out your run and it tells you how far it is, how many calories you burn, your pace, ect. you can also sign up (free) and you can track your workouts and a lot more including how many glasses of water you drink and how well you sleep. They also have challenges you can sign up for and they track your progress. right now im doing the "walk a marathon in 30 days" challenge and im almost done. i definitely know that if i hadn't signed up for it i wouldn't have gotten up off my lazy butt a lot of the time. just make sure you set your profile to private so no one can see your info or anything, and i usually map my run before logging in so my username isn't associated with that route. i am a big worrier, i know. anyway, its really cool and you should try it!

Hey! You may know me as the vegetarian girl. I just want to say that I am not forcing anyone to go vegetarian and I am not bashing meat eaters. I just want to provide facts and give you the option to have the benefits of vegetarianism. I'm sick of getting rude comments from people that don't know better! But, thank you for all of you who support me and leave me good comments or questions or asking for advice.

All of my mom's side of the family go to my grandma's for Thanksgiving and she feeds us all sorts of fatty foods. But my parents always manage to exercise when they're at her house, so I'll join them! Smile

can SO do this. every thanksgiving our family does the turkey trot, which is basically a mile and a half run around our town. i'll run it with my mom! it'll be bomb digg!

How can I exercise on Thanksgiving day? I'm gonna have a LONG car trip the day before, be in a hotel the next morning, have a thanksgiving meal at 4, and another LONG car ride the next day. Any ideas?




Hey babe, there's not much you can do when driving but check and see if the hotel has a gym or get up early to run for a bit. it's ok to take off a day or two every once and a while, too!
