My Chest is SO Flat!

I'm turning 13 in April and I don't have boobs. I'm kinda short but people even shorter than me have boobs. I feel like I need them. The sixth graders even have boobs and I don't. How can I help that?

Girl, you’re not alone. This is a totally common concern. I worried about it too when I was in middle school. I didn’t have boobs at 13, but I knew that I was still developing and maturing. Instead of getting down about my smaller chest, I focused on some of my better physical qualities. I worked it with my award-winning smile and killer confidence. There are many pretty models that don’t have boobs and they work with what they have and look amazing doing it.

Don’t let your bra size define who you are! But, if a flat-chest is really getting you flustered, go out and find a padded bra that will make you feel more comfortable. It’ll give your boobs...AND your confidence a li'l boost. But remember to flaunt your pretty face and bright smile, too!

And don’t forget to take a look at your other female fam members. Genetics plays a big part in whether you’re just a late bloomer AND what cup size you’ll eventually have. Asking your mom when she developed her boobs not only will it give you some insight but it may also give you some peace of mind.

my story is similar to this --EXCEPT that some people at school call me flat AND FAT. i am social and alot of people know. i know im not that big and i try to be confident and love myself. i starting to believe it.
its really getting to me but i try not to show it.

Everyone has issues like this. Everyone is insecure about some part of their body. But just focus on the parts you love and youll feel better. Also if you want to feel even more confident you could try to work out and improve your body image. Exercising releases endorphins that make us feel good so try it and youll feel better. don't sweat it girl!!! they'll grow soon enough. hey at least you don't have to wear a 34C bra when ur in 6th grade!
oh! and remember that even if you don't end up with big boobs like models in ads, you are still beautiful and don't let anyone tell u ur not.

MOD MOD MOD just wondering, i'm run cross country so i run like 5 miles every day, does that mean my boobs will be smaller? like i know being really active makes them grow slower, but will they end up smaller than they would otherwise? thanksss

Hey girly! It's great that you're so active! Running, by itself, will not cause your breasts to grow smaller. However when you lose weight, generally your size will decrease. So that might have something to do with how this old wives tale got started. On the other hand, your chest size does fluctuate when you gain or lose weight.

i think i just got my period and i really want to tell my mom plus i got it like a week or so ago and well i never get any free time to tell her. she is always with my older brother or younger brother who like to hear everything i say. do you think a note would be good? also my mom has pads but they are really thin like for discharge and the other pads are super big and i dont want to try tampons until my period anniversary. should i buy them myself? how could i tell my mom?

Hey babes, there is nothign wrong but sometimes girls just have small boobs. You cant make them grow. Maybe they will grow a little more after you get your period. You can always wear padded bras. Look at your mother and grandmothers, how big you will be is usually somewhere between all of them. xo JANA

Hey girl, I've heard that caffenine can stunt growth overall, but I haven't heard anything about it specifically stunting growth of your boobs.

Hey girl, nope that's not weird at all. Everyone is different and everyone's body is different too. Chances are that your body is going through these changes, but they just aren't visible to you yet. Other girls in my class are just as flat but they dont look like that! I'm starting to wonder if its all just in my head, and if people dont even notice it........

K, i was wondering if this is normal, and sorry if this is kinda a weird question. Whenever I try to wear a plain shirt (like one without any design or logo in the chest area) you can always see where my boobs are! It's sorta like bumped up in the area. Since i dont really have that much going on there yet, i feel like it's totally noticeable to others and I refrain from wearing some really cute shirts because of this! Even with a bra on, it's still there! Is it normal? Is it really as noticable as i think it is? Is it a big deal? What do I do? HELP! Thanks!

So I am 13 almost 14 and wear a 32A and i I have not grown a cup size in over a year, and I read a comment saying it runs through genetics well the prob. is my mom is a DD cup and got her chest a 10 years old ( not all of it but strated to grow) and my sis is a C cup and 16 and got hers when she was 11 but i am still 13 and 32A HELPP!

Hey missy, well you still are a little girl. You don't have to pay bills, your parents take care of you and you get to have fun all the time, so no worries about your bod. A part of growing up is having your bod change so look at it as a good thing. You're developing into a young lady.

MOD!!! So, my breasts are beginning to develop (ok, more like they began ages ago) but I don't want them to! I feel so uncomfortable with their size it's like I have to cross my arms over them every two minutes. I can't wear any good shirts cuz they'd well....show! I wear a bra but seirously! Hey chica! Body changes can be scary and make you feel awkward in the beginning. But you should embrace your curves! When you go shopping, make sure that you try the clothes on so you can be sure that your comfortable. Layering with pieces like t- shirts and cardigans will make them less noticeable and you won't have to cross your arms over your chest. Be sure to stay away from low cut and tight- fitting shirts. Also, ask your mom or a female family member to take you to the mall for a bra fitting so that you can find a bra that is comfortable and supportive.

I soo get where you're coming from. I'm 14 and I'm a 36D. When I was your age I was super flat-no curves or anything-and I didn't fit into a bra. I got all the comments and insults from the guys and girls but whenever they say it just do what I did, I'd think to myself

I AM CRISTAL ROSE,I AM 12 YEARS OLD,I'M FLAT-CHESTED AND I REALLY DON'T CARE.

Honey, I'm almost 14, and a 32AA or 30 full A cup, it suck 'cuz all my girl friends have boobs but i'm tiny so i deal. I'm only 4'10 and about 70 pounds. If you want a padded bra check out Target or the Victoria Secret 'Victoria' line. they're very petite. If you really want a boost try a 'Very Sexy' Push-up in 32AA.

Hey chica, no it's not weird. The arrival of periods can be crazy so it's hard to tell when exactly it will come. Sometimes it depends on genes, other times it just comes randomly. But it all has to do with your bod, so when the time is right you'll get your period.

Hey girlfriend, this just means they're growing. When your breast are developing they tend to be a little tender because they haven't reached their full size yet, so no worries.

Hey girl! Breasts are often made up of a little more fat than other parts of the body so if you're super skinny, chances are that's why. You're young though, so I bet you grow soon! Try to be patient!

Hey girl, your question about drinks is it's fine. Just be sure to have that soda in moderation. Also be sure to drink water too! As for your friend's? There's none I know of, but some colors will give your lips the allusion of looking thinner. Chances are her lips are fine though. Just don't buy lipglosses with plumpers.

Boobs will come when they do. Some girls bloom earlyy. Everyone will enentually. focus on your positives that your friends and family see, not those jerks at school.
