Jump for Joy!

 
This week, consider jump-starting your workout. Jumping is an easy and fun way to amp up the usual drill. Skipping rope is a fab cardio workout, but here are some other ideas...

Jump on and off your mom’s old aerobics step. Try diff tricks (like hopping on one leg) and work at it for 10-15 minutes.
 
Set up old-school hopscotch in the driveway. Go to it!
 
Call up a couple of friends and learn to double dutch.
 
Pretend jump rope. It’ll look goofy, but you can zap just as many cals and not worry about breaking anything.
 
Create an obstacle course in  your yard, using athletic cones or boxes. Jump over them, run around and get a great workout.
 
So hop to it, girl!
