7 reasons going to prom with your girls totally rocks

Scoring a date to your school’s spring dance is awesome, true, but there is quite possibly nothing more fun than boogying the night away with your besties. We’ve got 10 reasons why heading to prom (or any dance, really) with your girls in tow totally rocks.

How do I look? Fab, of course. But the best part is that it’s totally up to you. The color of your dress doesn’t need to match his vest and the height of your heels doesn’t depend on his stature. Bring on the stilettos.

Silly pictures. Forget those cheesy prom poses. Funny faces, leaps into the air, your best dance moves—we’re capturing them all on camera.

Open dance card. Got your eye on a few good-looking guys? When the inevitable slow dances are played, you’re not limited to just one guy. Grab a dance with your BGF, your older bro, your cousin, your crush—whomever you want!

Inside jokes. You know that moment when someone says something totally normal, but you catch your bestie’s eye and can’t keep the giggles at bay? We live for those moments!

No awkward convo by the punch bowl. After comparing notes on discharge and period probs, you’re totally over the whole awkwardness thing.

Crazy dancing. Come on, were you really going to bust your totally out-there dance moves in front of a date? When you’re with your BFFs when your favorite song comes on, you can rock it 100 percent your way. Just be sure to clear some space!

Sleepovers. Ditching your date for your girlies once the chaperones flip on the lights isn’t exactly polite. But heading to the dance with your babes and saying buh-bye once the party’s over? Unheard of! Hope ya packed your sleeping bag, sweetie.

What do YOU think is the best reason to go to a spring dance with your sistahs?

MODMODMODMODMODMODMODMODMODMODMODMODMOD ok so we're moving to California. My mom got a new job and i know that I should be happy for her because she worked really hard to get the job and it's a step up. But she need to go for training in San Diego the before she leves to go start the job. The problem? She's going to miss my 8th grade graduation! It's not that big of a dig. Yeah I got a new dress and stuff like that but I'm not graduation high school. But I still wanted her to be there to see me the last school event with my friends. Any suggestions on how to not be bummed?

Hey girlie,

first of all, congrats on your 8th grade graduation! you did it Smile And of course, I am happy that your mom will be starting something new, and I wish her the best.  I know it is hard not to be bummed, but just remember that the graduation is a celebration of you accomplishments--but you can celebrate anytime!  The ceremony is just more formal, but you and your family can go out again and do your own thing--like have a nice dinner or a little party, and you can wear your same dress!  Just remember family is the most important--and that your mom loves you and obviously cares about what you have accomplished, so show her that you are happy for her accomplishments too (her new job!) by not being bummed.  You guys can have a little celebration for your graduation and her job promotion together! Also, California is a wonderful place--you will definitely enjoy your new home Smile

today me and my bff are going to the mall. shes only bringing 20 but im bringing like 80 dollars (because i worked for the money, its not like my parents are just giving it to me!) is that rude??

hey girlie,

I don't think it's rude if you don't gloat (show off) about it--you don't have to discuss how much you are planning to spend, but if the subject does come up, then let your friend know that you worked really hard for the money and you just wanted to possibly treat yourself to something you really want! Have a great time Smile
