Dreams of being an actress

 
I want to be a professional actress, but I’m not sure if I’m any good. I also question if I want to go into show biz only because of the money and fame.

It’s great you’re thinking ahead and asking yourself career questions. But take one step at a time, and be realistic. Most actors don’t make millions of dollars—most wait tables to pay the bills in between the occasional TV commercial. Even the rich-and-famous have to deal with problems like the rest of us. For now, develop your talents. Another big great way to practice? Audition for a part in a community play or school musical. Break a leg!

What I would do if I was really desperate was try out for one little gig, and if I got it, I'd see how it's like to work in a TV show or movie. If I like it, then I'd want to do more. If it's pain, then that would pretty much be it. Good luck!

I want to be an actress. I am already in a theatre class. My parents aren't that thrilled that I want to be an actress. How do I tell them that I want to try to audition for local theatre and movies.
