My Crush Asked My BFF Out...And She Said "YES!"

You’ve been crushing on this guy for practically forever (years!) and your BFF has known the whole time. She always said she liked someone else but then your crush asked HER out and she said yes!

I told my BFF that I liked a guy for four years, but I had never told my crush how I felt. The next day, my crush asked my friend out and she said yes. Now she always talks about how they go on great dates and he makes her great CD's. She told me she liked someone else and this just makes me so sad. How do I get over this?

BFF Fix-it: You want you and your BFF to have lots of similarities, but certainly NOT in the boy sharing department. It’s awful that your best friend knew about your major crush on him and still went out with the boy anyways.

Major life lesson: friends before boys. Always. Otherwise, there’s a huge chance that the friendship will never be the same again, as it seems to be here. If you want to keep her as a pal, you should tell her that while you respect her new relationship (even if you don’t like it) she needs to respect the way you feel. Simply ask her not to talk about her boyfriend to you anymore because it’ll just get you upset. If she wants to change into a good bud, she'll listen up and follow through.
